Exploring the trails were the reason we came to this location this afternoon. We did bring our dogs and kept them on leash the full time without any issues! The dogs loved the fresh air & being in nature. If possible I would deduct a half star for the user friendliness of the trails. The trails intertwined, overlapped, & were not marked well for first timers. There was a post with multiple trails at the start & a map. However, there were not any other markers after, even when the trails overlapped & intersected. Overall a wonderful location!! Just plan some extra time to trouble shoot the trails if your a first timer like we were!

Both outfits are LGBTQ centered groups. You wouldn't think so from the outside, but they put on some pretty great productions here. HOWEVER, their brand of art isn't for the faint of heart. HOF Fitness Center is a great place to work out if you can stomach the 70s paint scheme and some of…read morethe out-of-date equipment. I have been working out here for many years, off and on, and haven't had anyone shout "Fatty fatty 2x4" for some time so the place must be effective. They have a smattering of racquetball courts and there are some very, very, very sweaty men in them sometimes. I like to pretend they are just sweaty fish in a giant aquarium and that helps me cope. The locker rooms (at least the guys) is well appropriated and has shaving cream, after shave, etc. and gives off a very "old guard" feel. Upstairs they have a weight room which seems to have a 20:1 guy to girl ratio, which freaks my date out a bit from time to time but no "tough guys" have given her any problems. Check it out, they have an indoor running track. I think that it's 1/10 of a mile so if you use it you get the feel of running around a giant banyan tree. On an island in the middle of the running track (sounds more exotic than it is) they have all the cardio equipment. They have a cute little board that you can use to sign up for equipment and there is this guy named "Cookie" who works out there and my date always changes the i-dot in "Cookie" to a heart when she can, which we find to be a really good time. Give "Cookie" a shout out if you see him; he's a crusty looking, shorter fellow. You'll know what I mean if you see him. The good thing is that there is never much of a crowd here so you can pretty much use whatever equipment you want when you want it. However, here is the highlight of the HOF Fitness Center: you know those fat-shakers that are basically like a big rubber band that you put around your midsection and don't appear to have any fitness value whatsoever but are always featured in workout videos from the 50's? THEY HAVE ONE OF THOSE! We saw a guy using it one day in all seriousness and it's probably one of the best things I've ever seen in my entire life. The facility is fairly large and also has both an indoor and outdoor pool, saunas, whirlpool, tennis and basketball courts and even batting cages. They also have a little restaurant so if you overdid it during the workout you can get your sea legs back. The classes that they offer are great and the teachers I've encountered are all very friendly. I don't have a monthly membership now but when I've been in town they have let me pay a per visit fee ($5, I think?). It's a great place to work out. The $5 is worth it alone if you see someone using that fat-shaker or if you have a "Cookie" sighting.

I immediately got my family out, but shockingly, they continued children's swimming lessons in that same pool, exposing everyone to potential infections and harmful bacteria like E. coli. I was very surprised, as the staff usually reacts strongly to smaller issues. For example, when I first signed up, one of the female staff members, a very thin brunette, aggressively and disrespectfully yelled at my family and another woman with her daughter over a simple mistake--we brought a floaty, unaware it wasn't allowed. We aren't allowed to use noodles or dive with goggles unless we're paying for swimming lessons. How does that make sense? While some staff members are nice, others act like we're uninvited, unwelcome guests in their house, enforcing unnecessary and unreasonable rules in a rude and bossy manner. This is the first pool I've ever been to where noodles are banned, but apparently, swimming with dead birds is okay. I gave 2 stars because the pool is really beautiful and the water is often warm and pleasant. Too bad for everything else.

I don't think this is a great park for picnics because upon entry, I only saw one picnic table with benches so other people will have to sit on the ground if the table is occupied. Sitting on the ground is fine but it may not be convenient for some people. This park is a good option for walking or taking a mini hike with friends and family.
