Courteous. Professional. Kind. Patient. From the minute I went to their office, Dr. Zohn and his staff were nothing short of great. I am extremely nervous going to any dentist, much less for a root canal, but I can say with all honesty that this experience was SO much less awful than I thought it was going to be. And that's because Dr. Zohn calmly took the time to explain, comfort and do what needed to be done in minimum time. Was it my favorite thing to do last week? No, but it was MINIMALLY uncomfortable. Writing another review since this place is horrible. Seems like every negative review gets a response back to try to correct you. YOUR FRONT DESK LADY MOCKED ME TO THE DOCTOR WHILE SHE WAS WORKING ON HER PATIENT you're not going to tell me what I HEARD. Also yes forgot to do my paperwork but that took not even five minutes and I still sat there for an hour afterwards so stop trying to save yourself from the bad reviews and just take accountability for what happened would I sit here and lie let alone go outta my way to write a bad review if it wasn't true. read more

I am so grateful my dentist got me an emergency appointment with Dr Zohn. I was in so much pain and the whole office couldn't have been more empathetic and kind. Dr Zohn did what it took to make sure I left his office pain free. His certainty that he could help me put me at ease. He even had me call him at home to report my progress! I haven't had care like that from a doctor since I was a child. I will never go anywhere else for dental problems and you shouldn't either. read more

I have never had a root canal and was terrified. I was also referred to Advanced Endo. by my dentist and had no idea which Endo. Dr. I was getting referred to. High praises to the staff and especially Dr. Zohn. I needed an emergency root canal as I was leaving in a few days for vacation. The staff was accommodating and pleasant. Dr. Zohn was wonderful! I am not a fan of dentists, as I'm sure many others. I walked into his office (my first visit) with high anxiety, not knowing what to expect. He made me feel comfortable, no pain when administering the Novocain (my worse fear), the procedure went well. I have never used these words together, but my dentist visit was great! And I'm still saying that after the Novocain wore off! . Kudos to this team!! read more

I went there to have a retreat of a root canal that was done many years ago. Dr. Zohn was exceptionally nice to me. He has very good communication skills and made me feel at home. I was very comfortable considering the circumstances. The job he did on my tooth was excellent. He took various x-rays to confirm that the mission was accomplished and they even showed me on the x-ray. He even sent me home with a copy of the x-ray for my Dentist. Of course i was a little sore for a day or two. That's what a root canal is. Especially a retreat because they have to dig in there and in my case many years had passed. Sometimes it even requires an additional surgical procedure but the Doctor was able to avoid that. I would recommend this practice for anyone in the local area needing an Endodontic work. Hopefully i will not need them again but if i do i will sure to be back. Great Work Guys! read more

I've been to this business twice. I was in pain and was taken very good care of, hence the 2 stars. The second time I came in I was having pain in the same area and was told by my dentist to go back to this practice. When I called them to make an appointment I was assured that I would not be charged for the visit. I was talked into to a very expensive x-ray in which I told them I could not afford and which showed nothing so that's on me. What really upsets me is that I was charged a consult fee after I was told there would be no charge. After calling the office they were unwilling to work with me on the price of the visit, they only told me that I could make payments. They did not even offer to speak with the doctor to see if she would work with me on the cost of this visit. On a side note The doctor is very good but she is abrupt, rushed and lacks bedside manner read more

I was in a lot of pain and needed a root canal as per my dentist. The group he referred me to couldn't see me for 2 weeks but said a cancellation should open an appointment sooner. I searched Yelp, saw the reviews for Advanced Endodontics and decided to call. The office staff was great, they squeezed me in 3 hours after my call as long as I was willing to wait. I arrived an hour before the scheduled time and was taken in about 10 minutes later. 10 minutes after that Dr. Apolito was in the room prepping me for the procedure. He was attentive to my pain level, once I was numbed there was none, throughout the procedure. The tooth was cracked and he warned me that it could break, fortunately it didn't. Today, the day after the procedure I feel great, no residual discomfort. Looking forward to a successful follow up visit to complete the procedure. Highly recommend! read more

Called office twice on the same day after emergent root canal surgery with concerns of severe to extreme discomfort. Based on a scale of 1 to 10, I relayed that my discomfort was a 10. I was told from secretarial staff (Christine) that they would call me back. My second call I was in such severe pain I was crying. Dr. Thai did not have the courtesy to call me back herself to triage my severe pain. Message from Dr. Thai was relayed to me by her secretarial staff to continue advil and tylenol. As a Medical Professional myself, I would have at the least called my patient back to assess that there were no serious complications and especially to assure my patient. read more

Bait and Switch! The root canal was fine, no problems or much pain. BUT THE BILL! I have pretty good insurance, they called the insurance company and told me what my portion was, I paid it. NOW I get a bill for 378.00 more.. I thought that was the reason they called the insurance company in the first place? They now say it was just an estimate and I should have known what my insurance was going to pay.... Really? Shop around. read more

Dr. Ira Zohn recently performed an involved procedure to excise an abscess in an upper molar. I was prepared for the probability of considerable pain and discomfort, but was pleasantly surprised that I had none -- the procedure was accomplished without my feeling any pain during or even after it was completed and the Novocain wore off! The result was that the molar was saved and long term irritation in the problem area has been eliminated. Dr. Zohn and all of his staff were totally professional and courteous. The doctor took the time to explain the procedure fully, narrating as he worked, complete with detailed X-ray imaging, all of which I appreciated. I am pleased to highly recommend Dr. Zohn and this facility. read more

They told verbally that they accepted my insurance. I am an older women that wears reading glasses. I did not have them with me that day and signed a paper with insurance information on it. Now they are suing me for a balance that they say is due. Stay away! They are horrible people. read more

I was referred to Dr Berger by my dentist regarding pain from a root canal treatment that I had done on a molar. Dr. Berger took a scan of the tooth. Not only did he fail to see a missed canal but his recommendation was have the tooth pulled with an implant. I found an endodontist in Manhattan (for a second opinion) who saw the missed canal immediately on the black and white X-ray as well as a copy of the scan that was taken from Dr Bergers office. Of course, he was able to successfully retreat the tooth. Dr. Bergers office insisted I pay for the CONSULTATION in full and was unwilling to negotiate. Not happy. Endodontist are supposed to see missed canals as they are the specialists who have the special expertise to do so. No new scan had to be taken by my endodontist in the city. He knew where to look and he saw it instantly. Let me also mention that I went to see Dr Thai in the Ocean office regarding sensitivity to hot an cold near the tooth that had the failed root canal back in March. She did a hot and cold test. Of course charged me for it. Turned out my endodontist in the city took a very quick peak at the tooth and saw tooth decay and it's nothing more than a cavity . As it stands I have to wait until this year for treatment from my dentist as my insurance has been more than depleted over this fiasco. I'd be MORE than happy to send you proof of what was done. But only if you agree for some reimbursement as even the consultation charges were not even slightly accurate or satisfactory. read more
