Last minute decision to come to Cape May. Jumped online and found a reasonable charter at the last moment. Worked out perfectly on a Thursday afternoon. Just the two of us picked the option for fishing. 1pm time. Read the tips to show up an hour early. The boat before us wasn't back yet, and the parking was none. There are maybe 3 businesses sharing one parking area and more businesses fighting for street parking. This was just a little frustrating. Once the boat tour before us came back and left, they get you double parked in their tiny lot. If you don't like that, come early to find street parking. Other than that. This is a bigger charter. You pay a rental for the rod when you purchase your ticket, which includes your fishing license. There are about 25 spots for rods built into the side of the boat, but we were fortunately there was not that many people. Even with only about 15 people on our side, with the drifting the boat does you are guaranteed to get tangled at least once. Thank goodness for Joe and the help on the boat. There in a flash to fix your rod, untangle, or unhook your fish. I can unhook my own bass, but I don't know salt water fish and didn't want to stick my finger in anything I didn't know. You get two cups of bait. They show you how to bait your hook, and once the hour long trip out is over, you do your line and go. The captain was great with getting us on the fish. I caught a couple of flounders, a bunch of bass and a sea Robin! I lost count of how many I caught. We caught lots and got a coupl of keepers. We didn't get the heaviest, but it was close. Bathrooms for all on the boat. Snacks for purchase. Sun shirts for purchase if needed. Be like the cool kids and take a slim rag for after you bait your hook. It's worth the money. If you wanted less people you will be paying more on a different charter. Again a shout out to a great ships crew and their great job. They cleaned our catch and were fun. So after thinking about how to rate Miss Chris I'm giving it 3 stars. Why? They allowed way too many people aboard the day we went on the four hour fishing excursion. There had to be at least 50-60 people on board. Since the boat drifts when you put your line down several others lines became entangled with ours. Unavoidable since there wasn't anyplace to move to. Standing room only. This made any real fishing virtually impossible. I also was surprised they didn't require children on board to wear a life vest. I don't even know if they had them on board. Several people around us were more interested in day drinking than fishing and even though they were told numerous times to bring up their line when leaving their pole to go in the cabin or walk around they continued to leave them in the water. But...the crew was great. Helpful, answering any questions or troubles people had. Like untangling said above lines. Captain had a good personality. Was a decent way to spend the afternoon but just way too many people to actually enjoy the adventure. read more

Great experience. A great day out kayaking. I felt bad for the young guy who was working alone and trying to take care of lots of people without any help. He did a great job, but he could have used a hand, while he was trying to set up large groups with kayaks and SUPs while tending to customers in the shop. read more

This flotation device should be blessed to receive1 star from me ' here's why " twice visiting Southern New Jersey in two different month / two years apart the leading ctew member yells out we're not using a fish finder & and we're not issuing refunds in any manner. Drop your lines , and lets just hoe we even get a bite ' so that in itself was enough to piss off anyone . No one on that flotation device in the two trips caught anything nor in those two visits did she find any fish . read more

Had a great time on the 4 hour fishing trip. We didn't catch any fish big enough to take home, but still had a good time trying. The crew was very friendly and attentive. I took my 3 year old and when she got tired of trying to fish, finding nemo was on the tv for her to watch. Hope to go again some day read more

Booked a college graduation party for 40 people. Had a great time. Boat is well maintained Bathrooms we're clean. Mates Jill and Dom helped us load the food and drinks on board. They were super nice and really worked to make it a great trip. Had some trouble getting the spotify playlist to play over the whole boat so we could make the upper deck a dance floor. They worked through it. People were watching dolphins. Taking pics of the lighthouse and a beautiful sunset. This is a memorable way to throw a party. read more

The men in my family went for a 4 hour fishing trip on the Miss Chris. The mate and second mate were very helpful in help us use the bait and tackle. The cost of 4 hours was $37 plus $5 to rent the rod. It was the beginning of the fluke season so the boat was not crowded but I can see how during the summer it could get really hectic on the boat. Unfortunately on this trip we didn't catch anything edible...we had to throw back sharks, skate, and small sea bass and flounder. Nevertheless it was a good ride. read more

The crabbing was decently fun but we noticed that we had motor problems. Whenever we went in reverse or went fast the motor would kick up and move the boat randomly. It took 45 mins to get back because of the issue and when we told them about the issue they said "oh yeah we know" like they knew it was broken. These people GAVE US A BROKEN BOAT. read more

Got a groupon to fish on miss Chris. First time deep sea fishing for our granddaughters and wanted them to enjoy experience and catch some ocean size fish! The crew was very helpful, the captain kept moving the boat in search of fish. We caught a few small weakfish and bluefish but nothing spectacular and not very many fish caught for a full boat. Went out 7/16/19. The girls did catch a few small ones. Had a good time but if you want fish, they are scarce. The 8 am boat had nothing either. And we did not go "deep sea". The captain only took us just outside Cape May light, not very far at all. read more

Captain, & crew were very friendly and well organized. Boat was in nice condition and offered bathrooms. In July, all we caught were very small sea bass which none were legal, a few nurse sharks about 14-16 inches, and out of the 6 or 8 people fishing around me, only about 8 keeper fish (all less than a pound and less than 15 inches) were caught. Fun for a first time vacationer fisherman, but not if you are looking to catch any big ones. Guessing about 45 people on the boat. read more

You have to remember, it's called fishing, not catching, and like everything in life, there are no guarantees. I've been out with Captain Mike and his top notch crew about half a dozen times now and I've had days where my arms were sore from pulling fish out of the ocean, and I've gotten skunked. Regardless, I always knew the Captain Mike was doing his best to put us on the fish. His knowledge of the local waters is impressive. Jim and a Gavin are also fantastic mates and were very courteous, helpful and just plain fun to hang out with. The Miss Chris is the only boat I'll go out on in the Cape May area. read more

called the boat before we left as per their advise! wanted a night of drum fishing? guy on the phone says everythings good, come on down.. so we drive over 4 hours, get to the dock to hear the mate say he's not sure if we are going.. then after several dif excuses such as weather, enough people, slow bite, and finally a heart attack??? awful fishy to me???? then the mate has the gall to give us each a $5.00 discount ticket for the next time we decide to drive there to get a skinnin!!! WTF, stay away boys this seems to be their usual, captains a nice guy but his mates are awful. never go back!!! there are others out there that want our business! read more
