She takes the time to listen to you and has no judgment whatsoever. I use Telehealth to do my appointments and it is very fast and easy. When I do in-person (which isn't often) it is so clean and organized inside. The waiting room has coffee, different drinks and snacks while you wait for your doctor. I was on work comp due to some mystery illness and then unemployed due to the same. I actually reached out to Dr. Lardon about ADHD. He got my back story in just trying to approach the ADHD when he mentioned that he might be able to help me with my mystery illness. I did not believe him since the injury was always assumed to be physical nerve damage. Shocker, Dr. Lardon WAS able to help me, prescribed medication that ended a two-plus year intractable problem, and allowed me to have a successful career. I see Dr. Lardon to this day and hope he never retires or fires me as a patient.

I believe she must have spoken with Dr. Braun's answering service--whom she shares with other physicians-- about scheduling an appointment. Dr. Braun's practice is always full, and it's true, she doesn't accept insurance. I don't believe every therapist has to accept insurance. A patient can choose from the abundance of therapists in San Diego that do. What I do not believe is that she ever said she "doesn't have any time or duty or concern to give referrals, even to families in need". In the 10+ years I saw her for severe PTSD, anxiety and depression, she offered nothing but outstanding therapy and incredible compassion. We can all have a bad day; but to write such a scathing review about someone--especially a professional whom you only spoke to once--and to make them sound so heartless and selfish after speaking to someone their answering service, is wrong. Dr. Braun put more heart and soul into me than anyone ever has. I was an extremely difficult patient due to a protracted history of extreme child abuse and I often pushed back on her hard, often sometimes more harshly than I wish I had, yet she never, ever let me push her away. I could easily write 20 pages praising her skills, empathy and compassion. What I will say is that she gave me a life that I never expected I could have. She worked with me with everything she had, even at the end when I became angry and cruel because I knew my therapy was ending. I've had many regrets in life, but none that come close to the shame, guilt, and embarrassment I experienced because of my treatment of her at the end of my therapy. If you are are in need of a highly skilled therapist, and she has availability, I can't recommend her enough.

Her only standard response (3 other people called to try and get appt.'s and got the same response) is that she's not taking new patients and doesn't have any time or duty or concern to give referrals even to families in need. This practice should not be licensed because this failure to supervise her support staff underlings and the utilization of telling at-risk patients to get lost regardless of ability to pay is depraved indifference to human life. Don't refer patients or use the services of Judith S. Braun, M.D.
