I visited Dr. Ponquinette referred by a cousin and without any expectations. I had been visited…read moreseveral dentist and oral surgeons and the diagnosis was I am not a candidate for implants. Dr. Ponquinette gave me hope and I immediately made the decision to have him work in my mouth. The surgery day came, Dr Ponquinette performed his magic, numerous extractions and 2 implants. All went flawlessly. No bruising or pain. The care of Dr. Ponquinette and his office exceeded my expectations by far. Throughout the years never had a positive outcome with dentist or oral surgeons. I can't wait to get my teeth and be able to eat and laugh again without pain. I feel blessed by Dr. Ponquinette, assistant's and Maria. I will refer my family and friends to the office of Dr. Ponquinette!

I'm 82 & had a tooth removed 2 yrs ago which had a "gone bad", infected root canal (try to avoid…read morethem) . I opted for Propofol complete sedation. All went flawlessly. I am well- versed in supportive, holistic options & had Oxygen/Ozone added to my procedure. Healing was rapid & complete. I had an emergency extraction a later by a local "holistic" dentist & it was a nightmare. I am returning to Dr. P at Atlantic now for sedation & oral surgery clean- out & treatment of infection from the other dentist that I've dealt with for a year. The only reason for the latter is that I have been dealing with treatment for Stage 4 cancer, numerous other urgent issues AND work 7 days a week.

After reading the good reviews and bad reviews, I took a chance on Dr. Ponquinette and I'm glad I…read moredid. Besides Groton Wellness in MA and Dr. Yuri at Natural Dentistry Center in CT (Which both had a shocking amount of horrible reviews), Dr. Ponquinette was the only Maxillofacial Surgeon that offers Biological extractions within 8 hours of Maine. I watched the documentary "Root Cause" so wanted the periodontal ligament removed, ozone cleaning, L-PRF Fibrin bone graft, IV sedation, therapeutic vitamin C, laser therapy and "Stella" pain relief. All of which they offer and are very transparent about prices via email... By contrast, I initially was going to drive further to Burtonsville Maryland Holistic Dentist, but they were not willing to give prices. They required a $500 deposit to schedule the consultation just to get prices. That $500 is either used as a credit or is not refunded if I chose not to go through them. Needless to say I'm relieved to have found Dr. Ponquinette. The entire process from setting up the appointments via email, to cone beam consultation and surgery was smooth and easy. Dr. Ponquinette is not pushy at all, he is very down to earth and informative. I had two upper root canaled molars removed and will get Swiss Dental Solutions implant bodies later. The pain I had in my neck, shoulder and back, that stemmed from those dead rotting root canals, is quickly going away. I want to cry from joy, but can't yet because my face is still a bit puffy - Feelin'da'healin

Meetinghouse Dental Services referred me to Atlantic Oral Surgery in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. I…read morewas looking for an oral surgeon to extract my infected root canals. They mentioned Dr. Ponquinette and the receptionist said they refer all of their tooth extractions to him. I am sure they probably get paid for referring him because he was absolutely awful. When I arrived at his office no one was at the front desk and they never answer the phone when you call. He approached me at the front desk after I was waiting there for about 5-10 minutes. He was not friendly or courteous at all he just asked for my paperwork and copies of my X-rays. I went to the exam room and waited quite awhile as he looked over my X-rays in another room somewhere. He finally appeared in the examination room and spoke to me with his arms crossed sitting in a chair scolding me about not having moldings done by my referring dentist before arriving at his office. His tone was very aggressive, argumentative and confrontational towards me and I just didn't understand why he was so arrogant. He also did not like the fact that I was not interested in dental implants at this time. I explained to him that I wanted to give my gums a chance to heal after having an infection for so long. I told him I understood after multiple extractions I wouldn't be able to eat solid foods. I explained that I didn't want to stress my gums with implants and, if needed, partial dentures would be a temporary solution for me. He was so argumentative that I had considered getting out of the chair and walking out immediately. He just did not like the fact that I didn't want dental implants at this time. When he finally left the office he didn't say goodbye or it was nice meeting you or the normal courtesies that other business professionals usually say to a new patient. He said to wait in the office and he would send in his wife, Maria to speak with me. She said she had a few of her teeth removed before and it was perfectly normal for someone to wait several months before deciding on implants etc. She said it was a good idea to give the gums a chance to heal especially since I had an infection for so long. She said it is a personal choice that a patient makes and it's up to them. She also showed me her dental implants that were not done by her husband at Atlantic Oral Surgery. She said Dr. Phillip Mollica did her ceramic dental implants. I don't know if this is true but most people would say their husband did the work. Why didn't she use her husband? He kept pressuring me about dental implants and yet his wife went to another dentist for her implants. Wow! Also, when I met the front desk staff they wanted a copy of my driver's license for verification I told them I didn't have it with me. I asked Maria about this since I wasn't using insurance and I would have been paying in full before surgery. She told me they had a problem in the past with identity theft, where a black female patient came into the office using a white female patient's insurance card. She also told me in the past a female patient gave them incorrect personal information. The patient had work done on a payment plan and the address where the bills where mailed was incorrect. She told me they tried to sue but since they did not have her correct information they could not proceed with the lawsuit and they lost money. I told her I didn't understand how this relates to me since I was paying in full before surgery, no payments and no insurance hassles. She said it's just their policy. That explains why Justin was so rude to me; he probably thinks all minorities are con artists. When I left his office I noticed it was filled with elderly white people. This is his clientele and they were most likely referred to him by Meetinghouse Dental for a kickback. I called Meetinghouse Dental and told them about how awful this dentist was and they seemed a little frustrated and wanted to know my name so someone could call me back. I told them it was not necessary (I know they just wanted to tell him who complained) I mentioned they should be cautious about referrals. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone unless you enjoy being berated; his own wife had her implants done somewhere else. He was very hostile and frowning the entire time and I'm sure he wouldn't speak to his elderly patients that way. When I mentioned the problems that some people said they experienced with dental implants he said I shouldn't believe any reviews. So therefore, I do not believe any positive reviews written about him. It was a total waste of time.
