A unique modern playground right near the Children's Museum in Seaport!…read more This park was designed in honor of the youngest victim of the Boston Marathon bombing. This is not your typical playground. There are multiple sections of the park, which make it great for exploring. You turn a corner and cross a bridge and you're in a new space with new features! In the lower section, there is a water garden with misting fountains turned on during the warmer months. There are plenty of benches for taking a rest or snack time among the well-maintained greenery. I'd say for kiddos under 2, maybe even 3, playing on the pirate ship and near the slides definitely needs close adult supervision. The plank up the hill to the ship is quite steep, as are the two slides on the other side of the park. Definitely worth the trek into Seaport with your little ones!

There's also an ice cream shop made top resemble a Hood milk bottle :-) Tip: The far end of this park is the "entrance" to a shopping strip that runs along Sea Port Blvd

What a great experience and nice surprise. We were looking…read morefor a place for the kids to run and play after a long train ride - it was exactly what we were looking for and more. There were so many slides and equipment for the kids to climb and slide and jump. While there were a lot of people and kids, it didn't feel out of control, most people there seemed to be attentive. The playground area was a artificial spongey turf and definitely makes it safer for the kids when they topple over. LOL There were benches under trees for parents/guardians to sit while safely observing the kids play. When the sun shifts, it gets really hot in the summer. Bring an umbrella for shade if you aren't able to find a seat under a tree. The bonus we hadn't expected - the water part of the park. The Kids loved it!!! We will definitely be back when we are in the area. The kids didn't want to leave...luckily we were close to the Boston Market Place Hall where they could get a cool drink and a treat - that was the only way we could get them to leave this fun park. LOL Highly recommend!

If you haven't seen the viral video that has this long metal slide dubbed the "cop slide,"…read moredefinitely give it a watch. Usually this playground is for kids (not cops) and is complete with a rubbery soft ground. Some of the materials could be harsh, like lots of static coming from a metal slide and possible scrapes from the concrete. I found the area to be clean and safe. With City Hall directly in the center of Boston, this playground is walkable to all downtown staples from the North End to Boston Commons.

Some of the stuff is a little run down/dirty but considering it's free you really can't complain. There are many repeat toys in case it's crowded there should be something for everyone. Fair amount of shade makes this a nice place to hang out even on a hot day. I like the benches and tables for families as well as the water fountains.

It has two large connected play structures, a swing set, see-saw, a sand box, tons of toys and bikes that have been generously donated for a chance at a second life. The place gets crazy busy though. The after work crowd on a weekday is enough to incite a panic attack - especially for a newbie playground mom like myself, and quite frankly, I'm petrified of even trying to go on a weekend. That's not to say there isn't room for everyone, though. With the plethora of benches and tables, there really is room for everyone. D There are tons of abandoned (okay: "donated") toys left around - for the sand box and for kids to ride on, play in, etc. which adds to the play options. I love the access from here to the pond; it makes taking a walk around the pond before or after the playground a nice option. Not to mention all the shops and restaurants right on Center Street as well. There is easily accessible parking behind the playground - it is the public parking lot in JP behind Blanchards. It is 2 hours only, but that is usually more than enough time to get in and out of the playground. It's nice to not have to troll around for a parking spot.

Romantic notion when you're pretty much skating on concrete?…read more The admission fee and rentals make this spot totally not worth. You're really only here for the location and that nebulous "romantic feel". The ice itself is atrocious, even though the rink (and I use that term lightly) does get a Zamboni out from time-to-time. But the ice is so uneven. You can see concrete in some spots, with how some of the ice is so thin. You'll encounter a lot of folks that cannot stay vertical on skates, it's just the reality. Don't be surprised when someone behind you suddenly grabs you in desperation to prevent themselves from falling. Plus it's super crowded here during peak times. There are so many other nearby spots of grab better and more affordable concessions, so don't fall for the ones here.

Unfortunately when I went I needed my blades sharpened but the guy who could do that wasn't there, oh well next time. Stopped and grabbed a lil snack and my friend and I both got the 50/50 and fries were good but they had the best onion ring I've ever had! If you have them I recommend bringing your own skates to save time and money but a great activity for almost any age

We went on a Saturday morning, locals were walking, jogging, sitting on a bench drinking their coffee. Teams were out in the water roving, a nice visual Boston cliche that you see in movies, but I got to see for real. You can walk for miles here, till you get to the BU Bridge in parallel with the beautiful houses of Beacon Hill. Nice nature, cute bridges, birds, peaceful spots to stop by and look at the water, enjoy a book or a coffee. Nice locals offered to take our photos and we enjoyed chatted with. Beautiful sculptures, clean restrooms, lots of greenery. Great spot for a picnic also. I am sure it's pretty here at sunset. I am sure they have events here as well. My husband regrets not knowing about it. He went to Boston University and walked the BU Beach and the Bridge, but wasn't aware of this part. He would have loved to come here for peaceful walks and some reading. We didn't want to leave. A must see place in Boston!
