My insurance wasn't showing up as active in the system but I needed to get my foot checked out so asked what it would cost. The woman at registration gave me an estimate and said if they bill my insurance and I have to pay, the bill would be 40% less. I was in a chair awaiting the doctor within 15 minutes. I saw the doctor within 45, had my xray within 90 minutes and was diagnosed - the foot is broken - with two hours. I was given a referral to a specialist and offered validation for my parking. Everyone was kind, compassionate and efficient throughout the entire process. If you live in the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area, and need help between noon and nine p.m., this is an excellent resource!

I was seen within about five minutes. Robert triaged. Melody, the PA, took a careful look, assured that no ligaments were involved and proceeded to shoot me up with lidocaine. Many of those pokes hurt, but the result was no pain for the nine stitches that closed the wound. Melody is a real pro, kind, professional, thorough and a great communicator. Robert finished the clean up, wrapped my hand and wrist with stiff but flexible binding, gave me some extra large sterile gloves to keep my hand dry in the shower and sent me on my way. That's why you are paying so much. So yes a person expects to not have to wait and to also be treated quite well. There has been an extreme decline in medical care in the last 12-15 months. This has looked like non standard of care medical treatment, long wait times even when there is only one or two other patients present and you have made an appointment. Major errors in lab orders causing delays in potential needed treatments. A refusal to make an appointment for a phone call with the medical director after several requests and several screw ups because he's busy running the whole company now. This is simply bad business and not the way to maintain long term clientele. My belief is that they are banking on not having a major competitor at the moment, but that can easily change given that their patients are wealthy and they are doing such a poor job serving them. It's really just a matter of time before another group of doctors gets together and builds a similar business model.

I gave them ALL of my Aetna insurance information and they told me my insurance was valid and accepted there. He set me up for my bi-annual labs (I had some cancer markers previously) and some X-Rays for some hand a foot pain I was having (likely due to Peripheral Neuropathy, but was being cautious). Everything sounded great right? Covered. Good doctor. Efficient exams. But, ah, see, actually... I wasn't covered. So between Aetna telling me I was, Cedars-Sinai confirming I was and no one in the doctors office doing their due diligence to make sure I was covered, NO ONE COULD TELL ME I WASN'T. Then the bill came for almost $900. I disputed it multiple times thru Aetna and they came back and basically said that even though someone at Aetna told me I was covered, it was still my responsibility if they were wrong. So, also FUCK AETNA. But also fuck Cedars-Sinai for not verifying it all properly. So today, I just put $900 on a credit card.
