Each and every one of the teachers are warm spirted and talented educators. All of the families that we have gotten to know through the school have been wonderful and welcoming and some have even become some of our closest friends. Overall, I couldn't recommend this school enough to those looking for a great place to send their children for their first years in school.

They incorporate learning through activities that are fun for the kids. The teachers are so kind, they really dive in and care for the kids and families. Well... we moved to our current house because we wanted our kids to grow up in Puyallup Schools…read more Our oldest son and daughter went to Brouillet Elementary. Our experience started off strong as we had some really good teachers but after a new principle took over many of them jumped ship. After a very disappointing and ridiculous approach to the pandemic, we left for private school. We felt that after nearly suffocating our kids for year and a half, we were DONE. Enduring the combination of far left progressive politics infused in the classroom and oblivious approach to child development, it was apparent that, to the administration, our kids were seen as $ signs and political statements, not as people. As far as teachers, there are some VERY good people who work in this district. We have many friends who teach in district and are AMAZING in spite of their environment and the BS they put up with. Now, I would give the teachers overall a 3 star because our experience was so bipolar. One year our son had a really great teacher, who challenged him, held him accountable and pushed him to grow. The next his teacher stopped showing up after the first week. Literally no showed, leaving the whole class in disarray. Ultimately, we felt that the "luck of the draw" approach was absurd, and we subsequently left. Private school is a major sacrifice but far better, very enriching with HIGH expectations for personal responsibility. We will never go back to Puyallup Schools.

I was hoping this could have been a bus for a sports team needing to go someplace early, but instead we are given this. I am honestly disappointed in both school district and whoever sets up charter buses. You promised us a charter bus, we deserve that charter bus. Thank you.

Traditional school + tutoring was unable to teach him to read, especially because he was stubbornly against learning to read. Homeschooling with him was frankly a disaster. I'm very tenacious and resilient normally, but his stubbornness just kept defeating my efforts. Morningside is pricy, but in our extreme case we needed real help. My son is now reading and the relief is hard to convey. He's still behind his grade level, but showing truly amazing progress. Thank you Morningside!

I don't often write a review, but after reading the previous review of Nikki, I felt I had to write…read morethis. Let's be real, people. Nikki did the responsible thing and called the school. The school listened and said they would take action. End of story. From reading the review, Nikki knows absolutely nothing about this wonderful school. My daughter came from a school that failed to teach her to read, and blamed the problem all on her. My daughter is thriving at Morningside, and is now a reader. No, the problem was not with her, it was with her old school. Morningside did what seemed impossible last year - they accepted a kid who was struggling to read in the sixth grade, and have turned her into a seventh grader reading above grade level and thriving in all her other subjects. Last year she felt like a failure, and that was backed up by the school she attended. This year, she is feeling like a success, and dreaming big of one day becoming a vet. I've heard story after story of success stories at Morningside. Before enrolling my daughter at Morningside, I knew of one boy that came out of her previous school reading at 3rd grade level in 6th grade, and is now in a Seattle Public high school with a B+ average. I also spoke with many extremely satisfied parents before enrolling my daughter. Morningside is dedicated to helping their students to reach their full potential, then sending them on their way when they are ready. The teachers are first rate, know their students inside and out, and the school supports the kids 100% academically and socially. One bad review from someone who knows nothing about the school should not dissuade prospective parents. I was in tears at our first Morningside parent/teacher conference when I heard my daughter was now reading above grade level. Not only that, she's met a great group of friends. That's just our family's story. There is hope and help out there for struggling kids, and Morningside is a superb choice.
