This is within walking distance to my home, and although I haven't been there at all while living…read morein the area, I do remember coming here as a child. Last Saturday I went to see Evita with my family and due to an extra person I had to book a seat on the day, so it was in a different place to the rest. So while my family sat down in the stalls I sat up in the heavens in the very last row. There is a full bar here, but if you want ice cream in the interval you have to leave the theatre and visit the little shop in the entrance. The first thing that hits you when you enter the theatre is the heat. I was told that at the top they can open the doors, but if your sitting at ground level then the doors must stay shut. I was thankful to be at the top with some cool air coming in through the doors. My family who were at the bottom said it was very very hot. Such a shame because they do show some good things here. The seats are comfy and there is plenty of leg room. Also I think where ever you sit you would have good views. Evita was wonderful and I'm so glad I got to see it after being such a fan of the film! If visiting just make sure you wear layers!

Very big and it looks nice and proffesional. Has three rooms; The Big Room and two small rooms. Holds many gigs there and other shows and you can hire it out for private events or for things such as band practise.

I stumbled upon the What If Gallery whilst shopping in Dartford, and I was pleasantly surprised by…read morewhat I found. Dartford is a little lacking in places for artistic folk to display their creations so this for me was a welcome addition to the town centre. The gallery itself is situated in an old shop which was disused and awaiting redevelopment and is divided into several rooms. This is a perfect venue for local artists to show off their work and potentially sell some of it. On entering, I found the staff to be friendly and warm and enthusiastic about the project. As far as I know they are all volunteers. I enjoyed walking around the gallery - not only were there paintings on display but some craftwork and cards too. The great thing about this place is that not only do they encourage painting and art, and they hold some art classes here too, but I was told there is also a music rehearsal room for hire here at quite a competitive rate and I got the impression that they supported all other types of artistic expression and creativity too. A welcome addition to Dartford town centre and hopefully they will be able to find permanent premises before they have to move out when the redevelopment takes place.
