Chris and Steve battled to turn military brown into sky-blue with white, using coat after coat to cover up the old color. In the end, there's no trace of the original left, and the house looks clean, fresh, and up to date. The paint is smooth and even all over the house, with no sign of ladder marks or patchiness. We appreciated their honest, up-front approach, along with their willingness to give advice on where to put trim vs body color to maximize the visual effects of the new paint. They offered a competitive price, and delivered the work as scheduled, even offering to come back and do touch-ups if we noticed any spots they had missed. After being warned to avoid large corporations, we are really glad we went with Colortrends, and would recommend them to anyone -- and will use them again next time!

I contracted with Ken Wallen in October 2023 to paint house inside & outside. Taken me this long to…read morebe civil about his work. Price was okay. What a mistake! Sprayed the decks - & oversprayed the shingles, painted all the rocks around the house, missed painting several areas, took all leftover paint. What a mess! Every day was a new nightmare. Charged for painting both sides of doors - only did outside with latex paint. I had to repaint doors myself with proper enamel. Blamed me for distance to house, him scheduling to work on gf's bday weekend, the rain, his brother ditching job after 1 day - all the customer's fault. In a bind, I talked him into coming back 1 day to finish outside. Next day - called to find him. 10 am his gf calls, says he took a drywall job & they would find me someone. Sent me a joker with no painting experience or tools - ran him off after 2 hours. He was an emotional mess, unprofessional, tried to threaten me, didn't even finish the outside. Paid him in full for outside & told him if he or anyone associated w him contacted me I would press charges. Military people finish the job. Stay far away from this guy unless you like emotional roller coaster messes. Ken - best not to respond since you know it's all true.

He missed several spots and when I asked him to come back to fix, I got a lecture about how he doesn't like to do touch ups and how much training he had. The spots he did look OK but the inside of the doors and other areas are missed. Buy some Restor A Finish from Lowes and do it yourself if you have small areas like mine. I would not recommend this company for touch ups....maybe they do better with the whole kitchen. UPDATE: 12/30/22 I received a full refund from Tim today by certified mail with a nice letter. I paid him on 11/21/22. I only said a half refund would be adequate because the work was not completed satisfactorily. Too bad this had to happen. I was just being honest about the work and price.
