My leg was red, swollen, and tingly, with all my veins visible, which is not the way I went in. The first time I called, they told me my provider would call me back; I called back 1.5 hours later and nobody answered. I never got a call back. They weren't able to fix my issue but the place they referred me to doesn't even do what I needed done.

I brought my 73-year-old mother here after two full weeks of struggling with an upper respiratory…read moreinfection -- coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and fatigue. She has leukemia and asthma, and her husband just had a stroke earlier this week, so she's completely run down and only getting sicker. We made sure the staff knew all of this. After waiting about an hour and a half -- despite having an appointment online -- the PA simply listened to her lungs and ordered a chest X-ray. There was no further exam or effort to get a full picture of my mom's health. The visit was cursory at best; she spent no more than ten minutes with her total. She was diagnosed with bronchitis, and despite us explaining the shortness of breath and wheezing she's been having all week, the PA recommended steam showers, percussion therapy, and Mucinex -- and basically told her to "wait and see." Wait for what? An asthma attack from coughing so hard she ends up in the hospital? For it to turn into pneumonia? For her to become so fatigued and run down she can't care for herself? I understand being cautious with antibiotics and steroids, but medicine isn't just about what shows up on an X-ray -- it's about treating the whole patient. My mom is immunocompromised, more susceptible to secondary infections, and unable to heal quickly. She's been sick for 14 days and is trying to care for herself while also managing her husband's recovery. She needed thoughtful, proactive care, not generic advice for someone young and healthy. And when a patient says, "I'm getting sicker, not better," what more do you need to hear to intervene? I left this visit feeling frustrated, scared, and deeply disappointed. We came here for real help, and it was a complete waste of time. I truly hope this clinic learns to look beyond textbook symptoms and listen to their patients -- especially those already fighting uphill battles with serious health conditions.

Watch out for several things: they are running under a new name: "Wild Health Asheville" and Dr…read more Vickery is no longer seeing patients publicly through insurance but rather under a privatized system which is why they changed their name. These new services are extremely expensive. Additionally although they "pride" themselves through their women's health and OBGYN practices, they are not prepared to provide women with pads or feminine products after these services. Staff turnover is extremely high as they go through a third party temp agency and fire well meaning employees for simple things like showing up to work and using the rest room as soon as they clock in. Remember, this is a doctor's office and the employees are punished for their bodily functions. Staff drama is extremely common. Steer clear.

I was with Vicery Family Medicine and felt well cared for and heard. Then Dr. Vicery changed…read moredirection and added more doctors who were aggressive with treatment and at one point would not renew my prescription for diabetes until I had some very expensive tests not covered by my insurance. I was in a dilema and they seemed to shrug their shoulders and had an attitude towards me that I was not cooperating. They held firm and I had to find another doctor who could help me. I could not take the additional medications prescribed to control my diabetes because they made me severely sick, digestively and I didn't trust the doctors there any longer. Then Dr. Vicery moved into another area of care that was not for the patients and clearly for making lots of money. Lousy move. do not go to this practice.
