Other than selling flowers, Aroha also offer a small selection of gifts. It's the usual gifts you would give to someone when you're giving them flowers. Things such as teddy bears, baskets and vases. They even have balloons! This is a genuinely lovely flowers and gifts store, they have a wide range to choose from. Next time you feel like buying flowers for a friend or a loved one, I suggest checking this place out.

I found out that night, only by chance asking the person if they had arrived (as they have more important things to worry about than discuss flowers, like funeral arrangements) that they had not been delivered. I called today to enquire about this, and was advised that the delivery staff had visited the house twice, but as no one was home, left them by a roller door. Keeping in mind this is in about 30 degree heat. No one bothered to call me to get a contact number for the recipient, who had been home all day. I just received a call from them saying they had heard from someone at that address and they had delivered to the wrong STREET. Said they would collect them when the person at the wrong address gets home from work after 5pm and then redeliver them tomorrow?! I exclaimed that surely the flowers would be dead by then, having been outside in the heat for 2 days. They said would do a new bunch, but offered no form of compensation. The suggestion was made that it was my fault, to which I replied I was reading the address from my address book in front of me, plus we have been visiting the house for many years and there is no way I would have said anything else. No apology whatsoever. No offer of a refund. No sensitivity to the purpose of the flowers. Shocking service.

For such a small shop (come to think of it, most florists are small), Burnside Florist has a diverse range of flowers and plants, all impeccably arranged and decorated. The shop assistants are incredibly friendly, and very helpful with making difficult choices. When I came here with my girlfriend to buy flowers for a friend, we didn't bring too many ideas with us. The girl behind the counter gave us lots of different ideas for both the plants and their wrapping, and informed us of each kind of flower's longevity. My first impression was that it didn't look that great from the outside. A little bit tacky and cheap maybe. Well, in this case, don't rely on your first impression. They sell very beautiful flowers in the most amazing colours. I'm not a big fan or connoisseur of flowers but I can still tell when I see perfect roses or orchids. The selection is not immense as the shop is quite small, but if you're after a bouquet for a special occasion, you'll definitely find something here. There is a touch of kitsch, or should I say romance, to their shop that is reflected in the wrapping papers used for the flowers (pink, red, purple etc.) but when you look at each bouquet individually it isn't as bad. Prices start at around $30 and most bouquets costs between 50 and 100 bucks. I don't think that's cheap at all but I really don't have a clue about the cost of flowers.
