I went in there about 6 months ago as I had a powerful electric bike so I asked if they had a vacancy for a delivery driver, there was this middle aged old chinese lady with glasses on (I will refer to her appearance as I don't know her name) she told me that she already had a driver and she will keep my number. Several months later, I was doing uber eats and deliveroo on my bike. The lady called me up mid week around 12 afternoon on the pretext that I could start working for her at 5pm as she needed a driver. I thought about it as I was already doing another gig, then I thought why not? They might give me free food, I may enjoy it. So I politely replied, OK see you at 5pm after discussing her wages with me. I was a bit excited and curious as I didn't know how it would be as I haven't worked doing deliveries for a small business ie takeaway for a very long time so I was going into the unknown. When I got there at 5pm, I had all intentions to work, be respectful, professional and have manners. Also I wanted customers to get there food on time and for them to be happy. They are a small family business, her husband is one of the chefs and so is she. Once I started doing deliveries she kept talking to me in a very rude tone of voice, you know moaning. To be honest I'm trying to do my job and keep my mind calm so I can get to the customers on time, that was wholly my intention. Now when this lady is moaning at me, I was feeling confused, what have I done wrong, it was making feel uncomfortable and agitated. I mean who does this to an employee with a good character like me in this day and age. She was super rude. She continued to do this for the next three days, so I planned to take my wages on Saturday and leave, as they are closed on Sunday. Sunday came and I told her you need to treat hard working, honest workers with respect and manners, she sat there in silence and didn't respond and her husband too. I walked out and didn't come back. The next day she proceeded to block my number and watsapp. I was utterly confused as to why she had called me and then once I started working started to abuse me. Very cunning lady. I dont know why she was discriminating against me, furthermore I dont even know her or have nothing against her. My intention was to work, make money, pay my bills. Unfortunately I was taken there to be stressed out and I just wasted my time. As you can see from all my reviews, I write with integrity. Believe all the negative reviews about this Chinese takeaway and maybe she treats all her workers and drivers like this or maybe she picks and chooses how to treat people, you know different folks different strokes. Should be given 0 star, if I had the option. Anyway I have gone back to Uber eats and Deliveroo. Please go somewhere else. read more
