Dr. G. ordered a TEE test and determined the stroke was to to a PFO (a small bypass hole in my heart that had not closed since birth and allowed a small clot to enter my brain). Following her direction, I was sent to a surgeon who was able to close the PFO with a device, called an Amplatzer, in order to prevent a clot from causing another stroke. Since that time, I have had routine follow-up appointments to monitor my progress to recovery. Dr.G is very popular, but her time and advice has made my life to recovery very happy.
