Amazing! Doug the owner personally supervised his crew every morning and at end of work day. Which for us who was having this done while living in another state so reassuring...Doug personally assured that any packages that were delivered were put in the home, even after the painting job was finished!! Who does that??!!! We are also having all the kitchen cabinets and butler panty cabinets done in a week and I am sure we will arrive at our new home and think we entered the wrong home, LOL. I'm not sure how 5 Star came to their price quote; but, check the others out. And, yes, our painting team in Vegas was bonded and insured. I actually had to sit down when I saw this quote. I'd love to also see their mission statement. Do they work with diverse clients such as LGBTQ or do they think I was a fool and pay it. Did they price me out on purpose. I am not new to Springfield and will find a wonderful place to paint my interior. I told the professional who recommended 5 Star to me and they said they would not refer them again; AND, stated that pricing was extremely strange.

We booked Chris from A to Z after having hired a guy "that was supposed to be from our…read moreneighborhood" who said he just moved here and was starting a business. He gave us a good deal, but once he realized he didn't have the skill to paint our house he quit, so we reached out to A to Z.. Chris came out and just couldn't stop bragging about how he was from California, and was on the news and was set on "teaching these fly by night painters a lesson." Chris walked our house and gave us a decent estimate. We asked if he did basic repairs? He said yes he did little stuff, and I said awesome. So we wrote up the paperwork and I gave him $500 cash. My wife texted him a couple days later and just had a few questions about the paint. Chris then told her he was canceling the job. I then texted him to ask if I could come pick up our deposit "fearing he was scamming us!" He responded with "checks in the mail." And his reason for canceling was "we were too bothersome with pics and texts." This is from 2 texts mind you and a call! He then proceeded to bombard myself and my wife's phones with texts!!! Saying we were too troublesome, and continuing to reiterate that he thought the job was going to be too much of a hassle. I have screen shots over 5 texts to me "way more than he got." I told him the only thing I wanted was a refund. He responded with "Check is in the mail, don't harass me or I will put a hold on it, and I have contacted the authorities..."WTH? He then sent our check with a letter "which I have" basically saying we are too much trouble and our house isn't a mansion." Absolutely unprofessional and would never recommend. All of this could have been avoided had he just said "Sorry I'm unable to take this job; your deposit has been mailed."

PLEASE BEWARE! Hired to paint interior walls & ceilings of…read moreour home along with some sheetrock work. Our bad! Many hard lessons learned. We had an extensive amount of work to be done. Matthew (owner) did not individually list discussed work to be done on his "contract," but we believed it was lumped under the overall work to be done. All his "talk" of getting these things done was never completed. We were accused of "nitpicking" work done and told we "had to wait for all the work to be completed." The attached photos were taken after they supposedly completed our work. Matthew would repetitively "ASSURE" us that the work would be done and look "AMAZING" at completion. But far from it! Matthew gives a "good" sales pitch for his business ... Numerous lies in our opinion. He boasted of his 16 years experience and 30 year experience by his sheetrocker. It did not appear that Dustin, our painter, had much experience. Very sloppy work with paint left on our appliances, cabinets, bathroom countertops, trim and floors. We told them not to worry about the carpeted areas as they were being replaced, but guess they had NO respect for our property anywhere else as they also left it all over the hardwood, stone and bathroom LVP flooring. End results of sheetrock work very poor. There is a residual hole around a light fixture where they replaced sheetrock work. They left extraordinary amounts of splattered mud and sheetrock dust EVERWHERE on our property inside the home and throughout the garage! Common sense definately lacking in multiple areas. Who leaves the door open leading into the house from the garage where sheetrock demolition and replacement occurred! Who wouldn't leave plastic/paper sheeting over furniture and floors until ALL the work was completed! They did not bring tools, saw horses or even ladders. We supplied those and even tape measures so they could do the job. Wouldn't wish their work on ANYONE else in our communities, not even an enemy!
