I needed a pair of safety-toe shoes for my line of work & was excited to see that they had a very decent selection to chose from. I was also impressed with the fact that they had larger sizes stocked, that are rare to find/come by in almost all of their women's shoes (I'm a size 11). Best customer service experience! The lady was super helpful & polite, was great about answering questions and also was not 'pushy' or in-your-face (as I had experienced at the other couple of prior shoe stores on my hunt). Much bigger selection than the Laconia location as well. I'll be sure to return the next time I need footwear!

It is the best service you will ever find. They will keep bringing shoes in your size that you might like and you may be surprised with which ones you fall in love with. I love that they are curated from around the world, including Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy, and Australia. Very unique. All very high-quality and well-made, and most extremely comfortable, which is one of the main things I look for in a shoe these days. They also have some beautiful leather purses. My husband has several pairs of shoes from here too. Absolutely recommend, and intend to stop in on every visit to Kennebunkport! As an added bonus, they also do free shipping and/or tax, which is super convenient. This time we came with four of us, including our friends, Doug and Aviva, who are locals, and bought 10 pairs. They were even all on special, which is a rare occurrence. Again, had them shipped, which was great. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

The boots I got are gorgeous and comes in so many colors. Some of my favorite brands live there like Gabor and Ara and there were others I never heard of like brands from Spain. I finally found a birkenstock that fit me that I have wanted for a long time. The woman who was also helping me was so sweet and patient. My friend bought a few pairs too. I wore the Gabor loafers today and they were comfy right out of the box. I will drive to Kennenunkport from Boston if I need anymore shoes. If i don't buy another pair of shoes I wouldn't need to. However with stores like John's how can you say no?

Be aware there were only 5 or so size 12's for women, but they still had a nice selection of shoes otherwise.
