There is a counter to order food and coffee on both sides. It was very crowded - less so on the women's side, but very hard to find a place to sit on the weekend! Overall a nice swimming area.

Ok, I came for my first lunch swim today, and NOW I know what all the hype is about. The left side…read moreis only for women, and the right side is co-ed. CHF 7 lets you in... but we got discount tickets at CHF 3 from my company. :) The bar sells food and drinks, or you can bring your own picnic. A free pitcher of water with plastic cups was laid out on a small table. There is a changing room to hang your clothes, and we laid out our towels in the last bit of shade. No one except little fish actually swim in the little square of water in the middle of the platform. We went out into the lake and swam to one of the floating platforms. The water was a bit chilly at first, but it was a nice contrast to the hot sun. Afterwards, we rinsed off at the outdoor shower and then laid out in the sun to dry before heading back to the office. What a fabulous way to spend lunch! :)

Very few swings, no basket swing. There is a sand pit. Great place to picnic as there are three tables. The only drawback is the graffiti all over everything! Why the city doesn't clean it is beyond me as they know it is there. No toilets and no place to buy beverages or food either so be sure to pack your own. You can easily spend an hour or two here and young kids will be entertained.

This is a very conveniently located store near the Zurich Casino... I so want to give this store a…read more4+ star rating, but it loses 2 stars for (1) running out of things and not appearing to care that items are out of stock (2) employees seem to try and help you at first, but when the going gets tough, they don't really seem to be bothered to going the entire way through b/c their time is more valuable or whatever the real story is. Why do it if you're only half in it? There is a good assortment of sporting goods here, whilst they try to deliver on range; they fail short in delivering. For example, I was looking for 2kg hand weights, and they sold out of every type of hand weights in 2kg. I chased down an employee who just told me sorry no more. That's it. There was no, I'll have a check at the stock room, or oh I'll call the one in Dietlikon to see if they have one, or hey maybe you should go on line and check (they do have a website you can order things from). So I went to Dietlikon location and even worse was despite the fact the store is bigger and in a remote area - they failed short of having any weights nor did anyone bother to help me. I only came here b/c it's so convenient and also a friend gave me a gift card that I wanted to use. I was on a tram today and it went by a Migros SportXX, so I figured I'd check their online store. Their online store is way better than Athleticum's, selection was much more varied and easier to find (the search tool at Altheticum website was not very clear and didn't give the exact search returns, Migro SportXX was a breeze) and the best is - the shipping is "gratis" (free), unlike Athleticum which charged me CHF 7.50 shipping for a similar item I was going to buy at Migros SportXX. So I saved a lot of time traveling to hunt for items while getting free shipping, and earning Migros punkte (points), thanks Migros!

Well worth the visit - Zurich Zoo is more of a conservation project than zoo. The Zoo stretches over a fairly large park with smaller focused areas with animal specific regions. Signage is pretty good plus they give you a map. There is a very impressive atrium, Masoala Rainforest, with lush tropical vegetation, animals and a waterfall. There is also a canopy top observation point accessible via a circular staircase. They have zebras, giraffes, elephants (to name a few) in large indoor and outdoor spaces. There is an aquarium area, with penguins, plus petting areas with goats and kid friendly zones. There is also a little train that you can ride around to see some of the exhibits. Definitely worth the trip, allow 3-4 hours minimum if you want to see most of the exhibits.

We purchased at the ticket booth but you can also save a little more by purchasing online. Prices are on par with any big city zoo I've ever been to. This zoo is large, clean and well thought out. There are childrens play areas spread throughout. The animal enclosures are, for the most part, large with spaces for the animals to get away from the crowds. There is plenty of shade throughout the zoo. We drove here and found paid street parking easily. There is public transportation nearby and also a place to park your bicycles.
