Maybe it is the position of the store, it is set up in a small complex off Main Road in Blackwood. The signage could be better. I actually stumbled across the store when I was stopping in the pet supplies store next door. I absolutely love books so much and I am constantly looking for cool book destinations. In particular, I prefer second hand books. There are so many classics out there that I love to add to my book collection. What will you find here? Well, actually everything! Classics, educational, fiction, children's, history, building, etc... You name it, you will probably find the book you need here. The shop is seriously jam-packed. All of the walls and shelving are covered. So, be prepared to spend a little time here having a good look. Also, if you are having troubles locating what you are after, be sure to speak to the lovely owner. He is such a gentleman and happy to help you find what you need! There are two types of books I am constantly looking for: Philosophy and classic children's books. Weird mix, I know. But, these are two types of books I love. I have found some great titles here including David Hume (Philosopher) and The Magic Faraway Tree (Classic Children's). Please do go out of your way to find this store, you will not regret it!

On the other hand, if you happen to want help it's there for the asking and the people offering it actually know what they are talking about which makes a refreshing change. There are books there on any topic the average book buyer could want and then some. It's a place best visited when you have time to browse and wallow in the offerings on display; it takes time as just when you think you've seen it all you turn a corner and find more bookcases. It's a book lovers wonderland. Prices are better than in any other bookshop I've visited. I realise the above probably sounds over effusive, but if you visit BBE I guarantee you'll leave with great books and a big smile on your face. I know, I've done it! LV

Unibooks caters to the large student population housed at Flinders University and stocks the…read morestandard texts, readers and novels expected of all on-campus bookstores. The Unibooks here has a limited volume of textbooks compared to similar stores - particularly the University of Adelaide one. I've had to place orders on a number of popular books mid-year as they were out of stock but the delivery is within the week. The selection of fiction is quite good for a small store, although the classics do make up the majority. But there are a number of new releases which are nice to peruse. Personally I would love to see more titles in this store, particularly as many disciplines overlap and there is a market out there! Staff are friendly, a few are slightly clueless (i.e.: not knowing how to order in, being unable to spell medicine...) but I would just like a little bit more from here..

I get them from my local library, op shops, garage sales, friends and then, there's the second hand bookstores that I adore immensely. This is a good bookshop as it sells some pretty good quality books. Yes, they're second hand and they deserved to be, as I believe a book never ends its journey. Instead, it looks to a new voyage via a new owner. Boasting a handsomely laid out bookshelves, one can get lost in time in this bookshop. Politics, ancient history, arts, gardening, sports, romance, crime, children, mystery, fiction, non fiction, autobiography, journals...they have it all. I probably found some books a couple of dollars more, if not double than what I would find in an op shop or flea market. If the pricing doesn't bother you, I highly recommend a visit as the books are in pristine condition and you have the option of selling your books here, for some extra cash and for someone to love them..again and again.

Two stars says that you'll probably find what you want here, but they're lacking in some way, and four stars says that they're awesome in some specific way. Five stars would be awesome in every conceivable way, and I think that's fairly hard to attain. In this case, they're a good newsagent. They're not doing anything that shouldn't be expected of a quality shop - friendly staff who are helpful if you need assistance (and I find it a pity that good service is no longer an expectation of an average shop, but I find myself increasingly giving more stars for that particular aspect, just because my expectations seem to be sinking on a weekly basis), the range is good and it's generally a good experience. Not only do I find the magazines I buy on a monthly basis there in stock pretty much every month, but some of the harder to get magazines too. I don't mind this shop at all.

The staff are super friendly and the entire layout is perfect with everything positioned in easy access. There is a great range of magazines which cover a whole variety of subjects, and a great assortment of quality (and amusing) gift cards. Additionally it is possible to stock up here for stationary and planners. Please note that this is the sort of place you also go to in order to obtain tax-packs and all that sort of jazz. Also, those of you who are interested in the Cross Lotto and scratchy side of things, might also want to note that you can only purchase gambling goods from solely one counter. This is due to anti-gambling legislation.
