There is a distinct difference in my opinion between the front 9 and the back 9. The front is tighter and you can get into trouble on a couple of holes with the water running along the fairway. On the back nine you can swing for the fences and try and score. Clubhouse has the basics supplies, there is a driving range and practice putting green. There isn't a short game area so you'll have to make the best of it practicing the short stuff on the range.

This is a nice course. I really like the greens. Also a great practice Course. It has no sand traps…read moreso that's different. But it's pretty open so you can really go for the green sometimes. Price is good, about average for a public course. Gave 4 stars because they have no one monitoring the pace of play and the lack of courtesy on the course. I sat at the first tee box behind a foursome while they teed off and was not offered the chance to play through one time. I know I could have went around them but that would have been discourteous as well. The correct thing as a foursome is to let a single player play through. It took me four and half hours to play a round of golf by myself! Obviously they knew I was behind them. It was almost like we were playing as a five group. Anyway, as long as you don't get behind any douches like this, you'll really enjoy this course. Just watch out for the old lady that lives on the third fairway. She likes to sit on her patio And laugh at you if you hit a bad shot lmao.

Far too many amazing memories to even begin to list. There used to be an amazing pier and an amazing floating dock. Epic games of water tag used to stretch from shore to shore. Then a despicable Wal-mart came to town, stripped off a mountaintop to plant itself, caused so much extra run-off that the state ordered the lake drained, and turned a bunch of happy, healthy, productive teenagers into alcoholics. Finally, many years and lawsuits later, the lake rebuilt a dam to suit the state and slowly refilled to its former self. Gone was the pier and the floating dock, gone was the camaraderie. The teens were adults now, and the new youth had no central place to gather. Still, it was better than barren. As an avid tattoo collector, I had long known I would get a rocker (slang for a stomach tattoo bearing some word), but had been remiss as to what I would get. One day my late father and I were venturing out to the store when we saw some other lake folk at the beach, toiling away on the beginnings of a new floating dock. We stopped to ask if we could help. There on the beach, a lightbulb went off in my head. How could I have not thought of this sooner? It was so obvious... My stomach now bears a banner that reads "CHAWEVA." Inked onto my body by none other than my best friend of 21 years, Matt Hays of Tat-Nice Tattoos in Huntington, West Virginia. Guess where he grew up? Yeah, he's a Chaweva Boy too.

I'm always concerned about where to park when visiting stadiums and arenas. Plus, I do not want to walk two miles. Well, we noticed most folks were parking on the streets and neighboring parking lots. We chose not to since we were unfamiliar with the area and didn't want to get towed during the game. So, I coughed up $20.00 for parking next to the stadium. Besides, the tickets were free. The size of the stadium reminded me of Missouri's Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field. It had a close-knit feel to it. The lines for food and drinks weren't slow, and the line moved quickly. We were both impressed. I believe we picked up water and two sodas for $12, and yes, they serve beer until the end of the third quarter. Also, the fans were friendly and talkative. Of course, I signed, "I'm Deaf," and all was good. The universal football talk is a majority of fist bumps and high-fives unless the team is horrible, and then, most folks exit left anyways. So, if you haven't visited Joan C. Edwards Stadium, please try it, and you might find yourself saying, "We are MARSHALL!"
