I was worried about how long it would take me to get in to the specialist, which would be 6-8 months. I dealt with Dr. Michael Blackburn, whom I called a pompous ass on the way out. He straight up walked out of the appointment. I will admit that my theory about my condition is somewhat rare, but Dr. Blackburn was not only dismissive, but extremely condescending when he told me multiple times, "I've been doing this a long time, you don't have that condition." I have never in my life had an argument during a dr's appointment, but that's what happened. I asked how he could know for sure that I didn't have this condition, and I asked for two separate tests, both of which he refused. He then said he would prescribe a particular medication that would, in fact, exacerbate the condition that I think I have. I said no, I didn't want that medication, and he got up and left the room. I left in tears. I'm also annoyed that when I called the clinic after to complain, I was not directed to a manager, but the online website where I was never able to find a place to voice my concerns. I would not recommend this clinic if you want someone to help you. I read the other reviews and they are all horrible, with countless testimonies of the lack of empathy and customer service at this location. I am far from crazy, but that's how Dr. Blackburn made me feel.

I looked up wait times where I could find them and 3 hours for Urgent care, 4 likely for ER. We were so pleased we were able to make a 6:00 pm appointment at the Urgency Room. They accept Medicare and we have BCBS supplemental. Check in was fast, not many in the waiting area. Chairs were SO comfortable, which mattered because my husband had sprained his back. We were called back quickly to a room (maybe ten minutes?), nurse came within minutes and she was so kind. Just lovely. Not long, doctor was there. So respectful and kind, really listened and explained recommendations. Just WOW. Nice room like an ER, btw, with a bed instead of examine table to climb up on. The doctor could check my husbands back from the chair, which helped rather than have to lie down, which would hurt. Ordered CT, a very nice and upbeat tech came, wheeled him down the hall. They came back so fast I thought the CT couldn't be done yet but it was. Doctor came not long after that, explained CT was all clear. Prescribed zip pack of steroids, nurse found us the address of a 24/7 pharmacy in Savage (Walgreens). Paper work checked out right in the room where we sat not long after that. We drove away a little before 8:00. Efficient, kind, happy staff, large, beautiful facility that must have quite the capacity considering we didn't have to wait for anything and the parking lot was full when we got there. Two pills later, my husband slept through the night for the first time in six days. Couldn't have worked any better. What a gift for us, and now five days later he is mended and walking, sitting, sleeping without pain. Went from screaming yelps to all better. Whew.

Her tone was flat and she just said well we take only serious things like strokes and heart attacks. I said pretty sure you don't take strokes and heart attacks and they would need a ER facility- I mean come on. Then she said well things like broken bones- I said anything else because online it does say you can do a walk in- then she said well bad stomach pains and then she hung up. Important to have people with the correct info that answer phones and actually give a shit about who they are talking too.

All the staff were kind, respectful, and competent and my problem was resolved temporarily. But here's why only one star: Unfortunately, when I got the bill in looked like they hadn't submitted any claim to Medicare or my insurance. I called again to submit my insurance information there was still no claim. I tried to sign up on Mychart but my personal information was tagged as in invalid. They must have gotten my birthdate or other piece of information wrong. Then it dawned on me. I took another look at my bill. They miss-spelled my last name. Not only that, I got bills for an x-ray from two separate entities--a double charge.

The receptionist staff was friendly but I noticed that they started asking people's names as soon as people walk in - so everyone in the lobby could hear. Not the most private urgent care or the most HIPPA friendly. It's a small lobby/waiting area and there are only about 1-2 people at the urgent care desk at one time. There was maybe only one other person in the waiting area when I went so I was checked in within 5-10 mins. Service was fast and the workers were friendly. The doctor was very nice as well, though I forgot his name. The only thing I didn't like is he didn't send my prescription to the pharmacy as soon as we were finished with the appointment. Also, don't bother calling the urgent Care because you get redirected multiple times and no one from the urgent Care ends up picking up the phone. I had to go back and forth from the pharmacy to the urgent Care again to ensure that my scripts were sent. It turns out he forgot before seeing another patient. Big whoopsie. I ended up waiting an hour for my meds because of this. Not the best way to spend my afternoon.

I first visited to discuss a surgical procedure for my facial nerve. Even with me traveling here from across the country, everything was a well orchestrated symphony. The electronic check in systems gave me exactly what I needed to know, and told me precisely where to go. When I arrived, they even told me where I needed to sit for when I'd be called back. The care team took their time with me and I had all my questions answered and we agreed on next steps. They even got me in, same day, to talk to a physical therapist, since I was from out of town.

What I will describe to you is the phone system, the RN or MD calls you, and leaves a VM with the phone number to call back. Alas, you cannot call the number that is provided. I have a heart procedure scheduled, and you would think proper care would involve the hospital providing the patient with an important phone number to call in the VM. Of course, perhaps I am not an international patient who pays cash?? This practice should stop, full stop. I was told by a kind receptionist that the nurse ( who called 4 times within 10 minutes while I was teaching) leaving an accurate phone number to call back, was possibly a HIPA violation. What is going on here? This is ridiculous! Is leaving the correct number a HIPA violation, I think not. If so, how about a modern variation TEXT me the proper information, that is used with many Mayo correspondence. The app doesn't help, when responding to the updated time that was described in the VM. I believe I am not the only person experiencing this problem. Too big to fail ? Maybe

Immediately made smart ass remarks about her opioids she on, despite her never even mentioning them, and made several more inappropriate remarks during the appointment. We already knew from urgent care that she tore her meniscus. The only thing he needed to do was refer her to an orthopedic, and he never even did that. My mother has no issues with her meds, and her knee has been extremely painful to the point she can barely walk. She did not deserve the discrimination she experienced over being on pain meds. I wouldn't recommend anyone go here who expects to be treated with dignity and respect.
