Needed a ride from Union City to the South Hayward BART station. The operator told me 15-20 mins and my driver was on time. He was friendly and helpful and assisted with my luggage. The cab was clean with all leather seats. He didn't say much on the ride but who wants to carry on a conversation at 6am? ;) He got me to the BART station in no time and my fare was reasonable at $11. The only reason I'm not rating it 5 stars is the one previous time I had used them from Southland to Union City. That cab ride shouldn't have been no more than $10-$12 but the cabbie took advantage taking the long way. I ended up paying $22 from Southland to Union City. Jipped! And when I tried to pay with a credit card he said he could only accept cash. Thankfully this time around this driver made up for the last time. read more

My initial reason for using their services was cuz their dispatch office was so near to my apartment. And it's been positive cuz they (driver Mohammed) is quick, courteous, helpful, very agreeable and unlike a previous Taxi service I used, charges very fair rates and he's not afraid to get his hands dirty. I'm 75 years & Mohammed helps me with my groceries. That's no small matter to me, being disabled. More could be said but the proof is in their service. Try'em, you'll like'em. read more

UPDATE: About a week ago I came in at the BART station in Hayward and called Mission for a cab home -it was very late. The dispatcher tells me "He'll be there in a heartbeat, Sir." After 20 or 25 minutes' standing in the cold I called the dispatcher back and asked where my cab was. "Oh, they've all gone home for the night." "WHAT? I'm on a cane with two bad legs and I have now to walk 2 miles uphill? And you told me he'd be 'here in a heartbeat?' " "I'm very sorry, Sir." So am I. I love Mission in daylight hours, but NEVER AGAIN will I call them when the sun has set. Sorry, but that evening dispatcher doesn't have his head screwed on right. Never again, I tell you! read more

i had to pay with my Visa/debit card and the taxi driver charged me $20 on top of the $13 i owed for the ride. WTH!!! how ridiculous! the worst part is now i'm all nervous that they may use my card info fraudulently because the driver had the nerve to ask ME to write my card information down on some old school carbon copy credit card receipt he just happened to find in his glove compartment. it was nuts! he claimed that the dispatcher did not tell him i was going to be paying with a credit card. (Yeah whatever, that's not my problem!) i've been calling to try to get a hold of the manager for like an hour now. last but not least the cab was FILTHY and stank like stale cigerettes, yuck!!! i swear to God, i was so nauseus in he car i had to breathe in and out through my mouth just to keep from getting sick. of couse i had the window rolled down, too. Called the cab for a quick ride to Church for me and my girlfriend. The cab arrived on time but upon entering, the seats were visibly DIRTY! Dirty carpets and the smell was atrocious!!! Not to mention our cabby had a surgical mask on his face as if he already knew the smell was bad and didn't forewarn us. The front seat area was so dirty it looked like he lived in his cab. Not to mention...THE MUSIC! Customer relations rule 101: "Atmospheric conditions of your surroundings should be relaxing and welcoming for ALL clientele!" As I am a former DJ, I am adaptable to all forms of music. However, for the 3 mile ride we heard middle eastern SWAMI TYPE MUSIC. LOUDLY! Preface: As a grumpy ex-restaurant person, I'm anti-yelp. I now understand being so po'd that someone ( in this case, me ) signs up for yelp just to post a review. I was running late to work this morning (it was about 5 am ), and upon my arrival at South Hayward BART station, I decided to take a taxi in an attempt to make up for over sleeping. The fare from my house ( 2 blocks from South Hayward station ) to work has in the past been about $25. Once I was in cab number 58, I informed the driver of my destination in San Leandro. He turned on the meter, and asked me if I was going to pay with cash or a card. Though I've never been asked that at the beginning of a taxi ride, I didn't think too much of the question. I responded that either would work for me, thinking maybe the driver didn't have change so early in the morning, and he wanted to warn me of such. The driver then stated that he would only accept cash, and he then insisted on receiving a $40 deposit before we left. As I have never been asked for a deposit for a cab ride, I was incredulous. Yes, I wasn't kind when I told the driver that I've never heard of such a thing as a deposit for a cab ride, let alone one that is nearly double the fare. He was insistent ( though our interaction was less than two minutes ) and I refused. I told the driver that service such as this is one of many reasons uber is succeeding, and taxis are floundering. He said, fine, take an uber. Which I did, and the experience was pleasant as always. I then called the dispatcher and spoke to "Mohammed" ( name in quotes because I question wether it is even his name because his attitude was deplorable ). He refused to transfer me to the manager. I told him my woeful tale, and he informed me that early in the morning or late at night requesting a $20 deposit is normal. I told him I'd never been asked for one, and the driver asked for $40 anyway, plus all I really wanted was an apology for the awful service. His reply was, "OK, goodbye." If I were the type to think race was a factor in such things, I'd assume the cabbie didn't want to risk giving a black guy a ride without holding the cash first. However, I don't assume racism is the reason behind every bad experience I have. I merely assume that taxi conpanies have had no real competition other than each other for so long that they don't even consider customer service as part of their job. Thank god for uber ( and lyft, which is preference). To summarize, I'll never hail a cab again, even if it's right in front of me and hail stones the size of golf balls are falling. To put it another way; lyft is better than uber which is better than sidecar which is better than pulling a cart of manure with your teeth which ia better than taxis. The cab drivers are shit. Horrible service to someone who needs a cab. Cab drivers are going to be off tlhe streets as uber and lyft are taking over. San Francisco gets more riders in cabs than the east bay. Horrible customer service. East bay cabs hang up in peoples faces and will not get any riders ever again. Each and every cab drivers are horrible people. Can expect any service to be spot on with east bay can drivers. American people dont take any cabs ever again. Uber and lyft live on!!!!!! I used Mission Cab twice in the last two days to get from the Hayward Courthouse to the Hayward BART station. They say 10 minutes to your location, but do sometimes arrive maybe 15 minutes after the call is made. The drivers are friendly and the prices are reasonable. Definitely my go-to taxi service for the short distance travel. read more

Just wanted to share my experience with Mission Cab. Called with a 30 minute notice that I needed a ride from Hayward to Downtown Oakland. Although all the cabs were busy, the owner himself came to pick me up right on time! Pleasant experience and reasonable rates. Most importantly, on time. I asked the owner about some of the negative reviews, and he explained to me that he had some unreliable driver's in the past leasing cabs from him, and he has since gotten rid of them and is taking a hands on approach to customer service. Never EVER Again.. I usually stick with the same cab driver for my traveling however it has been a little while since I have taken a cab and found this company by googling "South Hayward Taxi". I called 45 mins ahead of time to schedule a cab to pick me up at 7:50am to take me and my 5 year old to his first day kindergarten. First of all, 7:50 rolls around and we are waiting outside. No cab. I call and dispatch tells me that the cab will be here in 5 minutes. 7:57... No cab. I call back he tells me 2 mins. 8:05... I call back because we are now late. He places me on hold to call his driver and hangs up on me, possibly by accident but he could have at least called me right back with an update. I called back and he tells me his driver should be pulling up. he arrives at 8:20. School started 15 minutes prior :( My son begins climbing into the cab as I attempt to ask for a slight discount. I say "You know I'm now 20 minutes late to bring my son to school.." He say "Oh well you need to call my supervisor"... Um RUDE! But I stay relaxed because you catch more flies with honey than vinegar right? I ask "Well could you give him a call because...." He interrupts me and says "You don't want the ride, Fine".. And he starts to drive off as my 5 year old is halfway in and halfway out of the car!!!! Luckily I think he realized how stupid and dangerous this was and only drove a few inches before stopping but I'm thinking REALLY!!!??! This cab driver was out of his mind. I helped my son climb out of the cab and asked my neighbor for a ride. Wow. read more

Editing my review to say this is the 4th time they are at least 10 mins late to pick me up.i wanted to give them a chance even though I heard the same thing from other ppl. Unfortunately this time they made me miss my train and have to cancel an important appointment. My guess is they don't have enough drivers. Horrible, I called for a ride. first, they tell me it's a minimum charge which I didn't mind since it was a short trip. Then they call and tell me the cab is outside. Since it was raining I thought they'd be there. Go out to the street, no one. I call the dispatch he tells me the guy "is" there so I go out again look up and down the street ...no one. I tell the dispatcher over again that I have been out there twice and now three times in the rain and his guy is not there and he keeps insisting that he is. Never confirming the address, rude and incompetent. I tell him to just cancel the order. I'm done. He starts arguing with me and I say no I'm done. He won't stop so I hang up. he called me back and starts cussing at me "you Mother F*****, never call us again" I gave him the same treatment. But I will take his suggestion and never give them my business again. read more

I called at 6:45PM for a cab at 7:25PM. Guy told me driver will find me in time. 7:30 no one is here. 7:40 no one is here. I called them back. Another guy with weird tone told me driver is not responding to radio. I had a train at 8 o'clock and I was running really late. Another lady on call tried to calm me down but nothing helped. I was waiting out on the street and saw cab taking wrong turn and people in office couldnt get to him to tell him right way. Needless to say, I missed my train. NEVER TRY THIS SERVICE! read more

This is the most horrendous cab company. I am a bartender and frequently I call to have cabs come get customers. Not only for their own safety, but the safety of others. I have used this company multiple times (my mistake, should have learned the first time) To come to my workplace, and pick up a client... i get told 15 mins...ok that's cool, but that's never the case, I have to call back multiple times, dealing with a RUDE dispatcher. Most of the time it will take them at least 1 hour to get here, if they ever get here. Tonight tho, just about blew me away... called for a cab at 12:30, was told 15 mins. 1:05 call back and dispatcher says he is going to see where the driver is. 1:20, I call back AGAIN, and dispatcher EXTREMELY RUDE decided to tell me, that there were no cabs on duty, REALLY!!! No call to let me know they can't get a hold of a driver, no common sense to let a business know that they cannot help at this time. Like I said, I work in a bar, it is hard to keep a customer around and convince them they should not drive, not to mention I also deal with handicapped clients as well, who physically cannot walk long distance or drive, that rely on the cab transportation, and when this cab company keeps coming up short, with their lies and misconduct of business, that's when it is time to let the world know...
