Everything is self-service, and their system wouldn't even process my credit card, despite there being nothing wrong with the card. More concerning, I specifically asked the front desk employee if I should enter my daughter's information because she was the patient. She told me to enter my information instead. I questioned her and explained again that the appointment was for my daughter, and she still told me to use mine. When the nurse eventually came in, she thought I was the patient. I then had to explain the situation all over again. We were there for more than 3 1/2 hours and were told they had multiple emergencies and were sending several patients to the ER. The most upsetting part of the experience was the way the PA handled my daughter's evaluation. The way she communicated her concerns had me absolutely terrified. She discussed sending my daughter to the hospital by ambulance and made the situation sound so urgent that I was told to go directly to the hospital and not even stop to get my daughter something to eat. I left there completely panicked, thinking something was seriously wrong with my child. When we arrived at the children's hospital and my daughter was evaluated, the situation was presented to us very differently. We were reassured that we did not need to have rushed there in the panicked state I had been led to believe was necessary. I absolutely understand being cautious when it comes to a child, and if a medical provider believes a child should be evaluated at the ER, I would always rather they err on the side of caution. My issue is with the way everything was handled and communicated. There is a huge difference between recommending further evaluation and unnecessarily frightening a parent. Between the chaotic check-in, confusion over who the actual patient was, the extremely long wait, and the way the situation was communicated to me, I left feeling incredibly disappointed with the entire experience. I will not return to this facility and cannot recommend it to other parents.

I have used this facility a handful of times, and the past few times my service has been quick, friendly, and very efficient. I went in today around 10:15 am as I wanted to have a cough looked at that I have had for a month. Being that it was very cold out and didn't want to drive the 20+ minutes to my 'regular doctor' - sick - in Glendale Heights (or wait a week for an appointment!), I went to the CDH St. Charles location instead. I literally clocked in at about 10:15 and it wasn't busy at all, perhaps 2 other people were in the facility (there are times it is packed and there IS a wait, but the last few times I have just lucked out). I gave my information and was taken within literally 5 minutes. Long story short, I was out of there and getting my medicine from the machine (this is a life-saver, rather than driving to Target and waiting about half hour) at just after 10:45 am. I was in and out within just over a half hour - how many of us have had to sit at doctors offices for hours or in a waiting room waiting for the doctor for 45 minutes? The Dr. was in within 5 minutes of the nurse! Can't beat that at all. The nurse was extremely friendly, as was the doctor - his name was Dr. Kalsi. Extremely friendly, down-to-earth, even humorous - explained what my diagnosis was and even helped me with the medicines, gave me some background info on what I had and explained it in a sense where a 6-year old could understand what he was talking about.. A+ Incredible experience, I whole-heartedly recommend this place. I was home within just over an hour of leaving to go here. Excellent!

All, Just wanted to…read morelet everyone know about a recent unpleasant experience I had with Walgreens Take Care Clinic. During the weekend holiday of July 4th I came down with a condition requiring a visit to my primary care physician. However, due to my work schedule and the holiday weekend I was unable to schedule an appointment. I knew I couldn't wait another 2-3 days to see my doctor. Therefore, I decided to visit the Walgreens Take Care Clinic(my first visit). I figured at a minimum I could get a prescription that would help clear-up my condition. So, on the morning of July 2nd I visited my local Take Care Clinic. I was first in line and spent about 25 minutes with the nurse(APN) on duty. She completed the exam and prescribed a couple different medications that in her words "would clear-up my condition within 24-48 hours". At that point I was very happy. Over the next couple days instead of seeing some improvement I saw the condition worsen and worsen...no relief...NONE. I was feeling miserable and knew I had to see my primary care physician asap. By Tuesday, July 5th I was able to schedule a last minute appointment with my doctor. My doctor quickly went to work and diagnosed my condition(completely different than the Take Care Clinic Nurse). I explained my situation and what I had been through at the Take Care Clinic. I showed him the Take Care Clinic paperwork which included the diagnosis and prescriptions. Much to my surprise he snickered saying "You were misdiagnosed....those prescriptions will do nothing for your condition". Well, I guess I wasn't surprised. But, at that point I was rather upset and disappointed in Walgreens Take Care Clinic. I shelled out $80.10 for the clinic visit and another $20 for prescriptions. For what? The nurse misdiagnosed my condition and also prescribed medications that would do nothing to resolve my condition. Because this was my first visit to a Walgreen Take Care Clinic I felt compelled to contact them and file an official complaint. So, on July 8th that is exactly what I did. I called their Patient Support Center(866-825-3227) and spoke with a representative(Pete). I walked through the entire scenario with Pete and he seemed genuinely concerned about my experience. He assured me all complaints are taken very seriously and would be reviewed by management level folks higher up. Shortly thereafter, I received a follow-up call from another Take Care Clinic representative named Catherine. She was very nice and requested that I fax my Primary Care physicians notes detailing his diagnosis and prescriptions. I agreed. I contacted my Doctor's office and request the documents be mailed to me. Fast forward, I received the doctors notes and I faxed them to the number provided by Catherine. After that, I heard nothing back from Catherine or any other employee from the Take Care Clinic. I followed-up with Pete on 8/2. Again, Pete assured me complaints are taken very seriously. Although, at this point it began to feel like it was just corporate jargon he was trained to regurgitate back to upset patients. Anyway, he stated my issue would be escalated to his supervisor for immediate review. Later that day I received a call from Catherine again. She stated she never received my fax. Although, I find that suspicious because the fax machine I used acknowledges and confirms all successful faxes...and my send was 'successful'. Anyway, at this point I asked Catherine for her email address. I sent the requested paperwork via email and she confirmed receipt of it within minutes. Upon receipt, she stated it would be forwarded and reviewed by the Take Care Clinic Market Manager and the Regional VP. Upon review, a decision would be made regarding my refund request. Today, August 8th(a month later) I received a voice message from Catherine. She notified me that my refund request had been denied by the Take Care Clinic 'Market Manager'. There was no reason provided and no additional information given. I must say I was rather disappointed. I feel little attention was given to my case. In fact, I feel betrayed! How can Walgreen Take Care Clinic justify a denial when their nurse misdiagnosed my condition and prescribed the wrong medications? How can they justify it when they have my doctors notes and his diagnose was completely different than the Take Care Clinic nurse? Note: After getting the correct prescription(from my doctor) my condition cleared within a couple days. Based on this experience I would certainly not recommend Walgreen Take Care Clinic. It was an awful experience and I feel my concerns were not taken seriously. DO NOT USE WALGREENS TAKE CARE CLINIC. THE SERVICE WAS POOR. THE LEADERSHIP WAS LACKING. As always, caveat emptor.

So I wait for an 1 hour and 45 mins with ONE person in front of us (I think she took an hour lunch between there). After walking around Walgreens with 2 small kids for an 1 hour and 45 mins I finally see the Assistant walking to the desk. I tell her that I have been waiting for 1 hr and 45 mins, and she only needs the shot. This woman verbally attacks me...I am not even kidding when I say, leaning over, red face, yelling at me..."I am ONLY ONE PERSON! I refuse to give you a shot. Get out of MY clinic!" The first thought was to call the police, I seriously didn't know what to do. So, I begged her, (this was all in front of 10 people who were waiting for prescriptions, etc) literally, "No, please, please," I said.."Please we have been waiting so long." Although, I knew I wasn't be genuine, it got her in. But, she seriously made me cry..I was crying I was so upset, which is not something I really ever do. She called her in, took 30 seconds to give her the shot. She handed me the paper, and I told her to never ever talk to me like that again. She proceeded to tell me to "Get out of MY clinic." I will not stop until something happens with my complaint..ever.

A friend of mine also went to get an ultrasound and we had a similar experience... we both wanted an abortion and at the end of the visit the nurse said a prayer for us which was weird because what if we weren't Christian? The nurse there wasn't very friendly she was very stern she didn't know that I also work in the medical field and when I shared some information she talked to me like if I was slow. she just wants to read her pamphlets and say her prayer and then when gave me these "helpful" pamphlets for support to be able to keep my baby... none of those places help you! I threw the whole paper away. All of this prolife information they give you and none of the places even respond when you want the help. In my opinion don't even tell them you want to abort because it's just awkward and not friendly in there. It's just a Christian nurse that wants you to bring a baby full term and doesn't care about what happens after.
