a christmas tree in a living room
Elizabeth G.

We've been buying Christmas trees from this farm for a long time at the corner of Shawan and Falls and it will always have a special place in my heart. It's part of family tradition, even though my kids are grown. The people who work there are unfailingly friendly, warm, and helpful, offering a reprieve from the sometimes stressful holiday season, a bright spot at the beginning of the long dark days of winter. So why am I writing a review after all these years? I walked through their Xmas tree lot this year and just didn't find the tree I was looking for on December 11. I was getting ready to leave and suddenly noticed a perfect tree at the front that must have been taken because it had a yellow tag tied to it. The gentleman who worked there said these were likely the last trees of the season till next year and asked if I'd found one. I pointed to the taken tree and said, "Wish that one wasn't claimed!" "It isn't! We just put it out --it's available but probably not for long. It's a nice one." It's seriously the most perfect Christmas tree I've ever had. It's so fragrant I've wondered daily for the last month if they somehow injected it with Frasier pine scent. it's dropped no needles and the branches are still fresh and upright. I do not want to take it down. Today is January 7th. I'll never go anywhere else as long as Misty Valley is still in business.

$7 worth of produce. 4 ears of corn, an onion, 2 tomatoes, some cucumbers and 2 squash.

Every single time I end up at Misty Valley Farms (or any of their numerous trucks/stands in the area), I feel like I'm stealing from them. The amount of good, local stuff you can get for $8 (an average buy at MVF for our household) is absolutely amazing. I usually get four ears of corn, some large tomatoes and some random veggies (onion or two, pepper or two, some pickles) for $8. The quality is very high in everything I've ever purchased here, and the taste matches the look. You can find their trucks and stands all over Baltimore County. The address listed here is the main stand... But they also have a truck that is consistently parked in front of the Cockeysville library, a small stand on Ruxton Rd near 83, and another one (I can't remember where it is).

I am a transplant back to Baltimore, and the Safeway in Charles Village has consistently been one…read moreof the most positive parts of my routine. The staff is always kind and hardworking, but today I want to specifically recognize an employee named Baron. I have watched Baron work over the years. He is almost always by himself, quietly focused, working hard, and never drawing attention to himself. He is the kind of employee who just gets the job done. Because of how focused he always is, I honestly expected that when I asked for help today, he might say no--and I would have completely understood. This morning around 8:00 a.m., I was shopping for white grapes for a patient I care for. She is not able to get around easily, and one of her simple joys is having white grapes when I come back from the store. There were none available on the floor, and Baron was in the middle of unloading and checking in what looked like a very large shipment--many packages, clearly a lot of work. Without hesitation, Baron said yes. He went all the way to the back, unpacked multiple boxes, and by the time I returned, he had gone through them and pulled the white grapes from the bottom of a box--specifically to make sure I could take them for her. I was incredibly grateful, but more importantly, the woman I care for was absolutely thrilled. What Baron did may seem small to some, but it meant everything to her--and it meant a lot to me to see that level of care and consideration. Safeway Charles Village is fortunate to have someone like Baron. His quiet dedication, work ethic, and kindness truly stood out today. Thank you, Baron, and thank you to the entire Safeway Charles Village team for all that you do.

I was told I can wait another 10 minutes for thighs and legs. There were only 2 people at the counter was each were serving only either hot food or the deli. I did discover they were short staffed due to a call out. Service was slow. I did appreciate the lady that waited on me by changing her gloves but they should have tongs for the chicken. I was not to thrilled with how much she scooped the macaroni and cheese, she barely filled the container. The meal was close to 10 dollars. By the time I returned to my office which is down the street and sat down to eat I found the food to be luke warm. After taking a couple of bites, the macaroni and cheese reminded me of KFC's macaroni and cheese, not my fav. The chicken was ok and the wing was on the small side. I don't think I will return here for lunch.

We were here to pick up last minute goods for a graduation party. But let's talk about the little sandwiches and rolls they made in the catering department. Those things were delicious! They put them together to perfection, they were ready on time, and they were delicious! We had steak, chicken, and tuna salad little sandwiches on croissants. I'm definitely going to order from Wegmans again, especially those items. They were perfect! But back to the store itself. They will pretty much have everything you need. They have some of my favorite items like frozen jasmine rice in individual packets. You can get them in white or brown. They're both delicious. I also love the frozen vegetables. They have the best selection of frozen vegetables. Especially frozen spinach. Most grocery stores only give you the champ. Spinach, Wegmans will give you the whole leaf frozen spinach. I love that. And their quinoa cakes are divine. They're frozen vegetables and foods. Selection is top notch!

It ended up being about $35 for lunch for 2 which is like restaurant prices. Either way, the food was tasty and I liked being able to sit at the tables outside.
