I was in the process of transitioning from full color to my natural gray. The color I had used turned into a reddish-brown which now was clashing with my natural salt and pepper. Mindy did some lowlights to help blend the old with the new, and although there's not a whole lot you can do with such a huge contrast in colors, it certainly was a big improvement in making the transition. When I booked my appointment, Mindy didn't have anything available for 7 days which is typically a good sign. I received multiple texts and emails confirming my appointment, understandably to ensure I would be there. The day of my 12 p.m. appointment I received a text at 11:30 asking if I could push my appointment to 1:30 because she was running behind. 1:10 rolls around and I receive another text asking me to come at 2 p.m. I arrive to my appointment 15 minutes late, unintentionally. When I used the map provided by Yelp, I was taken to a location 1 mile from the salon. Yelp shows the correct address, but the map doesn't go to the correct place and it was a paid advertisement so that seems unacceptable. It isn't beyond me to spend anywhere from $70-$200 on quality hair maintenance, but not only was I charged an additional $10 to have my hair dried, the method of blow drying it involved pointing a blow dryer straight down towards my roots so I walked out with a completely flat style. I usually feel bad when I leave the salon because my hair looks so good I don't want to waste it by not going out. Not the case here. Won't be cheating on my stylist in Dallas again. read more

I was so nervous about coloring/lightening my natural hair color. I had a bleaching 'incident' several years ago, where I tried to bleach my own hair and melted it off. I found Mindy here on Yelp, and she is awesome! She lightened my length, and I love it. My hair isn't damaged badly, because she doesn't put you under a dryer with bleach in your hair. It's very damaging to use heat on bleach, but every hair dresser I have gone to, does it, except for Mindy. The process takes longer, over an hour to lighten, but it's worth the wait. My hair isn't fried, it looks great, I love it. She's in Britton and Co. Salon, in the Summit building on University. All the gals there are super nice, it's a cute two story salon, and there is a water pond with fish right outside the door. She's not pushy, she doesn't try to talk you into buying a lot of stuff, or doing extra work on your hair. Mindy is definitely the person to go to, she will make you look awesome! read more

The lady who washed my hair was too rough as she rubbed my head with the towel, creating knots. To make matters worse, the stylist proceeded to quickly comb my wet hair from the ROOTS to ends, which caused a bunch of breakage and damage. They should know to comb from the bottom-up. I got left with broken hairs sticking up from where I part my hair. The highlights came out a nice color though. read more

BEWARE! USE with CAUTION, BEWARE! Be werry, be careful. I scheduled an appt for highlights and low lights. I met her in person and she saw my hair and said she could do it. When I got there she was 45 minutes behind and had me wait in an unused hair drying chair. Nothing to do, no tv or magazines. When she began she reconfirmed I wanted highlights and low lights. She started putting bleach all over my hair and put no low lights in it. She then had me sit for 30 minutes back in the same waiting chair she had me waiting in before. No heat on my hair and thats usually what every hairstylist does for me. Then when the lady rinsing my hair used Hot water, she was rude and didnt even act like she liked her job, very careless and tacky by complaining about her job duties. When she was done rinsing my hair out Mindy asked me what do I think? she completely bleached all my hair, no highlights or low-lights just blonde. She charged me 120.00 and my hair is a short bob. Mindy didnt even trim my hair well its aweful. I gave her a 20.00 tip and she convinced me that I will love my hair and all her constomers rave about her. She must have had a really bad day with my hair. I am so upset and feel betrayed by a hair stylist named mindy deane. She lost my respect and I fear for others that she could do this to. I should have not cheated on my original hair stylist with mindy, what a mistake I regret! Mindy clearly needs to watch youtube videos on how to do highlights and low lights and how to cut a modern bob for the year 2018! Worst of all I could tell she was doing everything wrong, I went against my gut instinct and said to myself I must not be feeling well, but what is was is my nerves telling me she was not doing my hair correctly, I even showed her a picture of my hair before she did it. Mindy could clearly see I had highlights and lowlights. It had only been 3 months since I had my hair last highlighted it just grew out. This has been nearly 6 months ago and I still get comments on what happened to my hair! I have had to let my hair grow out and lots of moisturizing hair masks and hair conditioning agents. If any one trys to give her a chance its like gambling, be careful and I hope that your hair turns out beautiful because I do not wish this misery and humiliation on anyone.
