Minute clinic Marina CVS. recently I had to go to this location minutes clinic to try and have my TB test done. I went to get the test done and they gave me an appointment to return to have it read. when I went to the date of an appointment but they me that it was closed. i talked the cvs manager but they said they didn't know. when I spoke with the nurses manager they told me that it can happen. it was utterly unacceptabl! read more

I made an appointment to get a shot - I have a prescription for a shot, my doctor could not get me in to a nurse on the day I needed it, so I made an appointment at Minute Clinic. I called, first, though to make sure that they would do a prescription injection. I told the woman on the phone the location, the shot, the prescription and she said no problem. I get there, they won't do shots that aren't B12 or Depo. So I had to run back home to put the shot in the refrigerator (don't want to lose the $$$ it costs) and try to find another option. This was annoying enough that I just called Capsule to transfer my prescriptions. read more

I was okay paying $150 for a visit thinking I would be able to get some transparency with pricing I can't get without insurance at an urgent care. But I also had to wait a day to be seen. Then I had after care issues and since they rotate through clinicians, you have to wait for your clinician to get them to do anything, or you have to pay the $150 again for them to say, "oh hey, yeah, everything is the same". So now, because the single 12-hour period in the last two weeks when I didn't have a fever was when I went in for tests, I can't get them to prescribe ANTIBIOTICS despite still having all the same symptoms, plus fever (which the clinician said explicitly the first time was the only thing preventing her from prescribing antibiotics). I got good care from the clinician I saw initially, but this is clearly just another way CVS/Amazon/whoever owns them is going to nickel and dime the life out vulnerable people needing care. If you want to have a bad time and no follow up treatment and still be sick a week later without recourse, by all means go to this place /s. read more

I'm changing my review to a 1 star review because of what happened in the aftermath of my appointment. I was under the impression that I didn't have a co-pay and I never received a bill from MinuteClinic. I provided my insurance info and paid. Then months later I received a letter from a debt collections agency out of nowhere saying that Minute Clinic took a collection out on me for a $25 bill I didn't know about? They should have called me and I would have paid right away. Instead they've messed up my credit score. read more

I was having a hard time getting seen by my PCP for asthma (I had an exacerbation for the first time in years), so I made an appointment to be seen here. I was impressed with the thoroughness of the NP, Adam Aisner. He was professional, answered my questions, and prescribed me a rescue inhaler. I have also followed up with him afterwards for management of my asthma since it's been so difficult to get seen at my PCP's practice, and he is always so knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend him and this Minute Clinic! read more

Evelyn is awesome. She is like a flu vaccinating machine. If you are an idiot or having an urgent issue, you will walk in. Otherwise, call or go online to set a show-up time. It'll be like you waited in line for a while (mine was 105 minutes) but you can do errands instead. I was done 23 minutes after my time. Good deal. read more

Evelyn Desser was great I have no problem with her. My complaint is that my TB test reading was scheduled 2 days after my initial test at 5:50 pm and on that day the Minute Clinic decided to arbitrarily close at 5:30 pm. I normally work until 6 pm and had told the original nurse this which is why she gave me the latest possible appointment at 5:50. I still had to take off work and drive 30+ minutes to make it only to find the clinic closed early. A TB test has a limited window of 72 hours for the reading to be accurate so this put me in a bad situation. My new job starting 9/1 required the TB test results. I took off work to get to this appointment. No text message or email came informing me that the clinic was closing early and canceling my appointment even though I indicated I would like text updates. The nurse (not Nurse Desser) did call to tell me they were closing early, but I didn't answer as I was driving over on my motorcycle. I got the message too late. I called the 800 number and the Minute Clinic rep suggested I go to a hospital for the reading as it was now 6 pm and all the other minute clinics were closing. I drove in rush hour traffic to Kaiser, waited in line only to find out they wouldn't do a reading if they didn't perform the original test. Also, they said if I wanted a new test I would have to wait a week as it isn't safe to inject someone with two TB strains so close together. Waste of time. I called the 800 number to minute clinic once more to discuss the issue and try to see if they could give me an appointment over my lunch hour the next day, but the lady on the phone said the line was for emergency messages only. I didn't believe her but was so defeated at this point that I just said ok and hung up. The customer service line is terrible. I tried to book another appointment the next day on the website but the only times available were after 3 pm. I decided to risk it on my lunch hour and drove over (skipping eating my actual lunch) hoping to get a walk-in appointment. Luckily Nurse Desser was there and after a short wait was able to do the follow-up and give me the paperwork needed to start my new job. The only reason I went to minute clinic is that of the "so-called" convenience of it. I could have gone to Kaiser and done the whole thing for free, but I needed it done fast and mistakenly thought minute clinic was worth the $65 in this situation. It was not. Minute Clinic should change their name to day and a half clinic. read more

Went to this clinic this morning because I have had strep a million times and just wanted to get tested. I saw Adam Aisner, the NP there at the time. He refused to even give me a test for strep because I am a college student who could possibly have covid. I understand that he was trying to take precautions but he was so rude he made me cry. Last time I went here for strep they also misdiagnosed me. Never go here. 10/10 would NOT recommend. read more

If you don't have health insurance or you need to see someone right away, Minute Clinics are a great option for urgent care. At this location, I had a wait of 30-45 minutes, and I came during a weekday morning. I'm not sure what the typical wait is, but be prepared to not have an in-and-out experience. The price is decent for out of pocket healthcare. (Check online for current pricing.) You get seen by a Nurse Practitioner who can diagnose you on the spot and provide a treatment right away. When I went to this location, I was a bit annoyed that the NP sent my prescription electronically to CVS pharmacy even though I had told her to send it to another pharmacy. This caused a delay when I went to my pharmacy, but it still worked out okay in the end. read more

I was here yesterday to have my flu shot and I would have given this place 5 stars and here's why I didn't: I got here at 4PM and didn't leave until 6PM. I had to wait until 5:45PM to get my flu shot. Everyone else who was in front of me was there for some other reason. I am not a patient person and I was getting agitated that the clinic would close at 5:30 and I would not be seen. Nurse Practitioner Esther Robinson was extremely helpful and courteous and kept apologizing to me for keeping me waiting. I felt bad that I was seeing her past her scheduled time but she said it was OK because she would be there at least until 7PM to clean up and perform administrative work. She even encouraged me to have any other immunizations if I needed them or to address any other concerns as long as I was there. Fortunately, I only needed the flu shot (at least for now). The Minute Clinic should be changed to "Takes Forever" Clinic. I know I am being facetious here but still, why it has that name, I will never know. If you come here, and yes, even though I griped about being kept waiting, make sure Esther is the one who is working that day since she told me she never knows from one day to the next which minute clinic she will be at. At least call CVS to find out which clinic she WILL be at so you can get personalized service from her. She's great. I let her know that if I do need to return, I will definitely call to make sure she's there. Why would I want anyone else? read more

Nurse practitioner was nice, and training a new nurse practitioner. Both very nice. Sign in process is nice and user friendly. You can register prior to going in which may save you time on waiting. They take a lunch break from 2-3 Monday thru Friday so no one can be seen then. And they take lunch 1-2 on weekends. For such a tiny space, they were very helpful and prescribed me what I needed for my allergy outbreak. read more

All in all.....not too shabby. If you need something simple and you are off the grid with your normal doctor, these folks serve a very useful need. "Yep, you got the flu." "Too late for Tamiflu, but here's some cough meds. Now get plenty of rest and lots of fluids." This is probably only a 3 star experience, but it's a 5 when you grade on a curve. read more

The wait time read about 1 hour and 45 minutes, but I only waited about 45 minutes. Not too bad for a Friday afternoon! She even recommended that I download an app called GoodRx for cheaper prescriptions since I have Kaiser insurance and didn't want to bother with their urgent care. read more

A WONDERFUL resource if your regular doctor isn't available to see you for a simple issue. I'm not positive if they can submit lab tests etc. like full urgent care centers, and there was no table inside to lay down if necessary, but they can do shots and prescribe medications. I had a severe pain in my ear which I suspected was an infection, but every regular physician and specialist I called in my network was out the entire week for Independence Day. So I looked for an urgent care center and found Minute Clinic inside this CVS on Westwood. They open at 10 but I got there around 10:30AM and the clinician wasn't there yet because they sent her to the wrong store apparently. There were 4 people ahead of me. I saw the nurse about 11:30. She spent a long time with me because she had to flush my ear, so I felt bad for other people waiting, but I'm glad she didn't just rush me out the door. She was able to prescribe medication which I picked up at the same store. The visit cost $90 plus meds, and altogether I spent about 2 hours there, which in my experience is just a little longer than the average doctor visit. I'll definitely continue to use Minute Clinic. Parking at CVS is free. read more

Took my Mom last week to this place. In the past the same nurse practitioner was very nice. This time it's not the same person. There were 3 patients ahead of us. I expected that it would probably take us about half an hour to see the nurse practitioner. We're called about 15 minutes later. When we walked in, the first thing she said was weather or not it's only for a flu shot and she continued saying that she had not taken her lunch. I was shocked. So unprofessional. She only asked 2 questions when I was there. One of them was whether my Mom was a left or right handed and another was whether or not she had any reaction to flu shots in the past. We were in and out in no more than 5 minutes. After I explained to my Mom that the nurse practitioner had not had lunch (my Mom has a hearing problem) and said what she did to us, she's concerned that about the shot she got. So unprofessional. She could have put out a sign for lunch by the door. What's stopping her??? I will not return to this location next year if I see her. I already gave her a really bad review when they sent me an email. I didn't even get her name. She's rushing us like a mad and hungry woman. read more

Nice people, but be sure you write down EVERYTHING about the billing and get it signed. I got bills for things I was told I would not be billed for and was pestered to death by their outside lab for strep test, even though they said it would all be covered by my insurance. What was supposed to be a simple, one-fee minus a deductible turned into a several hundred dollar unexpected ordeal. Never again. Not in a minute. One other joke about this place. I decided today to pay yet another of their bills via their online payment portal and get this: After you put in your account number, it takes you to a page where they expect you to enter all of your credit card information WITHOUT showing you how much you're paying. Presumably they save the surprise for after clicking "next." They can forget about it. This bill is going directly to the shredder. read more

Arrived during their lunch hour (which is listed on their website as a specific block of time, but turns out it's flexible and they might leave you hanging whenever they want), and when I told them I had to go back to work, they assured me that they don't close until 5:30pm. I arrived at 5:15 (yes, I know it was cutting it close, but I got there as soon as humanly possible), and they were already shut down -- doors shut, "Closed" signs on the doors, and the lights in that part of CVS off. I asked the girl at the pharmacy if there was any way at all to see someone for a quick strep throat test and she told me everyone had already left for the day. Never mind the fact that I could hear staff members in the rooms next to us. At this point it's still only 5:20, and I decided to say something to the CVS manager about it. I asked on the guys at the register if I could speak to the person in charge, and he insisted that I tell him what the problem was first. I mentioned that the hours of the clinic listed on the website said it didn't close until 5:30, and he literally shrugged and said, "Sorry bro -- try some Advil maybe?" And then he gave me some run-around about how they operate out of the store, but they're not responsible for them, or something like that. Pretty incoherent. But he was busy going on his break, so he couldn't be bothered. Bottom line: Go to a real clinic or urgent care. Or any other CVS. Or any friend who is a doctor or nurse. Don't go here. read more

Normally I am not the type of individual to write a YELP review as most of my experiences with other businesses are generally positive. MinuteClinic however has completely dropped the ball as it pertains to their Covid-Testing and sending results. I went to one of their sites last week Tuesday, over a week ago got tested and was told results would come within 2-3 days. After not hearing a word from anybody I called the support center and was given the run around. I was also given miss information and possibly lied to regarding hearing results in a faster matter. On the 4th straight day of calling I spoke with a supervisor who explained to me that there would be a short waiting process but waiting over a week to get results back is simply frustrating and disheartening. I already scheduled a test elsewhere with another business. Overall I do not recommend anybody get a test at this location, simply put it's bad business. read more

I was running errands in the neighborhood, so I thought I would pop in for a quick cholesterol screening. My timing was brilliant - it seemed like everyone had decided to come in that day for a flu shot or various other needs. Nonetheless, Nurse Gina was diplomatic and helpful with everyone. Although my needs were very simple and there were many people waiting for their turn to see her, she gave me her full attention during my time slot. I did not feel like she rushed me or cut any corners in observing her protocol; she seemed to treat every clinic visitor with that same courtesy and professionalism, which helped calm everyone in the waiting area as well. Huge applause and thanks to Nurse Gina and this great little clinic. I will definitely return here for simple wellness visits. read more

My wife, at the recommendation of her cardiologist, went for a tetanus vaccination at the Minute Clinic. Minute clinic would only administer vaccination in combination with whooping cough and diphtheria vaccinations, thus driving up price of shot. When payment for bill for shot was not provided in thirty days, we received a phone message from MC threatening "legal action" if payment wasn't received within five days. I've had to go here a lot for preemployment testing recently and they were actually pretty quick and extremely good I really like the nurse practitioner Evey or Evelyn I forget her name, but she is supersweet answered extra questions and made sure she took her time with me and that I was satisfied. I go every year to this location for my flu shot just convenient and walking distance from my office. The nurse that was there this time had the most angriest look on her face not a smile and kind of rude. Told me that she had someone before me but that she goes to lunch at 2:00 and I would probably not make it. I left because I do not want someone that was obviously having a real bad day giving me a shot. Will not go back to that location if she is there. read more

Machine said it was a 30 minute wait (no problem) two hours later the nurse comes out and says that she's unable to see me now because she has to go to lunch. The minute clinic here is awful. I was seen both times by Nurse Practitioner, Elizabeth Lalane, who couldn't care less about how terribly sick I was. She constantly downplayed and overlooked my symptoms, told me I didn't have a fever (when the other nurse practitioner who saw me right before told me that I did), that is was "viral" and needed no medication. Went back a few days later because I was only getting worse and had developed an ear infection, and she prescribed a LOW dose of antibiotics though I was clearly needing more. THREE WEEKS LATER, I am STILL sick and feeling awful. I am extremely unhappy with the level of care I received and the complete lack of concern for my health on Elizabeth's part. I normally do not write yelp reviews, but felt that this deserved one. If you are feeling ill, steer clear of this minute clinic (or at least Elizabeth because you're just a number to her). I also called the toll free number and expressed my concern about the care I received. Hopefully, she will start to care a little bit for patients, or get the boot soon. read more

Horrible, problematic experience. Boyfriend had a painful, badly infected fingernail. There was one person ahead of us, but we waited more than an hour. The NP was friendly- but not very professional; just read questions off the computer, and didn't listen well to the answers. She prescribed antibiotics, and just said to "keep it dry", "don't do dishes", no recommendations about bandaging or follow-up. This was a severe infection with the fingertip swollen to twice it's normal size. 2 days later, the infection was much, much worse. Brief, simple research revealed that she prescribed the wrong antibiotic (one that actually contributes to paronychial infections - instead of treating them), and the wrong home treatment (he should have been doing warm-water soaks, and kept it well protected). We went to urgent care last night where the nail was lanced, the wound cleaned and well bandaged, the appropriate antibiotics prescribed, and an appointment for follow-up care in two days. Nearly everything done at the Minute Clinic was wrong. If it had been lanced and the right treatment given - or if she had simply sent him to a physician if it was something she wasn't comfortable with- we could have saved 2 very difficult nights. Worse, the complications of inappropriate treatment were potentially severe, including damage to the bone, and needing surgery. We'll never go to minute clinic again. Dr. Darvish at Brentview Medical, on the other hand, was wonderful! read more
