"I clearly recall walking into Elevate Hearing Aid Center in early April 2023. Having moved to the…read moreEast Coast to assist my parents--both in their 80s--I had become a veteran of the 'appointment circuit.' I had spent months navigating dozens of businesses that were efficient, yet entirely transactional. In those offices, I wasn't just looking for a product; I was watching how my parents were acknowledged in the process. Most places deliver information so fast it requires a translator. But the day the three of us were ushered into Kim's office, the atmosphere changed. Kim didn't just 'hear' my father; she listened to him. She authentically included my mother in the process, despite it not being her appointment. It was the first time in a long journey of pitches and products that I saw my parents respond with true comfort. Elevate is a rare, third-generation family business. Kim's father passed down a professional philosophy that prioritizes the person over the product, and that legacy makes a world of difference to my tribe. It ensures we can still say the important things to each other every day. Supporting this legacy is Tucker, the third spoke in the generational wheel. As a certified specialist, he handles the complex IT and the intricate federal insurance paperwork that often bogs down retired families. He ensures the technical side is as seamless as the clinical side. If you feel something is lacking in your current care, I highly recommend you visit Elevate. You might be surprised at what you--and your family--have been missing. Maybe we'll see you there. Sincerely, Tim, son of Ike and Anna."

My son has been a patient for 4 years. He wears a hearing aid, which is under warranty for 5 years…read more Included in that warranty are batteries for the hearing aid. I have documentation of this being included in the warranty. I have also been given batteries by the HRC at every visit, for four years. Today, I asked to pick up some and was told, 'it's never been their policy to give batteries for free.' Well, that is not what my warranty agreement says nor is that the truth of the last four years. Such a strange thing to lie about and then try to gaslight us into thinking I had just made up the last four years and the terms of the warranty?? In fact, I was told by the audiologist to select this specific hearing aid instead of the rechargeable ones BECAUSE the warranty includes free batteries from the HRC. Really disappointing experience. After this, I would definitely recommend considering going somewhere else.

They encourage purchasing their eye glasses -- got it. However, if you wish to purchase your eye glasses elsewhere they retain your Pupillary Distance (PD) number (two-digit millimeter measurement) from your prescription and charge $35 for this information. Mind you, this process takes them no more than 2 minutes and is part of your appointment regardless. And this number is part of MY PRESCRIPTION. This would be like your primary care provider retaining the dosage from your prescribed medication if you do not purchase from their pharmacy and charging you outside of your insurance coverage as an extra fee. This should be illegal or something. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!

I like the doctors; I need ent care. I have traditional Medicare with a Medigap policy. I have…read morenever had a doctor denied a claim in 15 years. The practice, I believe, thinks all Medicare patients are in a disadvantageous plan and they do not pay doctors. Traditional Medicare pays their claims. All Medicare patients have to agree to pay the entire bill if there is good reason to believe Medicare will not pay. No other doctor does this that I know of. Other doctors know how different traditional Medicare is from a Medicare Advantage plan. Personally, I do not want any treatment traditional Medicare will not pay for. Under traditional Medicare, a doctor can run any test and proceed with what is medically necessary. This is not true with the Advantage plan. This practice has to learn what traditional Medicare, which has been around for 100 years, is compared to what an Advantage plan is. I have a lot of illness, use traditional Medicare all the time and never have had them deny a claim.

Dr. Kin seems very dry when you first meet him, but once you've been in a few times his wit and caring attitude take over. He makes his point about your health without making you feel bad. The thing I really like (besides his nurse Melinda) is that Dr. Kin will send you to a specialist when he sees that something in your bloodwork is not quite right. For me, this helped discover an autoimmune disease that left untreated could have put me in dire circumstances. I highly recommend Dr. Kin aand his staff as your next family physician!
