Short version: the results look fabulous and a marvelous time was had by all. Slightly longer version: my typically radiant and delightful three year old daughter has never met a camera lens that she couldn't scowl or grimace at (or otherwise express her displeasure). Much of the time she definitively does NOT like having her picture taken - even by seasoned family & child photographers. When my sister insisted on doing family photos with everyone, my wife and felt the need to do some rather firm expectation-setting about our daughter's participation (or potential lack thereof). What I didn't know before but I offer to Yelp readers now is the knowledge that Lora truly has the magic touch with young kids. Back home in California this evening, we were discussing our trip and my wife and I asked our daughter, "What was your favorite part of going to Denver? Was it swimming? Having your hair braided? Going to the zoo? Having your picture taken?" She then cut us off with, "Having my picture taken." We never in a million years expected that to be her answer, and tremendous credit goes to Lora and Ted for making it so.

This holds true for your last weeks of pregnancy and first month as a mother. Our baby is now 6 weeks old and looking back at the photos Rachael took when I was 39 weeks pregnant and then again when he was just 2 weeks old already feel like a blur. You are so tired, overwhelmed with emotion, recovering from labor, and trying your best to figure out this new little person in your life that time seems to be permantly on fast forward.
