Terrible food, horrible doom service, no temperature control, windows were tiny, and the crowd it attracts is very lackluster

Good place to work, but as an RN remember that in 12 hrs you won't be able to pee, eat or drink…read more You will run your butt off all day every day. The CO's, although mostly very nice, aren't usually in a hurry to help you during med pass especially in Pod 1, because they are busy with their feet up on the desk chatting it up with each other while you don't have time to complete the million other tasks you have to do. All in all a good place to work to obtain good party stories.

The WCJ staff have the worst attitude I've ever seen. Not accommodating at all. They will let you…read morerun out of basic supplies, bed situation is laughable. For starters, no pillows -_- The toilet is next to your head when you go to sleep on your cold metal mattress. The walls, though made of concrete are paper thin. You hear all the other guests every movement! and pray they don't snore. If you do manage to fall asleep don't worry, the rude staff will come by every half hour through the night and wake you up asking "are your okay?" which they don't actually care, what they're actually asking is "are you alive?" Soon as you move to say "well no thanks for asking, can I have a pillow?" they are long gone. Honestly if I had to characterize the staff's attitude I would say they treat you as if you're in some kind of jail. The food comes 3 times a day and is actually impressive, you would have to try hard to engineer food this bad. At 27 cents a trey I guess maybe I'm expecting too much? My recommendation is to get moved into Pod 3 which is the workers pod. Take a job in the kitchen and spend your 10 hour days very carefully stealing real food. It's under lock and key but they unlock it at certain times. Unlimited Milk and cookie dough, steak fajitas, real fruit like apples and oranges! And in Pod 3 you can shower everyday instead of 3 times a week plus you can work time off your stay. If you get caught taking food though you will get thrown into Pod 2 with the Murderers and other creepy people so don't get caught, cameras everywhere All said there is no hope for this place, just stay away from the fake gangsters (and the real ones). Anyone tells you they are there for an OWI is probably a cho-mo. Find normal people to hangout with and it's not that bad. Workout, read, stay sharp. Whatever you do, don't fight, even defending yourself lands you 6months, no exceptions. The CO's wont break it up either until a lieutenant shows up with a taser so you have about 20 to 35 seconds to not get your head smashed on the corner of a metal table...And don't be disillusioned that because you're in Waukesha people wont shatter your face with a cribbage board. If you do decide to book a vacation here....good luck.

You can call the police department multiple times and they'll come each time. Will they help? No…read more Not once for me. I'm not sure if they've ever helped anyone. If you're a concerned father, or a person who needs help, do not call the police department! They will find a way to let the criminals go free while innocent parents trying to protect their kids get charged. I've never felt more unsafe in my live. This department needs to take calls more seriously. They need to listen to the people asking them for help. If anything bad happens to your family, do not count on them to help. If you annoy them too much they'll just find a way to get you in trouble instead. It's sickening.

I rarely yelp, but I have to report on a terrible experience I just had dealing with the Walworth…read moreCounty Clerk's office. I live in California and my niece, who lives in Wisconsin, asked me to perform her marriage to her fiancé in Wisconsin. (I have performed numerous marriages in the past and happen to be an ordained minister.) I said yes. I did some online research about performing a marriage as an out-of-state minister in Wisconsin, and I had a couple questions (e.g. does Wisconsin require registration? does Wisconsin require proof of a local branch of your ministry?), so I called the Clerk's office. Seems reasonable, since they will be issuing and recording the license! But when I called, I spoke to a very mean and aggressive clerk named "Kim". She cut me off repeatedly and was just terribly rude. After initially refusing to let me simply ask my questions, she finally let me speak. She then answered the questions curtly and I thanked her. But she was thoroughly dismissive and unnecessarily aggressive throughout the conversation. After hanging up, I decided to call back and lodge a complaint with Kim's boss. (After all, a marriage is supposed to be a joyous occasion, and I'm volunteering my time and energy to this happy event, while Kim just cast a pall on my efforts.) So I called back to complain and asked to speak to Kim's manager, only to discover that the Kim I dealt with is THE elected Walworth County Clerk, Kimberly Bushey. What a shame for the folks of Walworth County! So... people of Walworth County.... take my yelp review for whatever you think it is worth.

The ability to leave a review for this prison on Google is disabled for a reason!…read more I would only give them ONE star for the cleanliness, which the inmates are responsible for. So they don't even deserve that! Firstly, As a civilian who visits a loved one who is incarcerated at this institution- I would like to give credit to the sensible correctional officers that are pleasant to engage with.. And they are very FEW and FAR in between!! The other 95% of the COs treat the family members like shit and I can only imagine how they treat the inmates! They have the most vile attitudes and slick mouths, screaming "I abuse my authority". The environment is not helpful for a person who is trying to change their lives for the better and it's not the inmates making it hard for each other (most of the time), it's actually the correctional officers and that is twisted! The dirty cops you see in the movies, they actually exist and work there at RCI. When you call on the phone, you get attitude from the departments that have COs answering AND anyone outside of that department are not answering the phone and they don't return phone calls! No one takes initiative to help resolve an issue, they give you the runaround with their incompetence. If you're an inmate and you want to enroll in a school program, GOOD LUCK getting in contact with the director of education! If you're a loved one looking to speak with their counselor, GOOD LUCK with that too. They never answer and they never call back! I do not recommend ANY inmates to transfer to RCI if they have a choice. Highly recommended that the warden clean house and rehire
