I was visiting Barcelona for the weekend and is a good Peruvian. I decided to stop by and try this…read moreplace since Gaston Acurio is one of my favorite chefs! I was able to get a reservation online, which was very helpful so we didn't have to wait when we got there. The place is nice and has a lot of seating. There are multiple proving decorations based on the coast area, which makes it feel like a restaurant in Lima. We ordered the ceviche, causa acevichada, lomo saltado, ají de gallina, and cau cau de mariscos (our waiter told us the cau cau would be picante de mariscos, which wasn't true so that was a bit disappointing). The ceviche was incredible! Very fresh and true to the original limeña recipe. The causa acevichada is what took the crown!!! The causa was the most delicious one I've ever had, and the acevichado sauce was just like back in Lima. The cau cau was okay, nothing out of this world. The ají wasn't great, which was unfortunate as I have tried ají de gallina at other Acurio restaurants and they were so much better. The lomo saltado was spectacular. The sauce was perfect and the meat was cooked just as it should be. The potatoes were outstanding! I also got a chilcano de maracuyá which was very good. Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here when in Barcelona. Please do try the causa acevichada and lomo saltado - you will not be disappointed!

We were craving some good Peruvian so we opted for this tiradito, ceviche, causa, and arroz con pato and it was worth it. As an aperitivo, they brought out crunchy corn (choclo) and a pretty spicy salsa (that we ended up asking for more of). All of the sauces that came with the food... we could have bathed in them. We chose to try the ceviche combinado (seasonal fish, fried fish, choclo, sweet potato, and yellow chili leche de tigre. Our tiradito was a ponzu rocoto with red tuna, herring eggs, avocado, smoked mayo, and ponzu. Causa is a peruvian specialty, with layers of mashed potato with either chicken or fish (we got it with tuna)- the causa de tartaré de atún was a red tuna with a garlic sauce. The cocktails (including pisco sours) were great too! Honestly I would have had multiple meals here if I didn't have FOMO about being in Spain and not eating Spanish food. The service was so accommodating. Our server made great recommendations for our food choices, and was happy to move us to a bigger table as more friends joined. They brought out the cake with a birthday candle in it, and it was delightful. A thousand times YES to recommending this, even if you're hesitating about eating something other than Spanish cuisine while visiting. One of the best meals of our trip.

We stumbled across this little Italian restaurant as we walked around Barcelona one evening earlier…read morethis month. The food and service were amazing. The minty hand muddled lemonade was delicious and refreshing after a day in the Barcelona heat. The Las Sorrentinas salad was delicious and big enough to share. For entrees, we decided to get both the chicken and meat lasagna and share. Both were amazing, couldn't pick a favorite of the two. Our server was genuinely appreciative of our business and attentive but not annoyingly so. You could tell the food was all made fresh in house with care. I would highly recommend this place and will go again when in Barcelona for sure!

We had heard good things about this place and after reading their menu with fresh pasta, we all wanted to give it a try. The restaurant is very classy with nice lighting, decor, and a cozy feel. I took the waiter's recommendation and got the egg dough sorrentinas with the green pesto sauce. Two of my friends ordered his other recommendation, which was the malfiditas pasta. The dish I got was good, but I kind of wished I had got something else because the egg dough is mostly a meat center, and I didn't get as much of the caramelized onion or mushroom flavor. The ravioli also seemed as though they had cooked it, placed it in the dish, and left it for a few minutes, because the pasta had started to get gooey on top. I did enjoy the pesto sauce. Overall, I really liked this restaurant and I would love to return sometime when I'm back in Barcelona. I think I would rather go for the fresh pastas next time and of course check out some of their other sauces!!

We had a reservation for 3 o'clock and we were seated at around 3:15 PM - it didn't sit very well…read moreto me, though, that the hostess, when we came in, said we'd have to wait for a bit and then, once she heard me speak English to my boyfriend, she sat us right away. I also did notice that a lot of the folks who you could see from outside where Spanish people or a lighter skin color as opposed to those who you couldn't really see who were of a darker skin color. We decided to go for their daily menu, which I had tried before and was really good. I got their 29.99 menu and both my boyfriend and mom got their 17.99 one. The abre boca for my menu was small, but fairly good. The ceviche was also good but not as fresh as in other places or the last time I was here. For entrées we got arroz con mariscos, jalea de pescado, and tallarín saltado de pollo. The arroz con mariscos was outstanding, definitely get it if you try this place. The tallarín saltado was pretty good too. The "jalea" was okay, the breading they use was a bit different than the classic one but it wasn't bad. The desserts were not good. We got two crema volteadas and a tres leches. The crema volteada was hard and the tres leches not moist. My first experience with this place a year ago was much better than this time around. In the past, I would've given them a 4, but unfortunately, this time I have to give them a 3.

This place was amazing. Perfect English and catered to my allergies without any worries…read more I really liked their beef, they cooked it in a smoky sauce and it came with tomorrow and rice. We're a huge fan of Nikkei food (Japanese-Peruvian) and our hotel was just next door to this…read morerestaurant so we decided to give this a try. We had eaten at Pakta on our last trip to Barcelona and it was amazing, so we were excited to try another Nikkei restaurant. We ate around 2 pm on a Saturday and the place was pretty empty so we didn't have to wait for a table and got service right away. The decor is modern and minimal with a lot of wood, big windows and natural light. Some of the dishes can be a bit pricey, but we were trying to have a light lunch so we shared 3 different dishes and were satisfied with our meal. Compared to a lot of other places in Barcelona, this place is definitely on the more expensive side, but you also pay for location and convenience right next to the beach. The quality of the food was excellent, as was the plating/presentation. Quinoa Salad with Grilled Calamari (12€) - I liked this dish a lot and would get it again - it was one big piece of calamari, grilled, and filled with quinoa and some vegetables like red peppers, edamame. It was light, satisfying and tasty and a pretty decent size for the price. The calamari was super fresh and the texture was not too chewy - I'd recommend this dish! Shrimp Maki (16€) - For a sushi roll, this was pricey. It was delicious, but I don't think it was worth 16 euros. There were 2 skinny rolls, and it was delicious but expensive. The avocado was fresh, and we loved the combination of wasabi combined with the aji panca. I had never had that kind of mixture combined for the dipping sauce and it was a perfect spicy complement. Cod Ceviche Style (19.50€) - We really loved this dish too and would get it again - the portion was a decent size, the cod was fresh and flaky, and the leche de tigre sauce was great, as was the charred wok-fried bok choy. I'd recommend this one too. Overall, a great experience - the servers were attentive and nice, and we even got 2 small complimentary truffles to end our meal. Some of the dishes are on the pricier side, but it was affordable. When you're tired of eating tapas and potatoes and ham, come eat here for something a little lighter and with combinations of flavors you probably can't find at most places. This is probably one of the better and nicer places you'll find right by the beach.
