The people were mostly great, and the care met the standards I would expect. However, the system works poorly. First, the "save my spot in line" process is poorly done. I signed up, got no confirmation, and could never check the status. When I called to see if I was really in line, I was told my the person who answered that she didn't know how it worked. I never got the promised text with 30 minutes warning of my appointment time. When I arrived I was taken back quickly, but then forgotten. I sat for over an hour in the little room before I had to open the door and ask if someone was going to see me. They had forgotten about me. The doctor was fine, and apologetic. Then it was another 30+ minutes to get an x-ray. Then another 30+ minutes to hear from the doctor. Then another 45 minutes to get a tetanus shot (they apologized for forgetting me again), and then when it was finally time to leave they told me I never did the required paperwork on arrival and I had to stay to do that. In short -- I was there for over 3 hours to get an x-ray and a shot, with an appointment. They admitted forgetting I was there twice. They said something about not scrolling far enough on the computer. It was busy -- but something is clearly broken there. I think the staff here was potential to be great, but maybe is let down by the patient management systems in place and general management of the facility.

I had seen well over 30 different doctors and expressed to several of them that I'd felt like part of my health issues was my thyroid and I'd been exhibiting all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. None of them listened. They'd run tests and tell me that I'm fine. Even the Chief of Endocrinology at USF, a Harvard grad, told me I was a medical anomaly, that he couldn't do anything more to help me and sent me on my way. Dr. Barzey was the first doctor that made me like my complaints weren't being views as complaining and actually listened to me. After one visit and some testing, BOOM. Diagnosed with primary hypothyroid disease. And ironically enough, I've since gone back and looked through all my labs from 2017 up until I was diagnosed, and my thyroid labs had been consistently tanked. T4, T3 and TSH were all "normal" but only barely. I feel like any doctor who saw that all my labs were crazy low-normal should've done something to help me. The whole way lab testing is done where they take the lowest of the low and the highest of the high and if you're somewhere in between, you're normal.. that's gotta go in my opinion. It's keep so many chronically ill people undiagnosed and hopeless. I'd previously rated this clinic at 3 stars because while Dr. Barzey is phenomenal, the front desk staff was always extremely rude and treated me as if I were inconveniencing them when calling in or checking in and out for appointments. Their behavior was so bad that mid last year, I actually started having the nurse practitioner who I see for my hormones at a different clinic take over my thyroid maintenance since she did both. I was recently diagnosed with low blood pressure and the cardiologist that diagnosed me referred me to an endocrinologist. My hormone NP was honest in that she had no clue. So I thought about my amazing experience with Dr. Barzey and knew that if anyone can diagnose what's going on, it's her.. so I had my first appointment with her in over a year just recently. And I've gotta say, I was REALLY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. All the front desk staff are the same, but they're all so nice, helpful and well, enjoyable. So I'll definitely continue coming back now. I'm really glad that issue was fixed cause Dr. Barzey is so amazing. And I never wanted to stop seeing her. I just felt so awful already with my health, that the frustration I was experiencing with the front desk previously wasn't worth it to me then. But even if they were still rude, Dr. Barzey is definitely worth dealing with this or that in order to see. Thank you SO MUCH DR. BARZEY. YOU SERIOUSLY CHANGED MY LIFE FOR THE BETTER AND I WOULDN'T BE AS WELL AS I AM TODAY IF NOT FOR THE CARE YOU GIVE TO YOUR PATIENTS!!!

The check in system was quick and all I had to do was show my ID and insurance and I was done. The wait was only maybe 5 minutes before they called me back. Once in the back, I was shown how the monitor works, how to use the cell phone that goes along with it, and how to change the patches. What I thought I was getting put on was actually much different than it turned out to be. It used to be a little pack that you wore that would be around your waist but now its small sensor box that is attached to your skin over your heart that you just change every 4-5 days and the cell phone just has to be within 30 feet of you at all times. That was a huge relief. I was in and out of the office within 20 minutes and it was seamless. I hope all these appointments go this easily.

The hospital wanted me to stay to monitor but I promised to do a follow up. Im new here in Florida, so stayed within the same hospital group for a follow up consult. Dr Parag Patel is who I picked to visite on 1-25-2022. Im still recovering and very weak. The front desk help was exceptional and brought a smile to my face. As Dr Patel entered the exam room and asked my why I was there for a visit, I explained that I had a low HR that medical people were concerned about. He asked me if I had passed out or was dizzy, I replied not at the time. I had experienced chest pain, burning and shortness of breath. I also was experiencing indigestion symptoms. His response was of dismay and not understanding why I was there, he said everyone that has COVID is experiencing these things, its common and that if I wasn't passing out that I had nothing to worry about. It occurred to me at that time that he was very irritated with the situation and then proceeded to listen to my chest. I shared that I was upset with his bedside manner and that I could leave. He said he would set up tests, gave me paperwork to hand to check out to set up apts. I took paperwork, handed to very nice gentleman at the desk and left. Unfortunately Dr Patel is a very unhappy human being and the humanness of us underlings really pushes his buttons. I really hope that whatever is in the way of this doctor gets resolved, when people are sick, they require empathy.

I paid the $100 fee upfront, as confirmed during a prior phone inquiry and at check-in. The appointment proceeded smoothly, and I received my DOT paperwork. The front desk confirmed everything was complete before I left. On May 5, 2025, I received a text from billing claiming I owed an additional $80 for the visit, citing my "self-pay" status. This unexpected charge, after paying the quoted fee, feels shady and unprofessional. Charging an additional $80 weeks later, despite my clear disclosure of self-pay status and confirmation of the $100 fee twice--once over the phone and again at check-in--raises red flags about their billing practices. It seems like a potential bait-and-switch tactic, especially since the front desk gave me the all-clear when I left, only for billing to contact me over a month later. I contacted the provided 1-844 number and spoke with an agent, explaining that I would have chosen a cheaper alternative had I known the total cost was $180. The agent's response of forwarding my concern to the billing department with a 30-day wait for an update feels like a stall, which isn't reassuring. I will update with the outcome.
