Pros: close to my house, fairly easy to schedule online, and everyone there was really nice…read more Cons: there is nothing urgent about this place. I was the first one there on a Sunday morning and didn't see the provider for 45 minutes. Biggest con though was they misdiagnosed me, sent me home with some ear drops, two days later after all my symptoms had gotten worse, a different urgent care concerned I had strep. In the meantime I went to two very social events and spent quality time with little kids. Fingers crossed they don't have strep in two days. I won't be back, the pros don't outweigh the cons.

The doctor said she would call us with the results on Tuesday even though they were closed (which she said). Tuesday, no call. Wednesday I waited until late morning, still not hearing anything, and called in. The receptionist said she would have someone call me right back. Didn't hear anything into the afternoon so I called in to the nurse's line thinking I could get the results that way, but the receptionist answers that line too. She was very rude and said I'd have to wait for them to call me back. I'm still waiting to hear from them. We ended up going somewhere else on Thursday and found out he did still have pneumonia. I will never go to Blue Crescent again or recommend them to anyone. Shoddy service and care!

Once in a great while you can make a decision that you find yourself grateful for over and over…read more It's even more rare when you can do that while in the grip of a sinus infection. I checked into the Urgent Care at Park Nicollet, where a very helpful person asked if I'd like to check out Smart Care. She said it was a new service and virtually no wait (v. the long line at Urgent Care). I thanked her and trudged a short way down the hall. Honestly, that moment likely changed my life, or at least my health. I was treated quickly and expertly and have since made Smart Care my primary provider. I've stopped in for vaccinations, treatment for muscle strains, more stupid sinus infections and have always felt that I received the best care possible. I can easily reach out to them through the MyChart website or with a quick phone call to see if an office visit is necessary. The whole team is friendly and knowledgeable. I always feel as if my concerns are heard and acknowledged. I recommend that anyone looking for a primary care team check this out!

Frustrated with the cost of healthcare insurance? Me too, and I worked in the industry for 40…read moreyears. SmartCare by Park Nicollet offers much lower prices, but dramatically limits you to providers within the Twin Cities metro area. Even then, many physicians (including my long-time primary care physician) who work for Park Nicollet are not part of the SmartCare program, which tends to rely on Physician's Assistants (PAs) for primary care needs. I've never been impressed by doctors with diplomas, at least outside of specific surgical expertise. I know many PAs whose expertise rivals those of general practitioners. For 90% of us, you don't need a doctor to diagnose your sore throat and prescribe meds. (In fact, an increasing amount of primary care is *finally* being made accessible through virtual visits.) It's been an active year for me, medically at least: two total knee replacements; a few asthma complications that required medication adjustments; a fun visit to the foot doctor to see if he could help level out my leg lengths after the first knee surgery; pre-op and PT visits for the TKRs; a lovely colonoscopy; and a few other visits I think. All within 10 miles of my Plymouth residence. Next year I probably won't go interact with the healthcare system more than a few times. Only nitpick: The appointment scheduling lines are consistently understaffed to handle call volume, so wait times of 30 minutes are not unusual. Ideally you can use the website to schedule an appointment, but sometimes you need more assistance.

Wow! What a great new facility! I generally try to avoid going to the doctor, but this may change…read moremy mind! Admittedly, this is really close to my neighborhood. So, first and foremost, it is extremely convenient by bike or car! However, when I walked in for the first time today, I was even more excited. You walk in to a very small and welcoming reception area with no line! (I was able to deal with all of that 'initial paperwork stuff' within 10 minutes.) Since the clinic has multiple departments, including family health, urgent care and chiropractor, they ask you to wait in the area designated to your department. Again, we were the only ones in the place and were able to avoid that mass waiting room like usual. The waiting area had large open windows to watch the happenings on Chicago Ave.; a nice change from dull white walls. The actual walls are decorated with tasteful artwork! I love the actual exam rooms! They have two doors so that the nurses/doctors can access them from their own office area rather than the public entrance. It eliminates so many people walking around and the uncomfortable feeling that someone is dying because it reminds you of that episode of ER or Grey's Anatomy... I digress. The staff was extremely pleasant! They made me feel welcome and calm. Everyone explained information in detail, but without sounding like a pretentious 4th year med student. The nurse even showed me information (and pictures) on the internet during our appointment so that I had a better understanding - helpful and educational! I can totally see this being my new primary care provider soon. Great location! Great facility! AND, it is located right next to the Town Hall Tap and Pumphouse Creamery - two of my favorites! Doctor, lunch and dessert all in one short trip. I love it!

They have been seen AND HEARD by caring, knowledgeable, professional people who are taking the time to educate and help them deal with extremely personal sexualty issues. I do not know all the technical terms but I CAN tell you that after a 17 year battle with many other less sensitive healthcare professionals my child is now becoming happier, more confident, and a mentally healthier individual. My child's patner is also seen here because she has an extreme reaction to needles. Family Tree is the only resource (after 7 other facilities) to supply the accommodation necessary for her anxiety control so a blood draw could be accomplished. The clinic has gone beyond any normal standard of care. Lastly, when visiting, I appreciate the calm attitudes, the unique waiting room, and the educational materials available. It is a SAFE PLACE for all.
