After reading the good reviews and bad reviews, I took a chance on Dr. Ponquinette and I'm glad I…read moredid. Besides Groton Wellness in MA and Dr. Yuri at Natural Dentistry Center in CT (Which both had a shocking amount of horrible reviews), Dr. Ponquinette was the only Maxillofacial Surgeon that offers Biological extractions within 8 hours of Maine. I watched the documentary "Root Cause" so wanted the periodontal ligament removed, ozone cleaning, L-PRF Fibrin bone graft, IV sedation, therapeutic vitamin C, laser therapy and "Stella" pain relief. All of which they offer and are very transparent about prices via email... By contrast, I initially was going to drive further to Burtonsville Maryland Holistic Dentist, but they were not willing to give prices. They required a $500 deposit to schedule the consultation just to get prices. That $500 is either used as a credit or is not refunded if I chose not to go through them. Needless to say I'm relieved to have found Dr. Ponquinette. The entire process from setting up the appointments via email, to cone beam consultation and surgery was smooth and easy. Dr. Ponquinette is not pushy at all, he is very down to earth and informative. I had two upper root canaled molars removed and will get Swiss Dental Solutions implant bodies later. The pain I had in my neck, shoulder and back, that stemmed from those dead rotting root canals, is quickly going away. I want to cry from joy, but can't yet because my face is still a bit puffy - Feelin'da'healin

Meetinghouse Dental Services referred me to Atlantic Oral Surgery in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. I…read morewas looking for an oral surgeon to extract my infected root canals. They mentioned Dr. Ponquinette and the receptionist said they refer all of their tooth extractions to him. I am sure they probably get paid for referring him because he was absolutely awful. When I arrived at his office no one was at the front desk and they never answer the phone when you call. He approached me at the front desk after I was waiting there for about 5-10 minutes. He was not friendly or courteous at all he just asked for my paperwork and copies of my X-rays. I went to the exam room and waited quite awhile as he looked over my X-rays in another room somewhere. He finally appeared in the examination room and spoke to me with his arms crossed sitting in a chair scolding me about not having moldings done by my referring dentist before arriving at his office. His tone was very aggressive, argumentative and confrontational towards me and I just didn't understand why he was so arrogant. He also did not like the fact that I was not interested in dental implants at this time. I explained to him that I wanted to give my gums a chance to heal after having an infection for so long. I told him I understood after multiple extractions I wouldn't be able to eat solid foods. I explained that I didn't want to stress my gums with implants and, if needed, partial dentures would be a temporary solution for me. He was so argumentative that I had considered getting out of the chair and walking out immediately. He just did not like the fact that I didn't want dental implants at this time. When he finally left the office he didn't say goodbye or it was nice meeting you or the normal courtesies that other business professionals usually say to a new patient. He said to wait in the office and he would send in his wife, Maria to speak with me. She said she had a few of her teeth removed before and it was perfectly normal for someone to wait several months before deciding on implants etc. She said it was a good idea to give the gums a chance to heal especially since I had an infection for so long. She said it is a personal choice that a patient makes and it's up to them. She also showed me her dental implants that were not done by her husband at Atlantic Oral Surgery. She said Dr. Phillip Mollica did her ceramic dental implants. I don't know if this is true but most people would say their husband did the work. Why didn't she use her husband? He kept pressuring me about dental implants and yet his wife went to another dentist for her implants. Wow! Also, when I met the front desk staff they wanted a copy of my driver's license for verification I told them I didn't have it with me. I asked Maria about this since I wasn't using insurance and I would have been paying in full before surgery. She told me they had a problem in the past with identity theft, where a black female patient came into the office using a white female patient's insurance card. She also told me in the past a female patient gave them incorrect personal information. The patient had work done on a payment plan and the address where the bills where mailed was incorrect. She told me they tried to sue but since they did not have her correct information they could not proceed with the lawsuit and they lost money. I told her I didn't understand how this relates to me since I was paying in full before surgery, no payments and no insurance hassles. She said it's just their policy. That explains why Justin was so rude to me; he probably thinks all minorities are con artists. When I left his office I noticed it was filled with elderly white people. This is his clientele and they were most likely referred to him by Meetinghouse Dental for a kickback. I called Meetinghouse Dental and told them about how awful this dentist was and they seemed a little frustrated and wanted to know my name so someone could call me back. I told them it was not necessary (I know they just wanted to tell him who complained) I mentioned they should be cautious about referrals. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone unless you enjoy being berated; his own wife had her implants done somewhere else. He was very hostile and frowning the entire time and I'm sure he wouldn't speak to his elderly patients that way. When I mentioned the problems that some people said they experienced with dental implants he said I shouldn't believe any reviews. So therefore, I do not believe any positive reviews written about him. It was a total waste of time.

And Dr. Z ensures that you know what to do for proper aftercare, leaving nothing to nothing to chance. His post-procedure call to check up on me that evening was the icing on the that cake. This won't be the first rave review I've written about Dr. Zatzkin and his office--just the latest since I began my long journey to better gum health well over a decade back, including implants, a first gum graft and pinhole gum surgery he's qualified to perform, which was both successful and virtually a cakewalk thanks to his mastery of the procedure. Hey, it's not an exciting topic, but I think of Dr. Z's expertise and good nature as symbolic of something grander in terms of my having complete confidence in his skills in a world where most of us find our confidence in services severely lagging. To say it best, I'll echo a letter I read in his office from another loyal, satisfied patient, which says, "Thank you for making my gum repairs enjoyable." Yes, the words "gum repairs" and "enjoyable" may sound oxymoronic, but between the terrific, helpful staff--five stars to all, the above-mentioned Quaneesha; Dana, my fave hygienist; Rachel, who got my insurance info processed and approved (hallelujah!); and Krystal at the front desk, whose calm, helpful presence is so welcome-- and the doctor's firm handshake and warm smile whenever I visit, it's the single most enjoyable gum-repair experience from Timbuktu to Portland, Maine--or Portland, Oregon, for that matter! Trust is a rare commodity nowadays--and I trust Dr. Z.

I was nervous walking in, but his gentle introduction, soft-spoken reassurance, and genuine kindness instantly calmed my worries. Since I got out of the Army, I had not been to the dentist for years. So after years, I was…read moreregretting going to the dentist. I had considered going to a dental office nearby named something like "The Apprehensive Patient," because that was the perfect word to describe how I felt prior to my first exam. This office is located in small shopping plaza, and the interior isn't anything to scream about, however my overall experience there so far has been great! My first visit was to get an exam and cleaning, after years of not seeing a dentist I thought I would have numerous cavities and other problems. However, I only had one small cavity, so a follow-up appointment to get a filling was in order. The actual cleaning was great, the nice dental assistant did a great job explaining what she was doing and talked pleasantly with me throughout. Everything was great, then the nice doctor,Noelle Signoriello, came into to give me my actual exam. She was extremely pleasant and helpful. During my subsequent visit to get a filling, I was not as apphrensive, partly because I enoyed my first visit to this office, and partly because the last time I had to see the dentist, I was a young nervous teenager, but now I've grown out of that! I again had Dr. Signoriello, a nice young dentist who is probably in her mid to late 20's. Some people may take her youth as a bad thing, but I thought she was great and her presumed recent training likely means she was educated on all the latest and greatest dental techniques, procedures, and technologies that more seasoned doctors may have not been educated on. But then again what the heck do I know about dentists' training patterns. Dr. Signoriello was nice and since I had a minor cavity offered me the choice of Novacaine or no Novacaine for my filling procedure. I chose no Novacaine with the caveat that if I was in pain I would let her know, and we would then shoot me up with the numbing agent. However, I felt no pain and thus never needed Novacaine which I would associate with Dr. Signoriello's skill. Aside from her skill, my wife who is also a patient at this office, told Dr. Signoriello that she has the best "bedside manner of any dentist she's ever been to." I totally agree with my wife, she not only had skills with a drill, but also made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. I see that this is the first review, but this five stars is well deserved! I went there feeling apprehensive about going to the dentist, but the next time I may actually look forward to going there!

When I called the…read morereceptionist yesterday she was extremely rude and must have told the Dr resulting in him calling my father saying that I was rude. This is 100% not true, I'm a aspiring Hare Krsna devotee and we practice tolerance and never upset anyone. I was compassionate and she was not understanding of my unique situation and kept telling me the same stuff like a robot. She wanted me to come in for a 15 min appointment when I live 3000 miles away and was not compassionate, kind, or understanding or the situation. She ended the call rudely and said fine, have your Dad call him. Today My father called me and told me the Dr Shecklian called him and said I was rude which is an exaggerated tale, and I really wish I had the call recorded. This is not normal behavior for a grown women working in a dentist office. I talk to people all day long from around the world and rarly have any problems with anyone. Anyone who knows me, Knows I'm beyond reasonable and never rude or judgmental to anyone but the way this women dealt with me was not polite and I would never hire someone who can't communicate with customers. I run over ten companies and rarely have problems with anyone and when I do I immediately resolve them though empathy and a loving heart. Customer service is #1 in any business and the fact that Im an past patient and need medical treatment for an emergency and get treated like this is NOT OK. This dentist is awesome and highly skilled and Im sad he hung up on my father as my father always thought highly of Mark. Apparently Mark hung up on my father after he called him and told him what the secretary exaggerated. Not to mention he said that he doesn't wanna have me as a patient anymore. This is crazy, What a crazy world we live in. This secretary needs to take some classes on communication and emotional stability. I would erase this message when we could have a three way call talking about what really happened as this is a big lie and I don't tolerate lies. Hare Krsna!
