After meandering about the square we drove a couple of blocks south and arrived right at noon. It's August, so of course it's warm inside, thought the A/C was running full blast. The folks inside were very friendly. I had ordered the burger and onion rings, while my wife got the chicken strip meal. The chicken strips were large, and the gravy was perfect. She had a four piece order, and could only finish three of the pieces. Naturally, I had to taste too. Very good. As for mine, the onion rings were crispy and crunchy, and easily the best part of the meal. My only disappointment was that my burger was pretty pink. It should have stayed on the flattop a bit longer. We would definitely go back.

The service at the front counter was very kind and nice, but it also almost took 30 min for us to get our food I was disappointed waiting for so long and paying what I did for such small servings sizes, especially when we were the only ones in the place. The place was clean which was nice. So all this being said I'll give it 2.5 stars but I can't so 3 stars it is.

This little Italian ice trailer is one of those must have small town gems you don't want to miss!! Especially around the summer, or randomly during the year since we live in Texas, you will have those hot days that just make you want to jump into a tub of ice, and well, this is the place to cool yourself down. They have a very nice assortment of delicious flavors, including a sugar free option for those watching their sweet intake, and they provide Tajín chili powder and chamoy to add to your ice for free! The people working here are always very friendly and helpful, and will also offer you a stamp card to accumulate enough purchases for a free ice. They have small and large cups, the small will have 3 scoops, and the large holds 4. You can mix and match to your hearts desire, or just choose 1 or 2 flavors. Personally I enjoy the cherry, blue bomb, loco lime, and mango flavors, but believe me, they are all delicious!! Check them out, located right off of 175 in Mabank TX, at the Shell gas station parking lot.

The next morning needing something quick I walked over after checking out and packing my belongings in the truck. Lots of old timers visiting and having breakfast. I'd already spotted something strange on the menu. A breakfast taco with mustard on it? That was the first question out of my mouth at the counter. Does this one have mustard? We're already dealing with "packet" salsa here folks so I didn't expect much. In fact, walking past a few tables the more appealing dish looked to be biscuits and gravy. Didn't have much time so I grabbed my breakfast "taco" and headed to the parking lot. So much wrong here; too much cold with very little hot and you've got a terrible taco. HUGE chunks of tomato and onion with pepper jack (undetectable), eggs, and three meats. I only ate about half before cutting my breakfast losses. Next time, it's biscuits and gravy. Make the time!

I kept seeing signs to stop by this place. This place has peach ice cream, and you have to try it…read more My friends wanted to give it a shot, so we stopped. For me, after experiencing the mega Texas gas station with the giant beaver on it, this place is a doll house in comparison. This is cramped quarters while browsing so many sweets, desserts, and other confectionary goods. I do not have an issue with the smaller accommodations. My frugal meter did not like this place. Many items, including all the drinks in the freezer section, did not have pricing. My frugal meter never likes that. The pricing that I did see for many nostalgia type goods were too high for my liking. They did have samples for you to try peach jams and whatnot. They did give a sample of the peach ice cream. I was looking for fresh peaches to purchase, and that was not an option. The jams, though pricey for my liking, was decent. The peach ice cream didn't really have a true peach flavor to me. I tasted it and was underwhelmed. The flavor was such a low impact to whereas I opted to just buy a slice of a peach pecan pie. The pie was okay, but I've had many with much more flavor and character. I did like the texture and thickness of my slice. I can say that the service is really good here. It's a really welcoming environment. They had peach wine tastings in the store. You may find this place fascinating from the mixed nuts, jerky, plentiful amounts of sweets, and overall rustic, country charm. Give it a try and let me know what you think. I will not go out of my way to visit this place again, but will not turn away if someone wants to go again.

They also have a restroom in the back, and it is a one-room bathroom for all, and a one-seater. They do accept credit cards, and even give you the option to add tip. There is one good-sized table where you can sit if you want to "sit & sip" or try stuff, but it's not big enough for a huge group to eat in. Most of their stuff is made for takeout orders. Their menu seemed really intriguing, as they seemed to have a lot of juices and ice cream (more like the "paletas", which are popsicles with frozen fruits, but these are served in cups). I had a large cup of watermelon juice (delicious & refreshing!), a cup of "Mangonado" (mango paletas mixed with some chili powder & a tamarind-wrapped straw - wowza!), and a cup of "Corn In A Cup" (like corn on the cob, with some butter, Parmesan cheese, & hot sauce or mild sauce - but I chose hot sauce & loved it!). They even offer some sample cups or spoonfuls if you want to sample something before buying it. There are so many good choices - plenty of which are vegetarian-friendly - so I will definitely need to return to try more!
