Everybody ordering and waiting for their deliveries

Another lovely express lunch club event from Deliveroo and Yelp! This time we met in the Cathedral Square where Dan had put down picnic blankets for us to relax in the sun as we ordered our lunches via the deliveroo app. This time I opted for chicken tinga tacos from Mission Burrito. They arrived quickly and the driver called me to work out where I was which was very helpful as the square was very busy. I took my tacos back to the office to eat and they were delicious - still warm, nicely spicy and the chicken was really tender. Thanks Dan, Yelp, Deliveroo and Mission Burrito for a lovely lunch!

On a super busy, super sunny Friday I was heading to St Philips square for a picnic lunch courtesy of Deliveroo & Yelp. Due to a high number of appointments at the moment, I had to pop to Jewellery Quarter on the way! Anyway 2 hours later, I was running back to meet the others, needed to grab lunch, see my Yelp friends and get back to the office! Luckily with deliveroo I could order a healthy, good value, fresh lunch on the way to arrive by the time I got back to the office! I loved seeing the guys all sat on picnic blankets enjoying the sun and ordering different types of food to suit everyone - diet wise and cost wise! My food arrived quicker than the 21 mind suggested! It was lovely and cold as expected for sushi & a large portion. The Deliveroo driver was very polite too! Awesome event that im glad I was a part of whilst fitting it around my busy work / life. Thanks Dan for your epic work!

Brilliant event, was great to spend time sitting on blankets in the sun in the bustling Cathedral area. I ordered from Yo! Sushi, had vegetable gyoza and chicken teriyaki with rice. Both were really tasty and it came to just over £11 which isn't too bad. Im knocking off one star as my boy (Charlie S) was unable to order, for some reason it was showing him that every restaurant in the area was closed. He talked to the guy from deliveroo but it couldn't be rectified sadly. Thank you to Dan, Yelp and deliveroo for organising this event!

During the first Express Lunch event the delivery point was moved to Tilt due to unsettled weather. Fortunately on this Friday afternoon the grounds of Birmingham Cathedral were dry and the sky was clear and sunny, weather perfect for a picnic in the park. This event marks the second collaboration between Yelp Brum and Deliveroo. With recent expansion to Solihull, the service is quickly becoming the Uber of the food delivery industry in Greater Birmingham. The Yelp crew was given a £10 credit to order from the express lunch menu (or anywhere really) that guarantees a cheap and fast lunch. This time I opted to try something new and went with the Grand Central branch of YO! Sushi. The sushi restaurant offers a very wide variety of hot pots and sushi for delivery. I opted for Tofu Katsu Curry and Kappa Maki. YO! Sushi is a vegetarian's dream, with a significant variety of items without meat or fish. My meal was very affordable as well, with the hot pot and sushi combo coming to £6.50 before a £2.50 delivery fee. Even with dozens of Yelpers ordering at the same time, my food was cooked and delivered in less than thirty minutes. Our group was pitched on some very comfortable blankets provided by Deliveroo. Even after eating our delicious meals, the weather was so nice most of us decided to stick around for some more time in the sun. Overall I was quite pleased with the service quality again, especially with the drivers being able to find us amongst a swarm of Pokemon Go and lunch break workers in the park. I look forward to using Deliveroo again and especially stopping by YO! Sushi for another lunch.

At st Phillips square with this lovely bunch!

I actually do love deliveroo! They make it so bloody easy to get all the food you want rather than having to stick to the same pizza from dominos. It's one of the easiest apps I have ever seen, they perfected the customer experience and I do love the name and logo! I have often ordered from my favourite restaurants if I didn't have anyone to go with or simply just wanted to chill out in front of the TV. The drivers are always super friendly and represent the brand well. I'm a big fan!

Picked a pretty good first Yelp event to attend! Free food delivered by Deliveroo to the Yelp picnic blankets! My app wouldn't pick up an internet signal but Jason from Deliveroo let me tether to his phone (not sure if that is how you say it...) and hey bingo - ordered my lush (I'm from Bristol innit) chicken teriyaki from Yakinori. The driver called me to find out where I was once he arrived at Cathedral Square. The food was lovely and hot - and such huge portion that I only ate half! I am now eating the rest of it now at 5.40pm ;-) Thank you Yelp, Deliveroo and Yakinori!

Fantastic experience using the Deliveroo app for the first time! Simple, easy and you can track your order. If you are in an awkward place you can just write a few instructions for the driver. Shout out to Jason from Deliveroo as well who was around to help with anything. Given the time constraints I decided to go with a grilled halloumi wrap from Leon - good choice it was delicious and came within 20 mins (how awesome is that)! The drivers were all really friendly which made the whole experience even more fun. I can't wait to use the app again; picnics will never be the same! Note to self - use it for a dessert fix next time!!

Tastes so much better than it looks! (So much so I forgot to take a photo before I started munching on it!)

I came along to the deliveroo express lunch along with some colleagues this time. Dan welcomed us and introduced himself to the colleagues he had yet to meet. The meeting point this time was at pigeon park, the weather was beautiful and Dan had laid out some picnic blankets for people to sit and order their food. 4g Signal was poor so we initially had some issues getting onto the deliveroo app and placing the order (through no fault of deliveroo) but once we were all on we places our orders. I ordered my express lunch from the Greek place near new street station "4023" I love the food and the guys there are so friendly. My food arrived promptly and was delicious as always. Thanks Dan and the guys from deliveroo for another great event

Chicken and prawn katsu with teriyaki sauce and rice.. Not even the whole portion! Such good value! Enough for 2 people!

Thanks Dan @ Yelp and Deliveroo! Great event Dan and deliveroo were really helpful. Got to try Yakinori and it was absolutely lovely, a bargain and a massive portion! I'll be eating it for the whole afternoon #foodcoma

One small 187ml bottle of wine I can buy the full bottle of the same wine for the same price in a local supermarket. I can buy beers for less than 1/3 the price in my local off-license, and this is before the £2.50 charge. I find the pricing is all too wrong. Then there is the minimum £10 spend. You can't order food from one restaurant and drinks from another without having to make a separate order, frustrating! Oh, and two of my local off-licenses deliver for free, too.

I looked at both places we could order from - the Wellington or 40 St. Paul's. Decided as I like cider, I'll pick the Wellington. Though I felt bad as I ordered it to be delivered to my office on Edmund street so that's only on the next block!! Lol I ordered 3 bottles as ordering less than certain amount incurs a fee. The order arrived, pretty much within 20 mins, I got text so I went to the lift and was also called by the Roo driver! He found the place with no problem. My only real issue with the delivery was it was not in a bag.. So I had to carry 3 bottles of cider into the office lol thankfully no one question me, no one tackled me for a bottle or more importantly did I smash any!! Lol I think next time I would go downstairs with a bag to be on the safe side. The bottles were nicely chilled though they are now in my work rucksack for when I get home! Thanks to Yelp (Dan) and deliveroo for my drinks today!! Cheers !!!!

Thankfully it is largely left as is for people to enjoy! Our fellow Yelper Oona is a bit of a street art expert so organised the tour (complete with map and background info in a booklet). We gathered in Mockingbird at The Custard Factory where the venue kindly provided free coffees. First time I'd been in Mockingbird, the burger selection looked good so will have to come back and check those out. We then had a jolly saunter around the various street art pieces. There are a lot within the immediate vicinity of the Custard Factory. I could bang on about the great art but you can see that from the photos. Really impressive. Finally we finished at The Old Crown (Birmingham's oldest pub). Again the venue was very hospitable and gave us a tour of the building as well as complimentary sandwiches and hot drinks. I'd been to the pub several times before and noted some of its interesting historical features. However I hadn't realised they also have guest rooms upstairs. Very nicely done retaining the character of the building (again see photos). All in all a very enjoyable event. Many thanks to Ling and Oona for organising.

Absolutely a must-see area of B'ham. Stunning examples of various spray techniques. The skill and creative talent is extraordinary. I appreciated the leaflet our hosts had prepared listing key pieces plus a bit of blurb about the artist, too (cheers, Oona!). We rounded off the day in the Grade II listed Old Crown - another fine treat. A popular pub and B&B, apparently, there's even a resident ghost. Plus, they serve the best fruity cider. Enjoyed meeting other laid-back, friendly Yelpers. Hugely grateful to Ling and Oona for leading us today. Can't wait til the next event!
