I have been dining at the Milwaukee Catholic Home on and off for over three years…read more Today, my sister, father and I all met up for lunch and had an amazing experience. It started off with a cup of vegetable soup that, with the addition of just the right amount of crumbled up Ritz crackers, warmed my soul to the core. Next came a deliciously prepared grilled baloney sandwich with melted cheese on a toasted brioche bun. This sandwich took me back to my youth, much the way Ego was transported when he ate the ratatouille dish created by Rene in the movie. The masterpiece was made even more amazing by perfectly seasoned, fried shoestring potatoes. The climax to the meal was a masterful rendition of cake and ice cream presented in the form of a heavenly piece of devil's food chocolate cake topped with the creamiest of peanut butter frosting that would make a Reese's peanut butter cup weep. All of this was paired with a scoop of spumoni. An amalgamation of the most delicious chocolate, pistachio and cherry ice cream. The likes of which I have never experienced before. This experience would not have been possible had it not been for the flawless execution of our guide, Sherry, through this culinary excursion

THIS UPDATES MY PREVIOUS REVIEW:…read more WARNING: This facility is currently being "closely monitored by CMS.gov" due to "a documented pattern of poor-quality care for one month between August 2023 and July 2024." And according to several employees I trust, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services was here for the whole second half of 2023, too. Sadly, though, this apparently toothless agency, slated to disappear under Trump and Kash Patel, didn't see fit to cut off Medicare and Medicaid funds, which would have effectively shut this miserable place down. Where do I even start? As I write this I'm in bed with COVID, courtesy of the way they mishandled an outbreak that continues to threaten patients and staff alike. In my case this means no visitors for at least another week. The roar from the antiquated plumbing keeps many of us awake all night, while the equally ancient HVAC keeps the air uncomfortably hot and dry 24/7/365, forcing us to guzzle ice water all day, which we of course pee out all night in bed. The food runs the gamut from merely unappetizing to outright disgusting. Worse, they stuff us with white bread, white potatoes, white rice, Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, Kool-Aid and Hawaiian Punch, then recommend a laxative every morning. Some of us ask visitors to bring us high-fiber carbs and high-protein shakes whenever they come. I should add that there are many skilled and compassionate staffers here, but the stingy, appallingly greedy owners wont let most of them do their best work. So spare yourself or a loved one months or even years of misery and choose Luther Manor, St. Ann's or another nonprofit instead.

From the insect problems to the elderly lady that does activities that yell at the clients and snatch things out of their hands. Why isn't anyone reporting the elderly abuse? If they wanted to they can't even get seconds because Valerie which is the social worker takes all the food home. I watch a client fall outside and no one from the campus came outside to help her get up. My mom was so full of BM that I could smell it as soon as they brought her to me. I can't speak for the childcare side but the Adult side is horrible. I asked to speak with the director multiple times and the lady that has the office at the front comes out saying I'm her sister how can I help, you're not who I need. I can't remember how many times I asked the staff to keep my mother things together do they no. That campus and staff is a complete joke. All they want is your money without providing great care. The young lady that did our tour was so sweet and nice but she no longer is there. I wish I could remember her name. Not all of them are bad it's just the rooms upstairs those lady's have the nastiest attitude. Please don't send anyone you love to the Bucyrus Campus
