My husband and I were looking on our side of town (377) for a clothing drop-off box. We knew of one on the other side of town, but decided to see if Mission Granbury might have one in front of their store. It was Sunday, and knew the shop would be closed. We went around back to see if there was a drop-off box. As we discovered that they did not have one, we were about to leave, but a woman came out asking if she could help us. We told her we were just looking for a clothing drop-off location. She told us they do not take donations at that location. We asked where there was a drop-off box, and she said "not here." We asked if she knew of ANY drop-off locations. She got very snippy and said, "the sign clearly says 'no dumping.'" We hadn't even taken anything out of the car at all since we didn't see a box. I told her we were NOT "dumping," just looking for a place to donate some very nice clothing we are parting with. Her response was, "there's the 'after-school program'" but did not tell us where. Instead, she told us to back out to leave.
I hope this woman does not represent the attitude of the rest of the workers there. She acted quite annoyed and was very short with us. We'll be donating to churches from now on. read more
