The family and I attended an 18th birthday celebration. We had no idea this was here. Plenty of parking, park close by, and the facility was clean. Has a bathroom, kitchen, and outdoor scenery. It hidden location, but it was simple and cute. The room has a dance floor, and lots of windows and doors. read more

I am so happy we chose Mission Blue for our Quinceañera. Originally, we were to have a blessing ceremony outside but the rain was heavy that day, last minute changes to have the ceremony inside. I have to say it worked out well, although these pictures do not due the venue Justice, we were still able to have the green mountain backdrop beautifully displayed in the background. Every corner of the venue was utilized. Our catering staff was able to use the kitchen and there was a side room for the bar and buffet, I did not take a picture of. It was beautiful in there too. Our head table was huge, originally supposed to be in the back of the room to cover a storage wall. We changed it at the last minute to go on the dance floor. We thought it was going to be too big for the space without measuring, it ended up fitting perfectly with space on the dance floor area instead. All of our guest were amazed at this little gem and the location. Like I said, the pictures do not due this venue justice. In person this venue was transformed into a princess pink blessings. One note: if you have an outdoor event, you will need to rent outdoor chairs, we did, but it rained. The venue has 200 chairs but will not allow for them to be used outside. read more

We had our reception here last December. The building is nestled in the hills of Brisbane in a residental area. There was plenty of parking and it's a beautiful site. You can to bring your own caterer and alcohol AND it's large enough to fit 200 seated guests (tables/chairs included). We had 18 guest tables, our head table and enough space for small dance floor. In the lobby area we had our bar, sign in table and photo booth. The kitchen has a stove, double oven and fridge but no ice maker. The lights are on dimmers and they have a projector. There's also an extra room that can be used as a dressing room. Terry was very helpful. She showed us the center and answered all our questions. Check them out! read more

This place is nice, but it's unfortunate that this place is managed by JULIE. Shes a total drama queen and very unproffessional. So, we were told that the day before the wedding, we were able to have 2 hours to drop things off and set things up. On the day before the wedding, Julie storms in the mission blue acting dramatic saying that we were never allowed to set things up! Her counterpart CARRIE said that we were allowed to. Now, in front of our family has her hands on her hips, rolling her eyes, saying that we need to leave now! Keep in mind, that this is the day before the wedding and we were given 2 hours to drop off and set up! So now, she says that she was going to charge us those two hours for set up and take it from our deposit. We were given 2 hours there and now she was charging us for it. On the night of the wedding, while we were breaking down the set up, CARRIE was there to overlook the facility. She accused us of having gum on the floor, oil on the floor, and said our margarita machine(that was clean) had brought in ants the night before. We asked her where the oil and gum was and she couldnt find it. I believe that julie was so mad at us from the night before that she told "carrie" to get us on anything so that they could take our whole deposit. The facility is nice. But please be careful dealing with these two people! They love to nit pick. You'll see what im talking about if you visit the facility on tuesdays. Sometimes a gem is within stumbling distance of your house. That's what I discovered about Mission Blue Center anyway. At first I was skeptical that a community center in Brisbane would be much of a venue, much less one I'd want to get married in. But it proved to be the perfect place. It's large enough to fit 200 people in a large, well-lit indoor space and there's a large gazebo area overlooking San Bruno mountain that we used for the ceremony. You can never be too sure about the wind up on the hill, but in spite of that, we were thrilled with our choice of where to get married. Mission Blue Center holds all kinds of community classes, including very reasonably priced dance classes (and a well-known Argentine tango instructor). This also means a huge hardwood dance floor, perfect for dancing, whether it's a class or busting some wedding dance moves. All the staff was incredibly nice and helpful and I can't say enough about Terry, one of the main staff who went out of her way on multiple occasions to give us advice and answer any questions we had about the site while we were planning. Beautiful location - horrible customer service. We had our wedding here 8/26/17. The spot is beautiful and they have a kitchen that is great for catering set up. The issue is is Terry who manages the location. When we first walked to see the location she was grumpy and moody and fought us about what we wanted the whole time. Example I wanted the photobooth in the back small room, but she wanted it set up by the front door - things like that which didn't affect her (it was being set up by the DJ) but she had an opinion on everything. Per the contract they are supposed to set up and break down the tables. When the the party was over she refused to do the breakdown and made our caterer do it. Since we were not prepared to do this it made the cleanup time last longer. She then began to scream at my mother in front of the guest who had lingered behind threatening to keep our deposit. They are also supposed to, again per the contract, provide cleaning supplies. They had one broom and one mop for the whole location. We had our guest on their hands and knees cleaning with paper towels because she was YELLING at everyone that we had 15 minutes to finish or we lost our deposit. They are quick to threaten on holding your deposit back and hold it over your head while not following thru on their end. Before I posted this review I did reach out the parks and rec to express our concerns and they just ignored us. read more

Just held our wedding vow renewal ceremony & reception at Mission Blue. It is an amazing space, the whole staff of Brisbane's parks & rec dept. should be commended! The space is beautiful and even though the weather was not cooperative today, we had a perfect event there. I would highly recommend this space to anyone wanting a lovely experience. read more

This place is nice, but if you do a outdoor event, it can be windy. Today at the wedding the wind was blowing the bride's veil quite a lot. Also, there was a neighbor who lived right next door who threatened to call the cops if a sound system was used. Damn, what an asshole neighbor. Really put a damper on the mood of things. Wedding Venue Review Pros: - Large banquet hall with full hardwood dance floor - Price - probably the lowest in town. - Tables are included with metal leg chairs - Drive up the hill to site is beautiful - Beautiful neighborhood - Full kitchen with two stoves - Has lighting and a projector available at extra cost - Friendly staff - Open house on Tuesday nights I believe - for those interested in scoping it out Cons: - Tennis court right next to lawn area/ceremony gazebo - the people are kind enough to not disturb your ceremony if you ask - Lawn area is small - their metal leg chairs are not allowed here but you could ask them if you could rent and bring in white lawn chairs if there is enough room - Banquet hall is really two rooms, a bit partitioned - Chairs with metal legs - could rent chair covers or rent Chiavaris - The view on the lawn includes a chain link fence facing some houses It's quite a pretty place for the low cost. If you need a low budget venue, this would be it. Do take into account that you would need to pay extra to rent things that this venue doesn't provide, like linens and tableware. This is a really nice place to have a party or low key wedding. But the thing is, if you want a fancy wedding, it will cost more to rent the things you need. Pricing Structure as of Feb 2010: $260/hr for nonresidents $130/hr for residents Average time for a ceremony/reception with setup/tear down = 8.5 hrs 8.5 X 260/hr = $2210 nonresident 8.5 X $130/hr = $1105 resident It's a great price! My family has rented this venue twice and both times the 2 ladies that come in and check on things have been RUDE. Seriously. The venue itself is beautiful. Both outside and inside. There's a small kitchen in the back, a small separate room, dancing floor, and a dining area. There are plenty of stalls in the bathroom as well. Right outside there are tennis courts, and some grass area you can walk around. The most recent time was December, for my grandma's 90th birthday. We were setting up, and my aunt asks one of the ladies if there were and "napkins" to clean a little, and the lady says "YOU MEAN PAPER TOWELS?!" With a snobby attitude. I brushed it off. We set up the whole place (decorations, tables, food area) The party went on, everyone had fun. By the end of the night, everyone but family members were gone. Everyone left was cleaning up, including taking the table cloths off, and the chair covers (I think that's their job). But we didn't mind, there was so many of us. My mom was sweeping the floor, and was pushing it towards the corner since we didn't have a dust pan, and one of the ladies yell at her saying "IS THAT HOW YOU CLEAN YOUR HOUSE?!" Rude rude rude. We're helping you guys out! At the end of the night, I guess they make you throw all the trash out yourself. And the bins are across the parking lot, my brothers and cousins had to carry it all out. read more

Let me start off by saying I have rented several venues for family events in the past and have never had any problems whatsoever, that is until I rented the Mission Blue Center for my daughter's birthday. The woman who manages the facility is a crazy drama queen. You'll meet her if you tour the venue on a Tuesday night. She's also there during your event to nit pick at everything you do. On the day of our event she harassed my guests, my vendors, and DJ. My vendors and DJ could not believe how unprofessional she was. I emailed Russ from Brisbane Park and Rec the following Monday to complain about her behavior and never received a response. Stay away if you do not want your party ruined by her. I felt like she was looking for any excuse to keep our deposit and she did. read more

This place rocks! The venue is beautiful and the staff (Terri and Linda) are phenomenal. Before Prop 8 was stricken down my partner and I were looking for a place to get married (we had high hopes). We ended up touring the place on a Tuesday night with Terri and we fell in love! Highly recommend this establishment for weddings and parties alike. LGBTQQI friendly! read more
