From the initial phone call with the owner Valencia , to the staff was a great experience. Valencia…read more, assured me over the phone that my niece's hair and well being would be taken care of . She listened to my concerns and I didn't feel rushed . I expressed to Valencia , the concerns of the braider being child friendly and that I could bring my own braiding hair . She stated that bringing my own hair was absolutely acceptable. Since the makeup of her clientele is children ages 3-18, she assured me the staff would be understanding of my nieces needs. She was so nice over the phone and answered all of my questions. It was very simple to book the appointment with a 25.00 deposit to hold her spot . As the appointment time was near I received reminder text messages until the last 30 minutes to the appointment time. If you set an appointment with Kiddos and forget the date and time , it's definitely your fault . The text messages may have been automated possibly, but regardless it will be your fault for sure . There is an open parking lot and it's relatively small but It wasn't difficult to find parking . The shop is located on a one way street. Therefore beware that same way you came will not be the same direction you will leave . Just for your information ( during this time period) the road adjacent to the shop is under construction as well . I can imagine that causing frustration on a busy time of day . Thankfully , appointment wasn't on a very busy day . When I arrived , there were only two clients which were children of course . I don't think I've ever been to a salon where it's child based. The braiders acknowledge our presence when we walked in and advised me to sign in at the front desk upon arrival. The manager informed me that the assigned braider was on her way . Once she arrived she walked right over to us with a smile . She introduced jerked as Alexis and she took my niece to the back for a shampoo . Typically she's afraid to get her hair shampooed but she was calm and excited to get her hair done. Ms. Alexis , was very nice to her and talked to her the way anyone that's experienced with children should . She addressed me as Auntie since I told her I was her aunt . Which was perfect , so that my niece wouldn't address me by my first name , later on. As a content creator I took video of the experience ( no other kids were recorded ) In fact my nieces face wasn't exposed as well. I asked Ms. Alexis if she was ok with being on film . She obliged. It was an over all great experience! Ms. Alexis was so nice and friendly as the other braiders . We all laughed together and told a few jokes . It was all appropriate around children . They made me feel like we'd been attending the salon for years . I fact there were children who had been coming for hair services for years . The children were so cute . I love children and I think it's nice to have a salon catered just for them . It should be a barber shop only for children . When Ms. Alexis finished her hair. It was so beautiful. She had a pretty blue bow in her hair which was free with a hairstyle. She was photo ready for sure ! She smiled and loved her hair . As we left the other braiders assured her she was pretty in her new hairstyle. I thought that was so nice of them . All of the ladies there who were braiding hair that day were so talented . They really knew their stuff! What touched me the most is seeing fathers bringing their daughters in for hair services. Some carried their little princess in their arms . As a society , we don't give fathers their flowers enough. There's some great dads out there. Shout out to the dads who bring their girls to kiddos !! It was so nice to see. I will be bringing my niece back !!

I have been wanting to try this salon for a long time and decided to call one tuesday for the silk…read morepress special. I was told I could come in right away. Well, there is no special because I was charged the same price, not the Tuesday price on the website. The stylist also casually asked if I wanted a steam treatment, a $30 addtl fee but I asked the add-on charge while at the bowl getting washed and was able to make an informed decision. Otherwise, would have been really taken off guard at checkout. The press was well executed, however I specifically asked twice to not have tight curls....and when I was spun around to look in the mirror - I had tight curls all over my head. So I kindly repeated, I really don't want tight curls and she attempted to adjust, adding more heat. Everyone was pretty nice when I entered, the salon is moderately clean and not very loud. I just wish I got what I asked for and at the advertised price.

Yes, this is Carlos, Sheena.. I just made it through your word salad…read more You reached out to me after Doordashing some food to a celebrity female client of mine (23 year relationship) and asking who did her hair. This client has naturally curly hair and gets NO chemical process, just a HAIRCUT. You asked for a similar style. You sent me a picture of a lady wearing a wig that looked Puerto Rican and told me at least four times that your hair was BADLY damaged. After wasting my time and making me skip lunch by breaking our original appointment for the day, you rescheduled for 10:30 a.m. the following day. OK, Fine. After blowing my phone up with 9 o'clock text messages, you finally stumbled in at 10:52 a.m. disheveled, in an apparent stupor and reeking of cigarettes/morning spiked beverage(s)?, which totally throws off my schedule because I was booked (and busy) for the day and even 1 late appointment throws everything off for subsequent clients. You texted me before you walked in that you were in the parking lot and would have a "red bandana on" because of the amount of chemical damage you had going on but I assured you that none would be the wiser when you left. Once you took off the bandana everything changed.. Your hair was 1.5 inches of unkempt, overly curly (super nappy) hair that was a little velcro matted afro, with 2+ inches of over-processed (burnt out) and color damaged hair growing out the top of it. 65% of your hair was split ends because AS YOU INFORMED ME, you "be doing" your hair YOURSELF with over-the-counter products and box color. I couldn't/wouldn't contribute to your self inflicted hair damage because I simply do not use those types of products, ma'am. More than anything, you needed a precise cut because your overly processed and color damaged hair was 65% split ends. Everything starts at having a precise cut. During your service you kept fidgeting in the chair, and talking across the room loudly to the lock stylist while moving your head around. That had me wondering what other chemicals you are using on yourself. The more you spoke, the more I could tell you love your morning beverage(s). #hiccup I cut your hair to the level where you would be free to go and damage it some more when you get home with your inferior products and add more heat damage to it on YOUR time with your curling irons.. but you definitely made my 20+ year client in the chair uncomfortable and my next (6 month) client uncomfortable as they both later asked me if you were a "street person". I sensed the vibe that you would be a bit difficult when you asked if you could look over my shoulder while I finished the lady before you (which made her obviously nervous) but I serviced you against my spidey senses because of who sent you. Your attempts at carrying on a conversation with me fell flat because of your erratic movements and hygiene as I was trying to stay on schedule and also stop holding my breath.. :/ When I got done, you said that it wasn't what how you wanted it, put the little bandana back on, paid and walked out. You did not voice all of this to me at the time but I guess you're trying to damage my business and also report me to the shop owner.. OK I've been a licensed COSMETOLOGIST since October 1996 Sheena, but I do not have a magic wand. My only regrets are: 1) letting you talk me into not taking a "before" picture and 2) not refusing you service because of WHO sent ya.. This could've been dealt with privately (because you met me privately), but since you think you're going over my head with this we have to talk about it right here, in the middle of the street and I'm #exactly who you should engage with because I had just enough time today.
