The Hopkins campus is absolutely beautiful, more like a college campus than most high schools. The…read morelandscape is skillfully planned and well-maintained, with flowers blooming everywhere in the growing season and impeccable lawns. When walking between buildings, you enjoy a park-like atmosphere, and it is so pleasant to simply sit outdoors and enjoy the surroundings and the views from the hill. As a student at Hopkins I appreciated the landscape, and as an alumna I love visiting campus for various reasons, including showing it to visiting friends as a major New Haven attraction. As a gardener myself I think all of the plantings are incredibly lovely and well-placed.

Susanna Wesley School is a wonderful and nurturing environment for young children. The teachers are…read moreextremely committed to their jobs. They ensure success by fostering an environment that helps children learn and grow. Their dedication to the children is unsurpassed. I am a mother of 2 children, who are both currently enrolled in the school. I cannot say enough about Susanna Wesley (aka SWS) and it's staff. One of the most unique attributes of the school is the dedicated Music and Movement program, in which children participate through music and physical activity each day they are in school. The teacher who runs that program is an absolute jewel and SWS is so blessed to have her on board. As a parent, I feel welcomed and a true part of my child's early childhood education. I know my children are getting the best care and academic foundation to prepare them for elementary school. I love that there are dedicated classrooms for each level (3 yr olds, 4 yr olds,etc.). No more than 12 students per class. I thought that was a huge plus because the smaller classrooms allow the children to focus and build relationships with other children. I have noticed how much my children have grown. They are confident, independent and respectful of others. Though I'd like to take full credit on that, I know much of those skills have been gained from the caring teachers at SWS. I encourage you to contact the director and tour the Susanna Wesley School. You will not be disappointed!!!!

A good childcare provider can be defined as a safe, clean facility with plenty of learning opportunities to help your child grow and thrive. Village certainly fulfills those prerequisites. A great childcare provider does so much more--keeps your child engaged, curious, and joyful due to an amazing staff. Village also succeeds there. There has not been a single day in nearly five years that our son hasn't celebrated the fact that he's on his way to school. He literally leaps out of the car each morning and runs to the front door. The teacher turnover is extremely low, and most of his key educators from infancy to preschool remain an essential part of his daily life. We trust them implicitly to keep him safe and happy. They provide the children so many daily opportunities--from being outside on their playground (twice a day in the warmer months), to a weekly show and tell to gain confidence, silly dance parties, sensory play, ice cream truck treats in the summer, and plenty of educational crafts that extend the learning process. What other pre-school has a "bird condo" at the window where the children can keep a daily eye on visitors who fly in and out for a snack, as well as being able to witness such things as baby chicks hatching in real time? Ms. Faye in the preschool room has been a godsend, prepping our little guy for the next chapter in kindergarten and being an amazing partner to us parents as we raise him. He just had his school assessment last week and is fully prepared for the next step, in large part due to our Village family. The staff there truly cares about our little ones, and are just as excited to see them as the kids are when they arrive each day. The center itself is clean, full of necessary sensory stimulation, and super convenient with regards to its downtown Bethel location and their operational hours. They utilize a really great app to keep you updated on everything that happens during the course of the day, from bathroom/diaper usage to meals/snacks, activities, and of course, frequent photos of your child. The old adage is true, It truly DOES take a Village, and we couldn't be more enthusiastic to recommend them to other families.

In this current environment it is so nice to know that the teachers and staff genuinely care about the students. Both of my girls were standouts in High School. Teachers in High School would often comment that they noticed the firm grasp they had on all the educational basics and even commented that they must have not studied in the public school system. While both of my daughters have since graduated college and gone on to professional careers in tech and education, the friends they made at CLA are for life. A large majority of their fellow classmates graduated college from top institutions and also benefited from this great education. I can think of no better opportunity for any parent to watch their children blossom and grow in a caring environment, than we experienced at CLA

I am sad to have to write this review. I had such high hopes for the education my three girls would…read morebe receiving, but I feel I must be honest.. After being promised that my girls would leave CLA and enter honors classes at any public school, I find myself saddened by what their time at this school really produced. The teachers were portrayed to be highly qualified, but instead I found the teachers in the middle school classes unprepared with materials that were being presented. After having my girls tested in a public school, I find they are behind. My children are behind a year because of the mediocre curriculum and the unqualified teachers using it. There are profound security issues on the campus including: no guards, access to the building through unlocked and propped doors. After attempting several times to take my concerns to administration, I find the self-elected board and administration to be unresponsive. I am saddened that I had to withdraw my three girls, but can only pray and hope that Christian Life Academy will one day listen and learn from their mistakes. It is my hope by writing this painfully honest review that things will change.

My child, like many other students, was subjected to bullying at Immaculate High School but the…read moreperpetrators were in families entrenched with the inert administrators and therefore received no discipline. I had to pull my child out after a year. The bullying is so bad that IHS is getting sued for a kid getting assaulted. In addition to the bullying and incompetent principal, the teacher turnover was ridiculously high, class options were limited, and extra costs were added every month that weren't included in the high tuition. Facilities are dated. Athletics are held in higher priority than academics. Immaculate High School is not worth the money or your child's mental suffering.

My daughter was…read morebitten multiple times by another child, and one of those incidents was intentionally not reported to me. A staff member later admitted she kept it quiet because she was afraid of getting in trouble. Even after giving them a chance to improve, the biting continued. When I expressed that I was looking at other daycare options for safety reasons, the director told me we should "part ways." My daughter the victim was the one pushed out, while the child who bit her stayed. This level of supervision, lack of transparency, and unfair treatment of my child was unacceptable. I've filed a formal complaint with the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood. I would not recommend this facility to any parent looking for a safe, trustworthy environment.

The extra special effort and thoughtfulness for both the children and the parents are what sets this place apart from others. I would definitely recommend this organization for any family!
