AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Where to start? Well, it's well located if you're attending an event at Olympia and, on the face of it, looks nice enough. But there are two big issues;
1) RUDE STAFF
My jaw hit the floor at the way I was spoken to. I had to ask my friend who was standing next to me whether unknowingly I had said something to cause offence. I hadn't. Simply, when I was handed my sandwich, I asked for a smoothie too. The menu above the counter says "choose your flavour from apple, banana, strawberry, passionfruit......". I wanted to know whether I could have banana and strawberry. The server (who claimed to be the owner) smashed down a smoothie menu on the counter and said "here are the flavours". There were five combinations of fruits, much like a cocktail menu. I asked again whether he was able to do banana and strawberry? Again, he smashed down the menu and said "here are the flavours". I told him I no longer wanted a smoothie. He said "good. £5.60 and don't come back."
In hindsight, I wish I had left the sandwich and walked out. I was taken aback to say the least by his attitude and had paid before I thought about it.
2) POOR FOOD
This was just a simple panini. But they served it in focaccia bread which doesn't toast in the same way and, importantly, is neither what was on the menu nor what I asked for. The chicken tasted pretty awful and the vegetables were past their best. I can safely say it was the worst panini I've ever had. My friend's meal was no better.
As I left, I told the 'manager' I would write a review of his establishment online. He said "Good, Do it. I don't care. It won't affect me. People will come anyway."
Having read other reviews here, it seems I am not alone in thinking this place has poor food, poor staff and a poor attitude. It will catch up with them. I, and my staff, work regularly at Olympia and we will never be going again.
There is such a thing in this life as karma. There is also such a thing as common decency. This place should try to find out a bit about both. Oh, and how to cook a panini. read more
