It's a miniature train vehicle that goes around the town of Faro town and its highlights. It doesn't actually run on tracks, so it's more like a bus shaped like a train with individual trailing cars. Departs near the harbour and takes you on a 40-50 minute ride. Some of the areas it drove through just seemed like odd choices, think a lot of graffiti coated concrete walls, and not the talented type of art. I was actually surprised at how run down some parts of Faro was. It's something to do for a handful of euros. I was placed in a car with 10 french people as the only non-French person and they were adamant about speaking French to me even though I made it clear I know about ten words of the language. You get an information sheet of all the stops you pass by, written in multiple languages and there is a recording reading out the same thing, no live guide. Faro doesn't have that many memorable highlights, but this tour gives you an overview, so could be a good idea to start with this when you first arrive. read more
