Tour of tacos: Chorizo, Pollo, Al Pastor, Carnitas and Barbacoa (from top left)
    Marc G.

Stopped into an unfamiliar part of town for a quick taco lunch. The menu is reminiscent of a typical NYC bodega; breakfast sandwiches, cold cut sammies, tacos, burritos, and all manner of other handhelds. I decided to make a taco sampler; one each of chicken, chorizo, barbacoa, al pastor, and carnitas, with a large horchata on the side. The service was quick, and the tacos were properly garnished with cilantro and chopped red onion, and served with hefty chunks of lime and picked radish slices. The hot sauces (pro tip; get both red AND green) were completely on point; not the watery mess you get at some places, but thick purées, peppery goodness. I'd say that they have the best hot sauces I've had in Nashville. The chicken was good; nothing to write home about, but flavorful and moist. The pork is where they shine; the al pastor, carnitas and chorizo were all first rate. I practically swallowed them whole. Total for 5 tacos and a large Horchata? $14. Very highly recommended for a taco lunch near Nolensville Road, but a bit off the beaten path. I can't wait to try the hot chicken burrito and the breakfast sammies!

The food is great and the service is fast! Everything is tasty and I highly recommend you trying it out!

    Steak and cheese Quesadilla

Ordered the steak and cheese quesadilla with pico de gallo! 10/10 for taste and appearance. I also got the chips and queso and they were a little pricey but well worth it!

Five stars! Service is great, they're very nice and the food comes out pretty quickly. I've tried about 5 things on the menu but I recommend keeping it simple with Burritos, tacos and Tortas.

The food is legit. Tacos are good and so are the el pastor burritos. Supporting small businesses is my deal. So I will be returning for more tacos.

I had a grilled fish taco and a tuna salad tostada. Yes I said tuna salad tostada! The fish was grilled perfectly! The seasonings were on point! The tuna fish tostada was surprisingly light and refreshing! This is definitely a summertime dish! Probably serves with some lemonade. And the cucumbers on the side... Excellent! Very much is summertime dish.

YUM!! Stopped in here for an early dinner and they hooked us up! They have every kind of meat you can think of including lengua, barbacoa, shrimp, fish, house made chorizo... as well as all the usuals: carne asada, chicken, carnitas. AND nothing on the menu is more than like 7 or 8 bucks. They also have house made salsas but be warned they are *very* spicy. I'll admit I don't have the highest heat tolerance but even the spice lovers in my group thought it was way up there on the heat scale. In addition to the tacos, quesadillas, burritos, etc, they have a butcher counter with many many cuts of all types of meat and they also make deli sandwiches - gonna have to try next time! I know there are a lot of Mexican spots in this neighborhood to choose from, but this one is not to be missed!

Choose between Appetizers, Tacos and Entrees and the kitchen will serve up dishes that are brought to you at intervals. Standout items we tried are, ranked from best-to-least, were: 1) Steak & Eggs 2) Papas Chorizo Skillet 3) Chicken & Waffle 4) Breakfast Taco 5) Al Pastor Taco 6) Biscuit & Gravy The biscuit I loved, she didn't. It's very thick and dense, so will depend on your preference. Some of the tastiest overall Mexican-style breakfast's we've har! DRINKS: The all-you-can-drink option adds $$ (I think $20-25/person), so it isn't cheap... but is worthwhile if your group loves Mimosa's, Vodka's, Bloody Mary's and fresh Fruit Juices. To their credit, Federales' service staff POURS THE DRINKS CONSTANTLY lol. They brought out bottle after bottle, esp for the Mimosa's. We enjoyed it and felt this was part of the experience there - chill out, sink into the vibe, enjoy live music and loosen up while sitting in a modern open-air concept with everyone around smiling and feeling good ... In conclusion, this rivals Adele's for my favorite Nashville brunch spot. The two have very different vibes, and I highly recommend checking out Federales!

This place came recommended from a friend and it seemed exciting to go to the restaurant of a singer! It is right in the heart of the downtown bar area. We had a very large group of people on a Saturday night. We had a bit of a wait as they do not take reservations. They seated us upstairs all together sort of at a row of tables separate but all on a row which worked out ok. We were there to celebrate a 21st birthday. They did say Happy Birthday but nothing special beyond that was given or provided which was a little disappointing but I think everyone in Nashville is celebrating something so I get it. Service was very good. Chips with salsa and guacamole was provided upon seating for everyone. When requested more was provided. We had one person who was Gluten Free and they appeared to take care in explaining options as well as answering any questions people had. Drinks were refilled and kept flowing (alcoholic ones). And for a busy Saturday night meals came out in a good timing. Everyone enjoyed their meal although one person had bitten into something hot and did not like it and they were happy to replace the meal. The meal that I had was fantastic! The steak quesadilla. The steak was tender and extremely flavorful. Honestly I had been a bit hesitant to order steak due to being very picky over steak quality. But I was very happy with it! Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and at the end of the meal the server actually was ok with splitting up the ticket even tho we were a very large group which many many establishments refuse to do so this made me very pleased! Oh they had a live band playing on the first floor which was nice. There is an elevator at the back of the restaurant which is nice for those unable or just not wanting to climb a flight of stairs . The flower wall with the Nashville name on it made such a great backdrop for photos! They had two unisex bathrooms on the first floor. I would definitely recommend and go back to this place!

The fact that Savannah's was right next door made it even more fun I stopped in on Taco Tuesday around lunchtime, and it was the perfect time to visit. There was a nice crowd, but it wasn't overly busy. I even picked up a Casa Rosa T-shirt as a souvenir after settling in at the bar. The highlight of my visit was Johnny, the bartender. I told him I wanted something sweet with tequila, and he created the perfect drink. I honestly don't know what he made, but it was so good I ordered a second one! We also discovered we're both from Chicago, which made for great conversation and made the experience feel even more welcoming. Johnny recommended the tacos, and they absolutely lived up to the hype. They were fresh and flavorful. Pair those tacos with two amazing tequila drinks, live music from a fantastic band, and my total bill came to under $50. If you're looking for a great lunch spot with good food, excellent drinks, live music, and outstanding service, Casa Rosa is definitely worth a stop. And if Johnny is behind the bar, you're in great hands. I can't wait to make it back to Nashville, and hopefully one day I'll get lucky enough to visit while Miranda Lambert is there!
