Rozi's is a wine house located inside the historic Cook Office Building in the heart of Lakewood…read more The wine bar is pretty popular. I visited this wine bar on multiple occasions including most recently during Lakewood Chocolate Walk. AMBIANCE: Wine market meets casual wine bar. Dainty tables between wine aisles, small bar, and enclosed patio-like are your seating options. Most guests seem to be friend groups. Vibes and dress are casual. The building houses Rozi's Wine on the lower level, and various offices on the other floors. The includes beauty salon, and medical services. If you're visiting the building for any of the service you can just easily take the elevator down to Rozi's. Cook Office Building is supposedly haunted! WINE: Rozi's has a huge variety of wine for all budgets. There is a section of under $20 wines. Then an aisle away there is Dom Perignon. They also sell various beers from all the world (on tap and in cans). You can purchase wine by the bottle or by glass. I always opt into the glass option, which usually costs $10-12. You can also try samples to see if you'll like an entire bottle or glass. New options are constantly added to the menu. I tried the new orange wine from Sicily, Italy ($11). It was okay but not a favorite. It was pretty bland to me, not bold like I'd expect. Then again I have never had orange wine so take this with a grain of salt. I haven't yet discovered any memorable wines here. SERVICE: The service is transactional. I never feel like I can engage in a conversation about wine. I wish there would be more warmth. If you're looking for wine before dining on Detroit Road or need a bottle to go, this is your place. It's the only locally owned place I've seen on the West Side with such extensive selection.

I asked for the wi-fi password so I could try to get some work done while I was there. The lady behind the bar said she didn't know it, then spit sunflower seeds into her hand and walked away. It was gross for someone who prepares drinks to spit in their hands and it's also just rude to spit while talking to a customer. I didn't even finish my beer. I really wanted to get out of there.

They didn't even look at a military ID though scanned it right away without looking it up, but are eager to turn away valid out of state IDs. I will never go here again. I was told I should "take it as a compliment" that they had to look up my out of state ID, when the actual reason she "needed" to pull out her validation book to verify my ID was "IDs aren't supposed to bend" but it scans just fine and I'm clearly of age regardless.3 visits in a row as if she forgot about harassing me the previous visits. I am always polite, and you would be hard-pressed to find a more predictable, low-maintenance customer--I buy the same thing almost every time and end the transaction with "thank you" and drive away. The weekday/morning cashier with the dark hair is quick and efficient, but she is also consistently rude. She seems annoyed if I ask even the most basic question, which I rarely do. I understand that people who work with the public frequently deal with other difficult people. But taking that frustration out on polite, long-term regular customers is just bad business. I was willing to overlook the attitude for a very long time, but after ten years of this, I'll be going elsewhere.

It's like a wine shop meets date spot. I've been here multiple times over the years for dates, solo evenings, and Cleveland Heights Neighborhood Beer Crawl. Wine Spot was a nice backdrop for all these days. INVENTORY: You'll find an entire long wall of various wines organized by the type of wine. You'll find Dom Perignon and wines under $35 coexisting in the same space. You'll also find beers, THC drinks, sake, and a lot more. You'll also find so much beyond wine - sardines, chocolate, and gift baskets. It's an ideal location to shop for gifts and build a basket. I don't have any particular recommendations. I usually ask staff for recommendations and gravitate toward white wines. Except during CLE Beer week I tried two different beers here - Executive Decision by the Butcher and the Brewer, Yakima Chief Forward from Fat Heads Brewery. AMBIANCE: Market vibes with tables and bar available for guests. The ambiance is nice, casual, quiet enough for a date. There is a lot of space for groups including a private room. SERVICE: Service is pretty friendly but tends to be slower. What I love about here is that they can chill wine bottles upon purchase. You can immediately go home with a chilled bottle of wine and get into your evening. Aside from this reason, there are plenty to do at the winery - events, monthly wine club, and more. Long story short, visit!
