For the first time in my life I was asked what my concerns were and what I was looking to do. The dr is extremely thorough and explains everything. During my short waiting time I even heard one of the girls calling a patient just to check up on her after having a procedure (these little touches really matter). After X-rays and photos you sit with the dr to discuss your concerns and then he does a full exam. He even wanted to look closer on a few X-ray to see if I would need to have a filling redone. After almost being taken by another dentist claiming I had severe periodontal disease and insisted that I needed $7,000 worth of work done I was ecstatic to hear that I had no perio and that my hygiene was impeccable. Dr. Wasco is one of the good ones! He eased all of my anxiety and was honest with me about what his professional opinions were, and left the decision up to me. Any health care provider could take a few tips from him.

First, there was a previous receptionist who would remind me every time I called of a no call no show I had already apologized and explained what happened for. Yet I was given attitude from this lady every time I would call when it happened many months prior and was (I thought) a past issue. That lady is since gone but I also dealt with many scheduling issues on the dentist office's part. I've had multiple appointments that had been scheduled out 6 months in advance be cancelled on me last minute. I request these times off work and the office seemingly had no regard for my time, cancelling and trying to reschedule too many times to remember. This recent cancellation of theirs resulted in them not reaching out to me to reschedule and then ignoring my messages asking when they'd be rescheduling. My teeth have been bothering me following a root canal at this facility and they never rescheduled my cleaning. It was scheduled 6 months ago so as to not have any scheduling issues, yet time and time again I'm being cancelled on last minute- literally the day before my appointment. At that point I can't tell my boss I'm free and I'm losing out on income. VERY disappointed and frustrated to have to switch dentists but my entire family is leaving for the same reason.

When I tried to get my records sent to my new dentist they told me they would email them that day. They never sent them and never bothered to tell me they weren't sent. They claim is because they're switching staff, but this also happened to my husband who tried to switch a year before I did. Im extremely disappointed in their customer service. I'm definitely not going back.

I am 72 years old and have had a fear of dentists my entire life. For some reason or another any…read moredental procedure I have had has been extremely painful and uncomfortable. I have also endured procedures that were supposed to fix issues but resulted in making things worse. For that reason I have not gone to a dentist as often as I should have and the result was a lot of missing teeth. My fault, I understand that. If I had taken better care of my mouth and visited the dentist regularly I might have avoided a lot of trouble. Last year my wife was referred to Dr. Brent Van Hala by a friend. She came home telling me how much she liked his staff and their approach to dental work. She tried for several months to convince me to see Dr. Brent but I kept making excuses. Finally, late last year I made an appointment. I was sceptical but Dr. Brent came up with a game plan to fix my dental issues. I was very impressed with his chair-side manner and with his staff. I have had several procedures over the last year and I can say without any doubt that the results have been life changing! He has such compassion for the patients he serves. He is always very calm and caring as he works. I have never had such confidence in a dentist before. He also takes the time to keep up to date with the latest techniques and equipment. I was the world's worse sceptic when it came to dentists in general, but now I am singing the praises of Dr. Van Hala and his staff! Trust me, if Dr. Brent could turn me around then he can help anyone. I highly recommend Dr. Brent Van Hala!

Be VERY careful if you chose this practice for your dental care. There are two complaints below…read morethat are similar to my own. Here's my experience: I was told I needed a crown and given a printout of what I would owe after insurance - $259.20. I called twice to get verbal clarification and to confirm my cost. I was told by the office staff that they were very familiar with my insurance and knew exactly what my portion would be. Furthermore, I was told, they didn't need prior authorization to perform the procedure. So, I had two verbal confirmations in addition the written cost. Then, I was slapped with a bill for $648.00 from the dental group stating my insurance didn't cover as much as they thought. I filed a grievance with my insurance company who found the dental group never verified the insurance coverage and went off an old plan. To add insult to the injury, I was given a receipt AFTER the procedure that state it was my responsibility to fact check them and determine my exact cost. This dental group does not operate with competency or integrity. I would have never agreed to the procedure knowing I had to pay $900. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the attorney general consumer affairs. Apparently, they've done this at least twice before. It's a disgrace to operate a dental office this way. You can't help but think it has to do with $$$.
