Stay away!! they do service without being authorized and then threated to hold the vehicle if you do not pay for the service!! and then try to buy you off to remove any negative feed back and then refuse to pay what was agreed to remove all negative comments . I'm not sure if this is the same people but I wouldnt take my vehicle to this place ever in life. The Mister Transmission on Almon Street in Halifax ripped me off fir $700. I bought the part for my vehicle needed and they said that the part wasnt under warranty if they used it. They used my part and charged me $700. and the leak wasnt fixed. They said they fixed it but I knew they lied and got me for my money. PLEASE PEOPLE DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHIVLES HERE!! We took our vehicle in to replace transmission. We were told it would take less than a week. Instead it ended up taking 10 days extra, without any phone calls. We had to keep calling and checking in. We had appointments and a trip booked and everything resulted in extra costs and delays. And we were not given any discount of any kind. So unprofessional. I've been to this Mr Transmission three times now, they've checked out two cars (one when I bought it and then again when I was having trouble with the shifting) And the gentleman who owns this shop charged me for my three visits a grand total of zero dollars and zero cents. You heard right folks, I've had my transmission checked there 3 times and haven't paid one red cent, even after I offered to because it didn't feel right he wouldn't take my money. I even called up to ask for a Transmission flush and the owner told me to bring it in and check it first and when there was nothing wrong with it he said I didn't need one. A transmission flush is like $80 + tax and he turned that money down because he's an honest guy. The first time I went there it was because I feared my transmission was shot (which it was) and if I A) had the money to fix it and B) felt like this car was worth fixing I would have DEFINITELY got it done here. The second was to have the used car I had just bought checked out as mentioned before, and the third was for the aforementioned shifting problem. There WAS a problem with my car, but it was with the electronics. Not only did the owner (I wish I could remember his name) not charge me, he gave me the info for a reputable electronics man just up the road and wrote a note to him for me explaining what they'd found. I can't say enough good things about the guy who owns this shop. If every business owner was like him this world would be a heck of a lot better place. read more

I had just landed off a redeye flight and no sleep and was on my way in to the city when I heard a loud *thud*. It was clear that the problem was my transmission or clutch and the tow-truck driver who eventually came suggested Mr. Transmission. When you enter the lobby of Mister Transmission there are letters framed on the wall from past customers. When I first read these I thought they were probably a few happy customers among thousands of angry ones. By my final visit I could understand that those letters were instead just a sample of many more happy customers. The service from Mister Transmission was at all times honest and friendly. I was prepared to be gouged for thousands of $ but they worked hard to figure out the exact cause of my problem and they ended up only charging me a portion of the original estimated cost. Halifax we should count ourselves lucky: When the worst thing possible happens (transmission goes) we are one of the few places in the world that actually has an honest shop we can go to. read more

I had leaking fluid from my lines and they got me in ASAP. They performed a thorough check of my transmission and gave me the cost up front to replace the lines. They came in under the quote and right on time with the work. I would go back again if I have another problem with my transmission. read more

I had to have my transmission rebuilt by Mr. Transmission last December. Lindsay is very professional and made the experience positive. Last thing he said before I left was "I take care of my customers, so call me if there is any issue at all." This month I had an issue which I thought was related to my transmission, so I called him. DO NOT GO!!!!! Heads up on a place to be aware of in Halifax. My car last week was giving me some problems, as I thought it was the transmission I got it looked at from Mister Transmission on Almon Street, Halifax. They had it for about 45 minutes and told me my transmission was damaged, with a price quote of $2300-3600 to be fixed. As obviously very upset about this, a man from The Used Car Factory 21 on Pleasant Street, Dartmouth recommended to get it looked at again. The Used Car Factory 21 took my car in on a Sunday and came back with great news that my transmission was not damaged at all. Called me over as my car was lifted to show me the transmission fluid had leaked out everywhere. The pan which holds my transmission fluid had a rusted hole, which left not even 1L of fluid for my transmission. With over the top amazing service from salesmen Nile and mechanic Bill at The Used Car Factory 21 I walked away with my car running perfect at the cost of $260. read more
