Nursing assistant allowed to speak to family inappropriately! With family witnesses in the room administrator sides with staff. Due to conflicting stories family not allowed to see family member who is now at his limited defense's. The only thing 4-5 stars is the building!

They offer many excursions around Milwaukee and being on the bluff above Lake Michigan offers a great location to watch lakefront festival fireworks all summer long. In addition to the regular cafeteria style dining, St. John's offers a higher end dining option with Taylor's. The service at Taylor's is impeccable and really gives you the feel that you are out for the special dinner overlooking Lake Michigan. The apartments (at least the one I visit) in St. John's are a little dated but the common areas have all been updated and the facility continues to expand. Washcloth at the bathroom sink I could have done at home. I did get a kick out of the gazebo in the parking lot where staff and patients went to smoke. I was lucky to have an assertive daughter who attended family meetings and confronted some of their issues. The patient refrigerator ran at 54° F, sad for patients using it for their special items like Lactaid milk. A kind young CNA felt sorry for me and let me keep food in a staff refrigerator. I liked the PT and OT professionals, and the fellow who ran the kitchen did his best with what I can only conclude were limited resources. My friends still jokingly refer to this place as The Resort. Great neighborhood, short walk to Lake Park and decent restaurants, so I survived.
