Charles is a one man operation in a tiny little spot but it appears he's found his niche. He's old school, wearing the white smock and doesn't talk much or waste time asking questions such as "what would you like?" The only thing he asked me was "how short?" I told him and away he went. As another poster mentioned, he'll basically just give you a shorter version of what you walk in with and that's fine with me.

Charles (that is the name of the place and what the customers call him but I'm not sure if that is actually his name) doesn't speak much. He will glance and you when it is your turn to come up to the chair and then will begin to cut. If he doesn't remember you, he might ask you if you want it short (vs a trim) by uttering a one-word sentence "Short"?. Don't bother to describe how you would like the back or the front... this will fall on deaf ears. He will give you the shorter version of the haircut that you already have. If you don't like your current cut, then go some place to get it styled, then visit Charles when it grows out. The magazine rack is full of National Geographics. He has two tiny tube TV's which usually run pirated nature documentaries and sometimes a cartoon. His friend who owns a business down the block, hangs out for most of the day and chats. If you show up when he is watering the plants in the morning, or eating his sandwich at lunch, you will wait until he is done. The above may sound like a criticism, but it isn't. This guy is part of a dying breed of old barbershops.

They overcharged me on my first online purchase (Dec. 2021). I had to complain and make sure they followed through with a refund, received credit. So much wasted of time. Wanted to support local, and it had been years, so used credit towards second purchase, and they ship me an intimate item that I didn't want (I emailed them confirming this), acknowledged their error eventually, sort of, hours of back and forth later... and then took OVER SIX MONTHS to give me my money back - more than one email and phone call per month to get my money back, which they agreed to, sent the product back - crickets... and then they tried to give me a credit instead of the refund they had promised. I tried to speak with the owner after the manager botched helping me and multiple calls later, crickets again. HORRIBLE customer service (NO customer service?) I will NEVER shop there again. If you don't want to waste hours and hours of your life, and have a second job to keep them accountable... don't shop there either. Shameful behaviour for a company from one that claims to be women friendly, making me feel ashamed at every turn for trying to hold them accountable... battling them saying they can't return an intimate private item that they should never have shipped me... gross. The last time I needed was more invisible load, effort away from work and away from my kids with the assumption that I could just float the company 3 digits for over 6 months. Shame on the owners. I'd tell them how they could have made this experience better but they refused to call me back, clearly didn't matter to them. I am left wondering - What is the chance that 2 for 2 purchases went badly, purchases made with years between them and that those are the ONLY purchases that go badly with them? yikes. Original purchase date: May 11 2025 (many emails went completely ignored by them) Item shipped back to then in July (many more emails ignored by them ) Refund FINALLY issued Oct 16th 2025. If you are currently having issues with them, call them and speak with (edited female employee's name out at the companies request), an outlier in the company, who deserves to run the place before they ruin it. Follow up with an email with your agreement/understanding so they can't deny and lie to you like they did to me.
