I almost didn't stop because there was a wait but glad I did. Reasonable prices, fast cuts and good old school barbershop vibe.

Best haircut joint in town! Great haircut I've had through my travels yet. I'll definitely come back if I'm ever back in town.

Now that we both live West River, I happily make the drive to Spearfish--she's the one I trust to keep my hair looking its best. Her boutique is an unexpected bonus. It's full of unique, stylish pieces, and over time her selections have replaced nearly all my practical (frumpy?) wardrobe. I now rely on her shop for clothes--from pants, cute tops and dresses and haircare products--for both personal and professional outings. So grateful for this one-stop shop for style and self-care. Thank you, Lori!

It's been a few days since I was there and honestly, I am still in shock over the ordeal I had…read morethere. I was visiting a friend from our of state and wanted to get my hair done. This place was recommended so my friend called to make an appointment for me. While on the phone she explained that I wanted a hair cut and color. She was assured that there would be time for whatever I wanted. We drove about 40 minutes to get there and when we came in and she saw me she started saying that I had a lot of hair and that it wasn't just going to be a regular haircut and that it would cost more. I said ok, but she didn't even know what I wanted yet. I was really looking forward to this so I was willing to pay more if necessary. When I sat in the chair I started to show her pictures of what I wanted but when I tried to explain more in detail she just abruptly said "I got it, I got it!". She seemed annoyed and I was very confused. Then she started in on me about how it should be cut, what she would have to do and that it wouldn't be an ordinary cut. Ok... But I just wanted my bangs cut and some layers on the sides to frame my face. I was ok with getting the length trimmed and possibly some layers but I didn't want a lot taken off in the length. She aggressively started telling me what she would have to do (not what I had asked for) and repeatedly told me that I would hate anything she would do. I was in shock at her hostility. I tried asking questions about how much length she wanted to take off to understand and see if I would be ok with it. She just kept telling me that she didn't know. Somewhere amongst all of this she insulted my hair by saying it looked like a broom. That was completely uncalled for. At a certain point my friend walked over to see what was going on because she was being so aggressive and flat out mean to me. Neither of us were remotely rude to her. She just wouldn't stop and I finally calmly said that I felt like I was being attacked for simply trying to understand what she wanted to do or how much length she was going to take off. She continued to talk to me with hostility. At this point I started to cry. She didn't apologize or take any accountability for her behavior. As I sat there sobbing she continually almost shouting that I'm just too attached to my hair. I was too upset to even defend myself. I was crying because she was being so mean and talking down to me. There was no way that I was going to let her touch my hair but I was so disappointed and felt so bad for how far we had driven for nothing. I still didn't say a rude word to her and I got up and we both left. We were both so completely confused over this. We just didn't understand what made her so angry. The only thing I can imagine is that when she saw me, she didn't like my hair and was angry that I dared to suggest what I wanted rather than do exactly what she thought should be done. Maybe she just didn't want to cut my hair so she bullied me until I left. This was the worst experience I have ever had when trying to get my hair done. It was unbelievable!! ** In response to her reply: my "behavior" was excitement to get my hair done, politely and respectfully asking questions to understand what she was suggesting. I was open and willing for something different. I never once gave any indication of anger or anything that could lead someone to "not trust what I would do to them". I stayed calm despite her hostility and rudeness. I did not become emotional until the very end when I could no longer handle her unnecessary hostility and demeaning speech to me. She did not even give me a chance to explain my "expectations" because I was rudely interrupted before I could explain myself. Her recollection of events is incorrect and her take on how I behaved is downright delusional.
