Way over priced scotch ja have seen ,this just Chicago south side not some prime neighborhood

Absolutely avoid this place!! The price tag is cleared listed on for the case of beer, when ring up I noticed it was 2 dollars more than the listed price. I questioned as to why there was a price difference and the manager blamed it on the beer delivery person for not changing it. I then questioned as to why wouldn't he manage his story and confirm the prices? He stated that he would give me the posted price! The cashier then proceeds to just run my card without changing the total amount. I then ask her, was she gonna give me back the the difference in cash?! She said no! I asked why not when he clearly stated that he would honor the POSTED price!! She then turns to him and asks him if he was going to time the difference, he now says no! I say no problem, cancel the charge as I will gladly take my money somewhere else! How do you manage a business and have the reasons for what the discrepancies are but yeah do nothing about it prior to them being caught by your customers?!? The answer........ POOR MANAGEMENT!! This place sucks I had been buy there for years the owners will not sell to mexicans to me for no reason last week I was able to buy. Friday owner flipped out & I was not able to buy for no reason I asked him why was very rude & told me to leave what was his reason but he could not, save your money shop in a American Owned store. read more

I was looking for a keg for my brother's 30th birthday party, but I wanted something better than disgusting miller or bud lite. So, since Miska's is a few blocks from my house I decided to get it from here. I went in and asked about prices of other brand of beers for kegs and they looked at me like I had 3 eyes. "You want what? You don't just want Miller lite?" So the manager came out and had to call to get prices for the other beers. I decided on one and put a $10 deposit down. The day we went to get the keg, my husband was running around trying to find an ATM because they did not inform us that the tapper deposit had to be cash. Lame. Also, the price of the keg was $16 more than originally quoted. We got the keg home and all was good, until later in the evening when the liquid in bucket that the keg was sitting in was starting to turn a suspicious beerish color. Either there was a hole in the keg or the tapper was leaking beer. Awesome. Today my husband returned the keg armed with the picture of the beer/ice water still sitting in the bucket. After he explained what happened the manager looked at him like "what do you want me to do about it". Then he proceeded to tell my husband that he should have brought the keg back as soon as he saw that it was leaking. First of all they weren't open at 1 in the morning and second, is my husband really going to drive drunk to return the leaking keg. What a moron! Next time we will go somewhere else! read more

There is a good enough selection and the one employee usually there is willing to locate something if asked (second employee during busy times). I don't often make my larger purchases here as I can save by going to Costco or Kenwood Liquors (107th and Cicero). I'm not a fan of getting wine here. Bottles are pretty dusty and more expensive. If I want great wine service I visit Mainstreet Wine shop on LaGrange at 54th place in Countryside. Same prices but true wine experts. If you're in a rush then this is surely the place to go with a large easy parking lot and there's rarely a line of more than one person in front of you. Kenwood has a small lot and gets very busy. And while the employee that is usually behind the counter is nice, he never goes out of his way to smile. Just a neighborhood liquor store without much personality. I'm not trying to talk anyone out of going here. It has it's place and doesn't have glaring issues. read more

Been coming here for years.Came here much more often when my brother lived 2 blocks down on Narragansett.Summer BBQ time it was a MUST to come here.They pretty much have it all from beer selections,michelada mixes to wines that I use to make GOURMET dishes.This place has a nice selection and service is always very helpful when I need them to be.THUMBS UP!!! read more

Been going here for years and the old owner was great. Since the new owner has taken over the store has steadily gone downhill. Rude owners who never say thank you for anything, and don't want to pay out on lottery winnings unless you get more tickets and not cash. read more

Cannot believe this business is still operating today. Wanted to cash in a$100 winning instant ticket, which was bought there 2 days prior. Owner said he did not have enough to pay it unless I took it all in tickets. Well I said I would like $60 in tickets and $40 in cash, as I wanted to use the $40 to buy some wine for Christmas. He said he couldn't do it. Not the first time this happened. They should not be in business and treat customers like that. So went to Fair Share, they cashed the ticket no problem. Bought $60 in tickets from their machine and went to Cig City for the wine. Sorry Miskas, but lost more business due to your extreme rudeness. You should just close altogether since it seems no one likes you in the neighborhood. WHATEVER read more

Decent selection, decent prices, but kind a smelly. There is a bar attached, and it used to be the source of the smell, now the smell is kind old and permanent. I prefer going to the Tobacco shop or Archer liquors. read more

A decent establishment, all things considered. Noteworthy is their fine and varied selection of craft beers. However, the physical space is unkempt and chaotic. For example, cases of beer are scattered randomly everywhere throughout the rear of the store, without any rhyme or reason. read more

I have lived there for over twenty years and never heard anything bad about miskas. They are friendly people who will even go out of their way to order any type of liquor you can't find on the shelf. As far as that keg blog??? if you see beer on your ice you should have checked your tapper. If it was the keg you would have noticed it long before you tapped the keg!!! not at 1:00 in the morning after you are already drunk. I can toatly understand Miskas position in not returning your keg the following day because it is half gone. You should have called them right away after you tapped the keg. I have ordered many kegs from there for partys and they always take good care of their customers. read more

I lived in clearing and went to Miskas the last 20 years - I now live Indiana and for all my parties I will still go to Miskas. They are friendly and will help with anything I need. I have never had a problem with anything I have bought from them. I will drive the extra distance to go to Miskas. read more

Freedie is one, if not the best employee they have i hope they never lose him Also Phil I believe his name is, will help you find anything you need and they are both very friendly guys. It's allright for beer and liquor but I'll never buy another bottle of wine there. 3/3 bottles that I bought were spoiled.
