We believe playing is critical to learning, and encourage creative projects, guided and independent play time, and faith-based curriculum. We are passionate about cultivating a true love of learning. That begins with an inspiring space and caring teachers who are experts in guiding children on their path to success. Our three tiered program allows young children to learn alongside their age group, and progress at the Center as they grow. From our Infant and Toddler Program to our Preschool Program and After School Program, children ages 2 weeks to 12 years old thrive. Families from all backgrounds and income levels have found a home at our organization which is part of what makes our Happy Hearts Learning Center so special. Our beautiful Center was Built in 2004 by Jesse and Pam Friedue, the original owners of the childcare center. This 5,500 square foot building is currently licensed to care for 98 children. We purchased the space in 2019 and rebranded to Happy Hearts Learning Center. Today, we are led by Director JaMesha Price. Enjoy peace of mind while you’re away, knowing that your child is in a safe environment, having fun and learning new things!

We encountered issues and when we addressed them with the director, we were given excuse after excuse and things continued to deteriorate. Then, a new child in our child's class started biting other children including our daughter, and sometimes it happened every day. The director's way of handling the situation was to 'continue to train the staff and monitor the child more closely.' Needless to say, the behavior continued and then they started removing the child who was being bitten (not the child who was actually biting other children) and taking them to a younger classroom so they had to miss out on the activities happening in their class. We finally had to remove our daughter from this center when it became clear that nothing was going to be done to protect the children being victimized by another child who had displayed a clear pattern of behavior that needed to be handled in a more deliberate fashion but went largely ignored. Another child who was being victimized was also removed from the center about the same time as our daughter by her parents because they were met with the same response from the director. Our daughter was also constantly sick, which may be a given when a bunch of children are together all day. However, it resulted in her having to have surgery and she was STILL sick all the time afterwards. Now that she is no longer attending this center, she no longer struggles with being sick constantly. And, of course, when we addressed this concern with the director, we were met with excuses. The main root of the problem at this center is that the director is incapable, or simply unwilling, of actually solving problems, and instead resorts to blaming the staff and making excuses to placate the parents. The teaching staff did everything they could to help us with this situation but their hands were tied since the director wouldn't do anything about it. The turnover rate at this center is ridiculously high, and is reportedly due to the director making it a hostile workplace that teachers don't want to work in. There are also reports of infestations of mice and cockroaches in the buildings.

They take walks to a local park, plenty of outdoor time ( which is sooooo important for little boys , especially!!) , yoga, Spanish , lots of cool crafts and projects... they even have a mini garden the kids get to help with!!!!!! He loves picking things in the garden best! :). She does a wonderful job of balancing education, hands on learning, physical and emotional development, while still allowing rime to just be a kid and ponder the amazing world around you! One of my favorite things about her that she feeds them so healthy!! He actually LOVES broccoli and veggies, thanks to Ms. Amber!!! This is priceless to me, as his health and well being are soo important to me! Not a lot of sugar here! She serves predominantly organic foods , which I especially love!!!! They always do special things for holidays. She uses a curriculum and does preschool as well to ensure your child is reading ready for school! He loves how much fun it is. I love all the value she gives by going far above and beyond what most providers do!! What a blessing she has been for my grandson!! You cannot go wrong with her!!

Under new ownership, she walks in from day one and promised staff that nothing was going to change. Lies! Few months go by and things started changing slowly. They changed the curriculum to Highscope. Which is junk, especially for the area it is located in. They lack communication, and will give parents and staff a one day notice of changes. Oh, and they also fire you over email with no real explanation as to why except "Adjustments are being made to align with programming needs." What they really mean is, "You make too much for our budget and we want to get staff in that we can pay less." If you like making chump change, being walked all over, under appreciated, being lied to your face regularly and getting fired through email. Putting up with kids hitting, biting, cussing you out and overly worked using Highscope, then I say this is a perfect place for you. It's truly sad what it has become. I honestly enjoyed working with the staff. They don't realize firing people who have been there before new ownership, have built relationships with staff, children and their families, will not look good for them. Wyndotte is a different kind of place. And they will not take to kindly of these changes and firing people who they've learned to trust with their little ones.
